Am I the only person who didn't know that daylight savings time starts this weekend. Leap ahead tonight.

NOPE . . . But Ya' know what the worse part is - that once again "We" all lose an hour too . . . Which "We" never ever actually get back no matter what Ya' do . . . AND - Since there is no reason at all anymore for the time changes - I really wish "They" would leave the time alone and let us stay on "Real" Time . . . Just Sayin' . . . ;)

Could be lol. I luv my smart phone, tablet, puters and weather station. They all update automatically and two of them are my alarm clocks. All I've got to do is remember to get to bed an hour earlier. Sorry Unc but I'm one of those that loves DST. We live different lifestyles and being an outdoor person I use the after dinner time to get a few things done outside that it's a little too hot to do any other time. For example, I don't mind mowing during the heat of the day but the weedeating, chainsawing and other strenuous chores get a little rough. By bedtime I've got my dinner worked off and can lose these 7 or 8 pounds I put on during the winter. Nice time to go fishing as well.

Wow! Rave, congratulations on the ring.

Lizzie, enjoy the concert. You deserve a night out for all the hard work you do.

Wuzz, I'm in the group who really hates having to change the clocks 2 times a year. It seems so pointless. Why not just have dinner earlier so you have daylight after dinner for what you want to do? My point is, daylight savings doesn't make more daylight. There's the same amount no matter what time you call it. So why reset clocks and our own inner clock and confuse everyone?

Today, Bill got to Skype with his son and grandson, who live in San Francisco. It was snowing here, and I carried my computer (a laptop) out onto the porch so they could see the snow falling. Meanwhile, he said it's about 75º there. I'm so jealous!

Sitting down, facing forward.
Giving Bo a bath turned into a marathon. Every time we go there, there is no one using the do-it-yourself area. Today someone was and had a second dog as well so we had to wait. I don't understand how we can wash and dry a 160 pound dog in under a half hour while a 10 pound rug rat takes an hour. Go figure.

In the insult to injury department, Mrs. Awsum had called in a refill for Bo's meds and the Vet is on the way home. I asked if we should stop and she said "no, they haven't called to say they are ready." As soon as I parked the Jeep and got Bo out, her phone rang...the meds were ready.

I'm with you, Wuzz. I like DST and wish they'd leave it like that year around. It gets depressing when it gets dark at four in the afternoon.

@ "Wuzz" & "awsum" . . . Actually - I don't have a problem with either DST or Standard Time . . . Just want one or the other like the majority of the World and not have to continually go back and forth . . .

moanin', Voltville

After some thought, I've come to the conclusion that Daylight Savings Time is similar to cutting ten feet of rope off of one end of a 100 foot piece and tying onto the other end to make the rope longer. I do like the later sunsets and guess I'm used to being up before sunrise, but is there any real "gain". Bo got up at about the same relative time, but then he can't read a clock. To me, after thinking about it, it's yet another example of a Government program that just won't go away even though it's actually useless.

Hear! Hear! I agree. In fact, most people who took this poll -- POLL: Is Daylight Saving Time Still Necessary? - AccuWeather.com -- don't like changing the clocks. If it's so unpopular, why do they still do it? Because they set it in motion years ago, and changing the system would be complicated. But I really think they could do away with it and make people happier. Bo is right: changing your internal clock is disrupting.

Good morning, Voltmaniacs.

I don't really like daylight savings time. Of course, most days I just get up when the sun is coming up. There are a few days I have to be up by 6am but not too many and the sun is coming up by then anyway:) Except for mid-winter.

The concert was fun. I love dancing and they had some danceable music. They didn't play for very long. The band played "Hurry Sundown" and "Green grass and High Times" A lot of fun. They were so loud that I saw an events manager and stopped him. I complained. The guy found us some earplugs so we listened to the band the whole time using earplugs. The first band was Black Hawk and was really mostly just the same guys that were in The Outlaws so go figure. They played some country standards.

The guitar playing was fantastic.

I need to drink this coffee and go feed the critters. Have a great day, peeps.

Hey, Tritium. The ruby red seeds showed up today! I think the yellows will be in Monday or Tuesday at the latest.

You mean the seedless crimson sweet?

Anyway let me know how much cash you need. You can keep a few seeds maybe they will be good :p
