How about a couple more photos from our trip.

Here we are 4 wheeling across some slick rock on our way out of Toroweap.

Did I mention we forgot the tent poles. We slept out under the stars for several nights but at Indian Hollow campground, we got the tent fly over us in a creative fashion.

Amazing how a couple of nights in open gets those creative juices flowing ain't it lol

Good morning, Voltpeeps.

Looks like Nevadans came through for each other again during the fire. Although one colt was lost during the fire, there was no other loss of life to horses. People from all over the area brought trailers and helped load horses in spite of super high winds that were blowing semi truck trailers over on the highway. All but one horse were saved. And that area has a lot of horses.

I have to work today and then drive into town to run some errands.

Yes, Wuzz, we had to get creative snce the heater buddy doesn't work if you can't contain the heat.

Good morning Wuzz and fellow Voltpeeps,

I'm glad DW is feeling better this morning, Wuzz. I hope you have a great day.

I'd have money if I didn't have to pay the bills!

I guess I will have to be happy to have somewhere to live:)

Gotta work today and then go grocery shopping.

Have a great day, peeps.

'moanin, Volties.

Glad to hear DW is feeling better, Wuzz. I can't seem to get more than six hours of sleep in a night not matter how hard I try. I've been up, every day, since Sunday at 5AM.

Ain't that the truth, Lizzie. Paying bills is always a painful experience but it is nice to have a nice, warm house to live in with all the other comforts we all seem to enjoy.

I spent the morning rebuilding a bunch of tanks and still have some more to do, but not today. Some of them have been going since June so I guess that isn't too bad considering they all get used daily and refilled every other day. This afternoon will be mixing time...getting low on liquids and they need time to steep so I have to stay ahead of the curve.

Thanks for the concern, Uncle, but what rain? We're actually in a semi drought at the moment and may, and I stress may, get some rain, 1/4 to 1/2", overnight. There has been some strong stuff out in western PA, but it's moving more north than east. The weather dramatists and prognosticators do love to tell a good story though. I saw one interview a first responder out in PA where they had a micro burst go through. They left in the part where he said "this is, probably, the 20th time I've seen this in the 22 years I've been a fire fighter". Guess they slipped and didn't edit that out.

Good morning Volts. Chilly morning here. I knew it was coming but that doesn't mean I have to like it. At least the grass will stop growing now. It's been slowing down with the shorter light cycle but doesn't go dormant until the temps get below 60 at night. I'll probably only have to mow mine once more then the Church once a month. Hope everybody has a great weekend

Good morning, Voltmaniacs.

I'm wondering how your new apartment is working out, Three.

So sweet of you to worry about Awsum, Uncle.

Wuzz, I like the cooler weather, Wuzz, although ours is a lot cooler than yours!!!!

Cash got out yesterday and was running the streets while I was gone. Fortunately, he didn't go far. One of the neighbors called me but I was in Dayton. He said he tried to get Cash but couldn't. So I called my trusty dog watcher and she drove down, opened her car door and Cash jumped in. She locked him up until I got home. I didn't find any holes to fill even though I brought rocks home with me. I'm wondering if Houdini ran out of the gate when I was leaving and I didn't notice. Then, he was stuck outside the fence.

My Pony Baloney was such a turd when I took him out to the big pen. We move forwards and then step back with horses. Patience and persistence is the answer. It has been gratifying that Pony will let me hug him and pet him now.

Awsum, I have been putting off doing my DIY and I need to get with it!

Still very happy. Invited a friendly neighbor over for coffee. We gabbed for ages. I am right next to the laundry room-- a real advantage for socialization.

Apparently someone from where I previously lived was spreading gossip that I am a vicious snitch. That got stopped.

Excellent, glad your new place is working out!!!!

I have about 8000 dishes in the sink and I need to go out and keep working on my burn piles. I really should get my .... in gear instead of hanging out in the house:)

'afternoon, Voltaticalytes.

Nice to hear the new digs are working out, 3. It's always good to have some nearby folks that you can get along with and commiserate with.

Lizzie, we make it a habit to wash everything as we go. I don't know that it's the most efficient way to do dishes but it keeps the "clutter" down.

I ended up mixing a little over a half liter yesterday. Most of that was "regular" flavors, but I have two new ones I'm trying from a new, to me anyway, vendor. The first two I tried from them are already in our "regular" rotation.

We did get some rain, about a half inch, overnight. The big change is the temperature. It was in the 80's all week and this morning it was 48. If we're lucky we'll get to 55 today if the clouds clear and the sun appears. It's supposed to get pretty windy as well, the weather dramatists are talking wind chills in the 30's.

Two little things I forgot to mention...

Mrs. Awsum said she smelled a skunk the other morning when she left for work. I hadn't seen one around and assumed a "visitor" that was defending him/herself. A day later, when I reviewed the security camera footage from overnight, I saw a "woods ....." sneaking across the front lawn moving towards the back yard. We also have a ground hog living in/under one of our sheds. Let's see what happens when the new puppy gets here.

The squirrels are out in force this time of year. It looks like they had a "productive" winter by the number running around. I was doing dishes (Lizzie) and looking out the window, watching one root around in the grass behind my Jeep. All of a sudden a hawk swooped down to grab him, but missed. That's the first time I actually saw that happen in "real life" rather than on film. Incidentally, the old saying that a squirrel remember where it buried its nuts is a pile of doo doo. They're digging in the mulch, black licorice root, I put out in the spring. They just dig wherever they get the urge to dig, the little PITAs.

I watched one the other day, carrying an acorn. Would stop every six inches, investigate the ground, and finally decided on a spot. I think he was looking for a place that would be easy to dig. I went into that area, and couldn't determine exactly in which spot he actually made the deposit.

Hi Volmaniacs.

I'm shopping for a new dishwasher. The reviews are only marginally helpful. I'm leery of Maytag but that is the model I like best because it has a chopper for food particles, It's a good price at $508 which is discounted due to sales at Home Sleezo. I suppose I could just buy it and take my chances. It is highly rated on the Sleezo website and so is a GE but each of them has their one star ratings. Each of them had several thousands of ratings and only a small percentage of unhappy peeps. Arghhh!

Lucky for you.

Hubby is not a dish washer:) I really hate doing dishes but have tried to be good about it but I want a dishwasher!
