Well, ECF is back, sort of. I'm holding off any comments for a bit to give things a chance to "shake out", but so far it's kind of a downer.

What makes it a downer? I just got in, giving it plenty of time to be up and running, and, though things look a bit different, so far it seems to work.

If you're looking for "My Posts" under "New Posts," probably not, but really easy to put them under "Watched Threads." You just have to find them again, then click on "Watch Thread" at the top right. Or post something and it'll automatically add it to your "Watch Threads." You can also watch whole forums (like the SI subforum) and unwatch or ignore anything or anybody you want off your radar.

This is what they're using at the other place and it's got some nice features. Like you can "tag" somebody with @ in front of username is like CCing somebody in email. Sends them an alert, then they can read your post and jump in. Haven't seen what it's like here, but what I didn't like at the other place is that "Notifications" isn't separated (Likes, Replies, Tags, etc. are all jumbled together). I liked it here better when the Likes were in one link, Messages were in another one, etc.

Yeah, I had to add all my watched forums as well. You need to check the "keep me logged in box", AGAIN. The "Alerts" feature is sort of a pain and semi-useless because it shows too much stuff. Would have been nice if a tutorial or operation notes had been posted.

Like I said, change is inevitable but you don't have to like it.

Start of a NEW DAY . . . AND - A NEW ECF . . . :D

Thankfully it is similar to 2 other forums I belong too . . .So not too much different, other then some very great options that those forums have that have yet to be implemented here on ECF . . . So it will be a wait and see process that will take time, just hopefully not to long . . . Especially since it has already taken about an half-hour to set up "My" Profile (including getting "My" sig-line back) and getting "My" Privacy Settings redone, while trying "My" hardest to opt-out of all the other "Stuff" that is here that I would rather not have/be involved with . . . SO "We'll see . . .

Now to get back to "fixing" some other things - Like trying to organize all "My" PM's so I can access what smiley's I've saved there for future use on ECF . . .

HEY - BTW: WHere are all "My" Trophies that so many other people have already . . .

Like I said a "user guide" would be nice.

What I really miss is the "Settings" page that showed subscribed threads and subscribed forums. Now those are separate and there's no quick way to navigate between them. This whole thing may be nice for those of you who frequent lots of BB services, but it's no fun at all for those of us that don't.
