Thanx for the prayers. Things aren't looking so great right now for us and the results of the scan we're getting today are a little scary since it had to be done almost a month early. Getting ready to leave for the Oncologist now.

I'm sorry to hear that Wuzz. Let us know how it went at the oncologist office if you can.

'moanin, Volties, Ohmies, Ampies and Watties.

We're getting some rain today, so I'll be fooling around inside. Lots of stuff to load on my "new" smartphone. I am trying, hard, to like it but the small screen and tiny keyboard makes it kind of ho-hum to me. I'll probably drop the data plan eventually.

Here's a picture of "mommy". She weighs about 150 or so, hard to tell from the photo and she looks so serious because she's not with her pups. The small litter will make it easier on her though.

She is gorgeous, awsum.

Good morning voltmaniacs.

Doing laundry and dishes and then headed to the Rib Cook-off in Reno. My friend likes to go every year. At least the temps are supposed to be below 90. I don't like events where I sweat my buns off.

Morning Folks. Sweet looking dawg Awsum.
We're getting drowned from this tropical storm down here. Much needed rain as we're almost a foot in deficit. We're on the wet, tornadic side as it's going by us over on the left coast. It's cooler, the air is washed clean and everything is a beautiful shade of green. Soon as it stops I'll have a bunch of mowing to do lol.

Nice, sometimes I miss rain.

Woke up to a beautiful squally t storm here this morning. Tornado warnings have been lifted but wind advisories are in place most if not all of today. Y'all have a bodacious Friday

It is starting to pick up here now - our level of expected rain has dropped, but what we will get - we need...

This should be pretty close to the last of the outer bands from Hermine. Lot's of much needed and very welcome rain. They've got some flooding over on the left coast but that won't happen here. Every native Floridian knows not to stand on the crown of the road and look down at his property. Feel bad for some of the folks that moved here in places where them or the developer didn't know.

'moanin, Voltaticalytes.

We've got the proverbial three feet of sunshine, nice temps and low humidity today with even lower temps, a little lower anyway, tomorrow. Then the rain comes. Looks like the storm will sit off shore for a few days, too. I'm filling up all the gas cans, just in case, but really don't expect any problems other than a lot of rain and some gusty winds. The beaches will take a real pounding, again, though. Sometimes I wonder about the true value of "beach replenishment". Mother nature seems determined to relocate the beaches no matter how much sand gets pumped back onto them. Isn't that "natural"?

Although natural it would cause quite a problem with people's property values, awsum.

Good morning, Voltmanniacs.

I had a great time at the Rib Cook-off yesterday. We each bought ribs and then shared so we could taste a bunch of them. I had 6 kinds total and they were all decent but the Back Forty ribs stood out for me.

I bought a boonie hat since my two bucket hats are getting so old. My mesh Aussie hat has about had it as well but no luck finding a replacement for that one.

Yes, I have to work and it is a four letter word.

I know it would cause a problem with people's property values, Lizzie, but they were dumb enough to buy the beachfront, a whole other problem to me, in the first place. Property that is regularly, or at least periodically inundated by Mother Nature and subject to the whims of storms. Why should public funds be used, constantly, to preserve their property value? Just seems like pouring money down a rat hole to me in the long run. I enjoy the beach, well not as much as I used too, and the tax revenue and jobs it provides, but overall I really wonder how far ahead, considering the "maintenance" costs, we actually are with all these efforts? It just seems environmentally hypocritical.

My favorite straw cowboy hat was getting pretty well shot and I couldn't find a suitable replacement anywhere. Shopping on eBay one day and found the exact same hat for not a lot of money. Amazon had a pretty decent collection too.

I got a "packable" mesh Aussie hat at Amazon for about $30. It's awesome. I didn't have much choice, as the "fits most" sizing falls down around my ears.
Lived thru the hurricane; now if I can just hold on until the power comes back on. 80% of the City of Tallahassee customers lost their power last night. Mine still isn't on. Our city is nice and green, but when these old growth oaks and pines start falling over, it can really take a long time to clean up. Luckily, I work in an "Essential Services" building, so I can keep my necessities charged up. It's going to be a miserable, hot, night, tho.

Those "shore are some purty pups" awsum.
I'll continue to survive, folks, but my nerves will be considerably better when the lights come back on. Sitting here listening to several 2-way radio scanners, and the nonsense that some folks are getting up to...

Talk about "viral" before the Internet ever got off the ground! I decided to look up the phrase "Kilroy was here" from my childhood, where it was a cryptic message in the funny papers, and I never understood what it meant, other than graffiti on a wall. Now I know. If you are curious, too, Snopes has a good synopsis of all I read.

Which makes me wonder about "viral." Why do some things have massive appeal and take off like a rocket? Advertising agencies would like to know.
