Next will be recycling your own sewage water, yummy!

Some people already do in a lot of places in the USA . . . Worse is when it is done and it is just dump it into the reservoirs without letting anyone know . . .

Recycling waste water is actually a good idea, IF it can be done safely and economically in terms of energy expended. The thing that gets me about needing a permit to collect rainwater is that how long will it be before that gets expanded to include a permit for a garden? After all, those vegetables and shrubs are consuming rain water that would normally percolate down into an aquifer.

Collecting/reusing GREY water (from anything other than toilets) is no big deal. It's just the BLACK water (from toilets) that's tricky and probably not worth it. You'd still have to do some creative filtering (lots of info out there for this - something about buckets and rocks?), but it's totally reusable. I personally wouldn't drink it unless I have to (I have RO systems after all, so I guess I could), but you can use grey water for flushing toilets (there are systems out there to plumb grey water to fill toilets), watering stuff (drip systems are popular), etc.

Imagine how much extra water you'd have if you could reuse water even just from washing machines and showers...

I am sorry, but that is just funny... I could not imagine being told that....
Can't remember which state that is. Colorado maybe? I think it's cuz they capture rain water too and by capturing it yourself, you're kinda stealing from their supply. Sucks. If it falls on your property, should be yours, right?

Good morning, Voltians,

Horsies are playing and the sun is just coming up in a clear sky. Going hot today. Should be over 90 and even hotter tomorrow.

I have a short list of things to get done this morning including some tree pruning and yard clean up. My gardening buddy is coming over and we are going to do some weeding.

I have housework to do later today when it is hot and I am stuck in the house.

moain', Voltmaniacs.

I should be outside doing some weeding since it's still in the mid 70's. It'll be in the mid 90's later. Mrs. Awsum took the day off so instead I'm vegging out so we can have breakfast together, letting her sleep in for a change. Later we're taking Bo to PetCo for a bath. He hates water, LOL.

Bo's bath turned into an adventure. We made a stop at a surgical supply to get a left hand wrist brace for Mrs. Awsum. From there, on to Princeton and Petco. The place looked almost deserted and we had to go to the checkout register, no customers there, to get the grooming area person.

Anyhow, he had a nice bath and didn't seem to mind it as much as normal. It was hot out, in the mid 90's, so we walked around the strip mall to let him finish drying. then headed on home. That was the start of the adventure.

I pulled into traffic on 295 and noticed a wisp of steam come up from the left front at the corner of the hood and fender. Uh oh! Pulled over, with the "coolant" warning lit and steam was coming from that corner. I popped the hood and looked, but really couldn't see where the leak is. Anyhow, called AAA and that was painful. What's so hard about "mile marker 66.8 on 295 southbound" for a location? They had me on Route 1, a mile back and definitely not 295. Expected wait time was a half hour. No shade, little breeze and a big doggy made it a long wait even though it was about fifteen minutes.

Then it got more interesting. One of us wanted to ride in the Jeep with Bo but they couldn't allow that, rules or law I'm not sure. Poor Bo was really hot, as we all were. The flat bed driver gave us a bottle of ice water for Bo but he is very picky about water and wouldn't drink it. Then the Jeep, with Bo in it, got secured down and we got in the truck for the ride home. The AC in the truck wasn't working and the passenger window regulator was broken so that didn't open. When we got home Mrs. Awsum and I were both soaked and Bo was panting like a race horse. He finally cooled down, after drinking about a half gallon of water.

Tomorrow I get to play "Shade Tree Mechanic" in 95 degree heat. So much fun.

I can barely afford mop heads!

This is dad's house. I have a Hoover FloorMate at home that I'm not willing to lug around. Tiny kitchen. ;)
Just caught me by surprise that I can't buy mop heads locally anymore. Kitchen staples, right? I guess everybody's using steam mops now.

moanin', Voltatics.

We're all recovered and percolating along. It's gonna be another hot one today. It was 74 when I got up at 6, but at least there's a breeze from an approaching front. That won't come through until tomorrow night and Monday though.

I got the radiator mostly out of the Jeep. It's tuff being a "nuts and bolts" guy in a world of quick connect fittings. The only thing left is to figure out how to get the transmission lines off, quick connects, and then install the new one, fill with antifreeze and it should be good to go. Apparently, at some point in the life of my Jeep before I owned it, it took a front end hit hard enough that the radiator met the fan. It didn't puncture anything with the impact, but it did weaken it, and since Murphy is my copilot, it failed at the worst possible moment.
