Sitting down, facing forward.
moanin' Volties.

Happy Birthday, Rave. You're still looking good, even at 20!

It's been warm here, 50s and 60s, and we got rain late yesterday and overnight. There's hardly any snow left at all, just the bigger piles and in some deep shade areas. Even that should be gone before much longer so I'll be getting started on the garden and yard clean-up by the weekend.

SO - True what Ya' say there, however what I do not understand is how can "You" make yourself any more beautiful . . .

Especially when "You" are already "PERFECTION" . . .

smiley.gif

Awww Uncle - Your too kind. And I love ya, for it.

I'm trying to remember that the inner me is beautiful so the outer me still looks good because the inner me is beautiful. Yes, it's a stretch but it's all I've got:)

Hubby still thinks I look great. I need a pair of those glasses that he wears.

Your Hubby must get his glasses at the same place that my BF gets 'em. The inner you IS beautiful. Just sayin'.

Could be lol. I luv my smart phone, tablet, puters and weather station. They all update automatically and two of them are my alarm clocks. All I've got to do is remember to get to bed an hour earlier. Sorry Unc but I'm one of those that loves DST. We live different lifestyles and being an outdoor person I use the after dinner time to get a few things done outside that it's a little too hot to do any other time. For example, I don't mind mowing during the heat of the day but the weedeating, chainsawing and other strenuous chores get a little rough. By bedtime I've got my dinner worked off and can lose these 7 or 8 pounds I put on during the winter. Nice time to go fishing as well.

Is there a bad time to go fishing? Just sayin'.

While the ring is very beautiful - I think that Rave's BF is getting the better end of the deal... ;)

 Thank you, Semi.

Good morning, Voltmaniacs.

I don't really like daylight savings time. Of course, most days I just get up when the sun is coming up. There are a few days I have to be up by 6am but not too many and the sun is coming up by then anyway:) Except for mid-winter.

The concert was fun. I love dancing and they had some danceable music. They didn't play for very long. The band played "Hurry Sundown" and "Green grass and High Times" A lot of fun. They were so loud that I saw an events manager and stopped him. I complained. The guy found us some earplugs so we listened to the band the whole time using earplugs. The first band was Black Hawk and was really mostly just the same guys that were in The Outlaws so go figure. They played some country standards.

The guitar playing was fantastic.

I need to drink this coffee and go feed the critters. Have a great day, peeps.

It's great that you enjoyed the concert. Not so great about the volume. That's one of the main reason that I don't do concerts or theaters. Can't handle the intense volume. Or the masses of humanity.

Good night, folks. Lilies to brighten you up.

Gorgeous!! Snagged it for a puzzle. :sneaky:

Yeah, if I win the lottery, I'm going to hire someone to plant watermelons for me!

Good morning, Voltiniacs.

Well, today should be busy so I can have tomorrow off.

I've decided to get the big water trough back into the pen and put the heated water bucket away. It is still chilly overnight but I don't think we will get a deep freeze at this time of the year.

We have some more burning to do.

We bought a nice sized armoire at a second hand store. It is fairly old and needs a bit of work to get it squared up properly. Hubby thinks turn of the century. I will have to take a closer look at how it is made before I decide. It comes apart into two main pieces and a top and a bottom piece. The bottom piece needs to be squared up and one leg is broken so Hubby is going to work on that first.

The main compartments are in okay shape. They have mirrored doors and some inlay. The veneer is a bit rough so it is definitely leaning towards shabby chic.

Hubby is also going to work on the top piece to make sure it is squared up properly/

The compartments have pegs that slide into the bottom piece. Then you put on the top piece and make sure it is square. Then you screw the two compartments together.

Even though you can take it apart, it is super heavy. We need to get it out of the truck and into the garage where it can be worked on. That is my top priority.

Next, we need to do some burning.

The horse and goat pens need to be cleaned.

We need to get chicken wire up around the veggie garden. I think we have enough T posts in to put up one roll of the chicken wire.

Holy cow, Lizzie! That makes me tired just reading it all!! How on earth are you able to do all of that in one day? 'Tis an enigma, but kudos to you. :thumb:

I'd love to see a before and after pic of this armoire. :)

Me too! :)

Sometimes my computer does get over-caffeinated. I guess I demand too much from it.

My computer seems to be under-caffeinated. It's slooooooow ...

I didn't know it was Rave's birthday! Happy birthday, Rave. I wondered why we hadn't heard from her today. I guess she's celebrating. Enjoy, Rave.

Well thank you, Sandy. I haven't been celebrating though. Had a bit of a set-back with my MS and have been dealing with a depressed daughter who refuses meds for her bipolar disorder which she denies that she has in the first place. It's been a rough few days ...

Thank you - ALL of You - for your Happy Birthday wishes!! You guys/gals are wonderful. It all made me smile. I really needed that today, frankly. Even without all of the other "stuff", this is a BIG birthday. One that ends with a zero. Doesn't make me happy. But my BF is taking half the day off to spend the day with me. And, the forest is enshrouded with a mystical blanket of dense fog that is sooo ethereal and soothing. I love fog. It makes for some really cool photo ops. Here's an old photo of mine taken on such a day.

And to top it all off: The bestest gift of all. It's supposed to get up to 63 degrees here today!! :w00t:

Good morning, Voltnics.

First, Happy Birthday Raven!!!!!!

Sorry to hear of your issues with MS and your daughter. Hope things are improving.

I don't know how I get all that stuff done either. It's a matter of get 'er done or spring will be over and I won't be ready for summer:) We didn't do the chicken wire so that is going to wait until next weekend.

I have to clean a house today and run some errands. Hubby went coyote hunting with my truck so I will probably need gas, as well. Don't worry, no coyotes were harmed. The coyotes all live in town and they didn't see a single coyote in the wilds of Nevada.

My gardening buddy came over yesterday. We planted tall French marigolds, oregano, garden sage, Texas sage and zinnias in trays. We chattered like little birds. It's nice having her come over.

I should get my irrigation supplies this evening. That means I can start organizing my irrigation system on the street side. I might wait until Hubby is available on Sunday to work on it. So much easier with help. He can press the 3/4 inch fittings where I have a lot of trouble doing that. It's also easier to roll out the 200 feet of line with two people. The street side has always had trouble watering well so the new set up should help with that.

It's that weeding time of the year. I have to get as much cheat grass out of here as I can before it goes to seed.

The baby lamb picture was so cute, SandySu. Sounds like you have your hands full with the tutoring:) Sounds like Penny is at least not getting worse!

I'm sorry your birthday wasn't more upbeat. It should be a time to celebrate, even if we don't like to be reminded that we're getting older.

It's great that you have someone to plant with! I'll bet that makes the whole process more enjoyable. Good call having Hubby do the press fittings. Those are a pain in the patootie.

Funny thing about the baby lamb picture of Sandy's: My son and I both agree that the man holding the lamb looks amazingly like my late husband. Right down to the wild hair! Darken that unruly beard in patches, bring the hair down into a V in the front, lose that glasses and that's my David. It's uncanny. :?:

That's right. I can celebrate that I've made it this far. :D

Rave, I love that photo of the deer in the fog. I love fog, too, when I don't have to drive in it.

Love driving in it too. Always have.

Looks like we'll get over 60 again today. The sun is out and it's warming up quickly. I've got to run out to the grocery store, Bailey's coffee creamer is on sale.

The Amarillos finally got out of Texas and should be here today so that means a side trip to the post orifice tomorrow. Heads up, Tritium.
