Aha. You are right. Invasion of the body-snatching termites.Good morning, garden peeps. You don't want to stack wood against the house, it's an invitation for insects to make your home, their home and always check the wood for insects, before you bring it inside.
For the life of me I cannot remember what type of lilly that is...I have had them for over 4 years now along with some bright orange ones(the orange just finished blooming). That flower is incredible. Is it an Asiatic lily?

Carpenter ants are as bad as termites for sure!Good morning, 0mg. My uncle had to call an exterminator because of an invasion of carpenter ants, that entered his house through his firewood.
When we first bought our house we tore the bathroom apart to redo it, and carpenter ants poured out of the floor [emoji54] It was just creepy! Lol We knew before busting into the floor that there was going to be either carpenter ants or termites. We killed and exterminated them, but it was not easy. We ended up having to replace some main frame beams in the bathroom and kitchen. It creeps me out how big those things are! I think the worst part was the cleanup....Those are as bad as, or even worse than, termites.
Good morning, Awsum !!! Yup, termites and carpenter ants.....nasty creatures.
It'll take as long as it takes. Just do what you want, and you will soon be back to "normal".Add wood roaches to the list of creepy crawlies that enter with firewood. The wood roaches lay their eggs beneath the bark of the firewood and hatch when the temperature is just right. Like in a house!
Hiya Folks! I'm back. Sorta. Feeling subdued and reclusive. Sure was nice to read all of your posts though. Feels like ... home.
Nice to see you again, Rave.
Ducky, (love that nick, LOL) you saved me taking and posting photos to find out, for certain, what kind of plant that is we have on the side of our yard near the west fence. I thought it might be a yucca, based on the leaf shape, but you just confirmed it. We've been here for five years and last year was the first time it bloomed. The main stalk went up about six or seven feet tall before it put out buds. There are two of them right next to one another. Last year the one on the left bloomed, this year the one on the right has a stalk about six feet tall and is loaded with buds. I fertilized last year with a slow release fertilizer, the soil here is really poor, and I think that may have helped it bloom.
Remember that Yucca is primarily a desert plant. They have a very long and deep tap-root, and if you do not dig down deep enough, it will not recover. Best to let an established one be.TSometimes I have thought about transplanting it somewhere else where it could have more space, but I then am afraid what if it does not handle the teansplant....
