Anybody that does online shopping needs to watch their cards. The thieves are at it again. A couple of weeks ago my cc got hit. Saturday my Debit card got it. I hate to say anything I can't prove but there was only one vendor I used both at. It could be a coincidence but there's a thread on here with several people reporting the same thing. Sometimes I charge with them and sometimes debit. I use a couple of companies that keep a card on file, like Amazon for my Bride's kindle account. On the cc their fraud dept. caught it and stopped it before it went through. On the debit I noticed the charge the same afternoon using online banking.

I use a Rotozip, Rave.

Comes with a wheel attachment so you can cut like docs when they remove a cast:

with one of these:

And for carving weird shapes, you take off the attachment, and use it like this:

With one of these:

(I usually use the toothy one first, then fine-tune it with the diamond one.)

Ceramic cuts like butter. Porcelain takes a little more work. If you're doing mostly straight cuts, the wet table saw would be way easier. I never had any luck with nippers, and I get really picky about how the tiles fit.

Nice!! Hmmm ... guess I'll be trolling eBay for a used Rotozip and accessories. Probably can't afford new, but I haven't Googled it yet. I just paid my bills. 'Nuff said. :glare:

Harbor Freight could be your friend. Not the greatest quality but for occasional homeowner use I've found a lot of things that wouldn't have been affordable otherwise.

Good morning, Voltpeeps.

Love the rotozip, Cindy. Nice!!!!

Got lots done yesterday. Hoping to take most of today off although I may not be able to resist some weeding. Gotta rest up to clean a house tomorrow. Hubby put a new carburetor on a neighbor's lawn tractor and it runs great!!!

We got the pond pump working up front but we still need to work on the back pond.

My cheat grass weeding efforts are paying off but there's still a fair amount to do. Looks like I will have needle and thread grass to weed out next.

Hubby is having a BBQ next Sunday so I need to work on cleaning the house, the breezeway and the backyard. We need to find chairs since I think the weather will be nice so we can sit outside.

We are heading into town today to do some errands after Hubby gets his blood work done. He takes thyroid pills and they check it once a year.

Harbor Freight and I already have a pretty tight relationship.

Dunno if you can resist weeding, huh? You're one of a kind, Lizzie. I could resist weeding until the day I ... um ... return to my home planet. The BBQ sounds like fun. Great way to usher in springtime.

moani', Voltville.

That's the problem with weeds, Lizzie, they're relentless!

Rave, rule of thumb is the higher the current/watts the better off you are in terms of durability.

A Dremel would have problems cutting through tile roughly 3/8", 7-9mm thick, for any cut bigger than a few mm or fractions of an inch. It'd overheat and the bt would be toast by then anyway. The RotoZip has the "oomph" to work tile like that.

I guess it would be similar to why you wouldn't use a Dremel to drill a 15mm hole. Yes, it can be done, but hard on the machine and too much time for it to be practical. The RotoZip is a king sized Dremel made for heavier use. If I remember correctly it was originally used to cut holes, outlets, switches, lights, in sheetrock so it was designed for heavy use/abuse in dusty environments. It does need two hands to keep it accurate and takes a little practice to use well, but it can save tons of time and effort.

Thanks Awsum, but after a bit of research, it turns out that I don't need a whole new tool. I can get 3 3/8" diamond saw wheels with a 15mm arbor for my B&D Bolt On system. I've got the trim saw attachment (along with most of the others). That'll do the trick. All that I need is the blade. :D

At about the same time as cutting holes in sheetrock the cabinet industry found it invaluable for working laminate counter tops. I eventually found it to beat a hammer and chisel for undercutting hard to reach places in door casings that my jamb saws wouldn't reach.

And in a box. Opening boxes excites me lol.

I know, I know. And the woman does love her tools! But, the budget is limited.

*I'll just bet that most of you menfolk think that the womenfolk in Voltville are ... not quite normal.

We're not.
