Celtic...I really enjoyed your photos. Especially that swirly one. :p

Lizzie...Sorry to hear about willie. I hope she gets over being so shy. It's so sad to see a cowering, scared dog.

All that talk last night about books made me have some really strange dreams. I hardly ever dream or at least I don't remember them but I remember these.

Dream 1: I was flying in a jet that had just been repaired but they didn't get all the bugs out of it. The plane was in trouble. I hate flying because I have a fear of falling so that dream ended suddenly. I think the spaceship talk prompted that one.

Dream 2: I had a flat tire and stopped at a gas station to get it fixed only the tire was made of wood and had a crack in it so the mechanic said I had to buy a new one because he wasn't going to put it back on my car. I wanted to kill him. That dream ended suddenly because I'm not a murderer. This one was prompted by our talk about murder mystery books.

Dream 3: This one was erotic but before I got to the good part it ended. Probably because it was going to be kinky. Shades of Gray. 8-o

Maybe today we could talk about Daniel Steele or Harold Robbins so I can have a complete dream with a good and pleasant ending.

I'm sorry. And I just posted some info on books that may have inspired murders. Don't read about it!

Here's a dream for y'all. Years ago, I had a dream that I was in a car with 3 friends. We were driving on a narrow mountain road and were going too fast. I told the driver to slow down, or we would go over the side of the mountain. It was too late, we went over the side. As the car plummeted to the bottom, I remember saying to myself "I'm going to die". Then I woke up.

Here's the kicker; when I awoke, I realized that the 3 friends that I was with in the dream, had all died in real life. Two died in a freak accident, when they were 18 and the third died of cancer, when he was 29.

Our subconscious is a tricky thing.

Hey, Jerry. I missed you. I finished Evangeline the other day. Remember you suggested I read it? Very sad. I kept thinking to myself that she should just forget Gabriel and marry some other eligible guy. I'm less noble. That's what I would have done. I don't think the average person has that kind of dogged devotion in them. Now I've started at the beginning of the Longfellow collection and I'm reading his short poetry.

Hi Sandy, I haven't been posting much on the forum, recently. But reading about Terry's dreams, reminded me of my dream, so I just had to post something here. LOL

I will try to be less AWOL in the future. :)

Glad that you read Evangeline. I don't think that many people know what was done to the Acadiens.

I certainly didn't know about it. It sounds a lot like what was done to the Native Americans. But at least the Acadians could settle elsewhere, where they pleased. They weren't shuttled off to reservations. Basil found a nice little homestead in Louisiana, for instance, and he liked it better there because the winters weren't so severe.

When I got to the part where the villagers were all gathered at the seaside, awaiting deportation, while their cows went un-milked at their farms, I could only think, "What a waste!" Did the British eventually move people into the areas where the Acadians had lived, or did they just want the Acadians out? Is this where the hostility between French Canadians and English Canadians started?

I know it, Terry. It's a bit of a long story, but it could have been me, who died in that freak accident at the age of 18. If I had said "yes", instead of "no", I would have been one of the victims. That has haunted me, since the day that it happened. :(

Whoa! That would cause me some trouble too.

BTW, I've read that we can't dream about anything that we haven't experienced, hence you not dieing in your dream. I don't know if this is true or not but it has been my experience. When ever I've gotten close to doing something in my dreams that I've never done or seen before I wake up. It doesn't explain all the bad dreams that vets have though.
