Good morning, Voltmaniacs.
The winds are going to continue to be pretty bad today, The farrier did come by yesterday and we were successful in getting the little horses feet trimmed.
The area around Mt Trumbull was originally settled about 1918. The area was always very poor. The town was called Bundyville. I
Interestingly, they were able to do some basic dry land farming of the traditional corn, squash, beans until the Dust Bowl days. After the Dust Bowl, the climate had changed permanently and people turned to running cattle.
The population topped out at about 300 people but today, basically, no one lives there full time. It was a Mormon community.
Essentially, the lack of drinking water limited the ability of people to live in the area. There are very few springs and those few springs were taken over by a few individuals.
This is the Mt Trumbull schoolhouse. They have a huge amount of local/family history and photos inside. This is a recently built replica as the old schoolhouse had burned down a few years ago. The community decided to rebuild it to hang onto their heritage.

After we left Bundyville, we climbed up and up. We traversed a cliff and it was scary going up that one lane dirt road that was a ledge on the side of the cliff face. Here is the view from the top.
