Surveillance cameras are like PV's and Lays potato chips. Ya can't have just one.

It's a good thing I don't have woods because I know that would be true.

If the logs are too big for you to lift with one hand then maybe they could be cut smaller. I know they would burn up faster but which is more important, your wrist or using a little more wood? If you're still stoking the fire when I'm there, I can do it. ;)

Meh - I'm not worried. I have to give myself a shot every morning, so I've gotten used to needles. I understand that this will be a larger gauge needle, but I'm a tough ole broad. I think.

I figured you could handle it especially knowing that it will (hopefully) ease the pain for awhile.

Again - not worried. I have a high tolerance to pain. I used to get my cavities filled without novacaine cuz the sensation of it wearing off bugged me more. Instead, I'd ask the Dentist for a tissue before he started, and I'd turn it into a diamond in my hand while he worked.

Now the dentist needle is the worst but I could never let him work on me without it.

I'll be sure to show Terry exactly what it looks like and steer her clear of it when she comes to visit. Doesn't bother me though. I can roll in it. ;)

Thank you. I knew you would. :)

It's a beautiful sunny day this morning but with the breeze I froze my .... off going to the mailbox. No walk on the beach today. :(

There is a CASAA Call for Action for my state. The want to add a 75- 95% tax on all ecig related gear and ejuice. This could quite possibly cause a lot of small businesses to shutdown. Here is the Call for Action CASAA: Call to Action! Washington Bill to Impose Excessive 95% Tax on E-Cigarettes On that link is a Comma delimited e-mail list. Just scroll down a ways. I urge and beg you all to send an email to everyone on that list. You can copy & paste that list into your email with one click. If you don't know what to say or don't have the time to type up an email, PM me and I will send you a copy of the email I sent. It's very quick and easy and would be greatly appreciated. Thanks in advance. :)

Oh, this bill is going to be voted on either this week or next so there is no time to waste. Please help us.

Rave, if you have to lift logs for the fire, can you rig something so you can do it one-handed? Tongs or something? You really need to stop using that hand till it heals.

I'm tough about pain, too. Since I hate shots, which has less to do with pain than the idea of a needle piercing my skin, I've requested dental work with no novocaine, too. My current dentist insists on novocaine, though. He says not using it, the pain makes people salivate more, and the saliva gets in the way. So I go along with the program. I get novocaine. I don't like that numb, paralyzed feeling in my face afterward, either, but it goes away pretty quickly, so I just put up with it.

Yes, in a little while, I'll call and cancel the tutoring. It's really coming down, and driving would be dangerous. I bet the schools are closed. I made it to the barn and back just in time this morning before it got bad. Whew! I feel so much better knowing Penny's protected from the cold. I was also glad to see that she and Gigi were bonding. It might be nice for her to have a girlfriend. Keep her mind off the boys when she comes into heat, maybe?

Sorry to hear you are still getting hit by Winter. :(

Nope, a girlfriend isn't going to help when she's in heat. ;)

Rave, your snowy woodland scene reminded me of this:

Stopping by Woods on a Snowy Evening
BY ROBERT FROST

Whose woods these are I think I know.
His house is in the village though;
He will not see me stopping here
To watch his woods fill up with snow.

My little horse must think it queer
To stop without a farmhouse near
Between the woods and frozen lake
The darkest evening of the year.

He gives his harness bells a shake
To ask if there is some mistake.
The only other sound’s the sweep
Of easy wind and downy flake.

The woods are lovely, dark and deep,
But I have promises to keep,
And miles to go before I sleep,
And miles to go before I sleep.

I'll post some photos I just took of our snowstorm in progress.

The neighbor's garage:

I love that poem and pics but wish you were having sunny days instead of snowy days.

I did have a nice birthday party last night. It was just my kids and their respective mates and my BF. It was almost 70 degrees when everyone showed up so I had the house open. It felt and sounded like spring. We made our own individual homemade wraps with turkey and bacon and cheese, avocado, and any veggies that you might want. Add some ranch dressing, and it was a feast! Somehow, six of us managed to go through four family sized packages of oven roasted turkey and two pounds of bacon! After we ate, my daughter's hubby played an acoustic guitar (extremely well) for background sound while we talked. Mostly he was just piddling around with absolutely beautiful melodies. At some point, all five of the gliders came out of their pouch and lined up on a limb just to watch and listen, completely enraptured. They're never still for anything other than sleeping. It was amazing to see them act like that.

Last night the storm began here with a single clap of thunder, then ice pellets, then torrential rain. Yesterday, near 70. Just a little while ago, I took this shot.

I'm glad you had a great party and hope you aren't having to recover today.

70 degrees? We won't see that until maybe June. but I think we are done with the snow but then we didn't get much to write home about. Your dinner sounds delicious and I would love to hear your daughters hubby play the guitar. I love guitar instrumentals. Has he recorded anything?

And now you are back to winter. :(

I cannot believe it is your birthday, Raven. I feel like we just had your birthday:) I have been on this chit chat thread for too long now if I am repeating people's birthdays!

Glad you had a great birthday and Happy Birthday to you!!!!!

Wow, I can't believe all the snow back East. It is really nice here today. Too bad I'm too worn out to get much done. Maybe later today, after I pick up the dogs, I'll get something done around here.

Okay, the shed is ordered and the down payment is made. $1600 with tax, two fronts with gates and side panels with a bottom rail for attaching the plywood to. It will be a great addition to the property and we should be able to install it in one weekend with and additional day to put up the plywood. It should be delivered next week.

Of course, one dog weighed 51 pounds and over 50 pounds cost me an extra $15 and the other dog [Sassy] weighed 63 pounds so she was an extra $15. Hubby was right, they did weigh more than 50 pounds:)

The vet tech say the dogs have to stay in the house overnight but that is not very doable. Maybe I could lock them in the greenhouse which stays over 50 degrees overnight. They can't regulate their heat after being given a morphine based drug. And it has really been cold overnight last two nights. 27 degrees this morning. Maybe if I put them in there at 10 o'clock and Hubby let's them out at 5 o'clock, they'll be okay with being locked up for the night.

The run in shed sounds great. Your little ones will love it in the winter to keep warm and in the summer to keep cool. :)

Well in my dream I got it on my upper arm (bicep?) but I was thinking more of an ankle or calf. It was a pretty cool design but I was thinking more of a Triquetra (or Irish Trinity knot) and maybe a fairy. I don't know if I ever will get one but I just know I'm not getting one now.:)

My BF's daughter does tatooing and I'd like to get one but I'm chicken. You know...needles...pain. 8-o

They just came & plowed the driveway. I was lucky and got my car moved into Bill's space so he could plow mine, too, rather than having a huge mound of snow around it. There's a good 6 inches, maybe a bit more, and it's still snowing. My car backed right out of my space! AWD and studded snow tires really make a difference! The people upstairs had their car stuck in the middle of the driveway, and even after he plowed and they shoveled all around it, they had to give it a push to get it rolling into its parking space.

Nah - We're not back to winter. This was just a last gasp. That's my story, and I'm stickin' to it! :p

He used to play with the group Outer Sanctum. Ever heard of 'em? They were really big in Japan. He can play drums or any guitar you threw in his direction among many other instruments.

Glad you were able to get your car out. :toast: to AWD!! I couldn't live without it. At least, not out here.

I'm not familiar with that group but I sure like that song. Which one is your BIL?

I've always wanted to learn how to play drums. I felt like it would be a good way to let out some aggression in a positive way. Unfortunately I can't coordinated both hands and both feet at the same time.

Hi Jerry - I love being a Voltpeep.

How have you been?

I just got back from bringing the doggies home. They did pretty good. Willie did not want to walk inside the building but once she got outside she did a little better. One of the gals in the vet office helped me pick them up and get them in the Toy. They are wandering around getting too much water and recovering from being very high.

Good stuff Raven.

Yes, I am hopeful that we are not going to go super cold again although there is always a real possibility that winter will return for a few days. Gasp, choke, let go winter.

I couldn't find Willie so I thought she was hiding. I get back into the house and look out the window...who's in the back yard laying in the sun...Willie. Sassy decided a nap was a great idea and joined her. I am so glad they decided to sleep it off where I could keep an eye on them.

Hi Lizzie. We are getting rain, Sandy. It's supposed to change to snow overnight, but we aren't going to get much snow.

As for where I have been, I have been on Facebook mostly and also the Vapers Rest, which is a UK forum, where I'm the only active American member. We need more Americans over there. LOL

Nice to get some rain. I hope you don't start posting with a British accent:) Jer.
