Sandy, I just closed the tab that I snagged the sewing horsey from. Have you looked into those equestrian blankey repair places yet? Might save you from having to buy new ones. Here's one in NY: Clothes Horse, The

I was thinking of that. What worries me is how they can sew into the surface and retain the waterproof qualities of the blanket. I have a guy who washes my blankets every spring, and I think he does repairs, too. I plan to ask him about it. But thanks for that other link. I could mail my blankets to them if this guy who will wash them can't fix them. They are too far away to drive over there with the blankets.

Meanwhile, a patch of duct tape may work for the rest of the season. I patched the first blanket and tomorrow, I'll take it back to the barn. I have to decide if it'll be cold enough for using then. It's supposed to warm up the next few days, so I might use the blanket with light fill and then when (not if) it turns colder, try the blanket I have here that I've patched.

Happy vapiversary, Celticluvr and Tmcase!!!! And may you have many more!!!

WOW!! You guys must have spent a lot of time preparing the aniversary e-cards. That was great.

I had mine the first week of March, when I was sulking. ;)

sewing really doesn't hurt the waterproof qualities much at all. If you are really worried about that, after it has been sewed, you can paint some plastic resin on the mend. Did you duct-tape it on both sides? She might rub off the duct tape and open up the hole if you tape it only on one side.

Happy vapiversary a couple weeks late, then.

As for the blanket, what alerted me to sewing maybe ruining the waterproofing, one company advises not getting the horse's name stitched on the blanket but on one of the straps so as not to ruin the waterproofing. Maybe there's something to paint over a repair, or maybe just re-waterproof the whole blanket? I'll find out how it's done and go from there.

Glad you got over sulking and happy belated vapaversary to you, Zero.

Double posts are back!

Awsum - how's the weather? Did your snow melt?

We might get some rain, which I would love.

The horses are getting along just fine. Nevada is a smart little goober. I went to feed alfalfa pellets. I gave Wiseguy his through the rail. Nevada left the stall and went around through the gates to the other stall and said "Feed me in here." So cute. They are now eating out of two different feeders part of the time.

I'm tired, it's cloudy and I think I will maybe do the laundry and clean the house up a bit. I'm tired of outside chores. I need to make some more 18 mg ejuice, as well. I didn't bother with the dishes last night so that is on the list.

We had another dusting of snow last night. That seems to be the new tradition around here. It's snowing now, quite heavily, though I don't think it's going to amount to much, since the Internet weather didn't even mention it. It's weird that way. One day they said 0% chance of precipitation, and out my window, it was snowing like mad. That's the day I stopped relying on what they said. When I drive and listen to the car radio, it seems their weather forecast is much more in touch with reality.

    Thank you everyone!
Rave, thank you for those incredibly kind words. I am opening up a little more and gaining new friends. My fiance told me that I can show y'all our work, but you have to wait a day or two. I have super slow internet and if I put stuff on Photobucket it will turn off fiance's internet. Yeah I know our wiring is all kinds of screwed up. We have a phone that if you pick it up it also cuts off the 'net.

    Sitting down, facing forward.
We got about an inch of snow overnight and it's starting to melt, temps in the mid 30's, despite the wind. Right now it's gusting around 40 or 45mph.

I like your drip system, Lizzie. I'm planning on some shovel work to put a mini sprinkler in the flowerbed the idiots 4wheeled through when I put in the flex conduit for the front yard IP camera. I've been looking at my next camera. Grandstream has one with the same resolution and night vision capabilities that also has remote zoom and focus. That would be very handy looking across the street at the telephone pole to catch the ground wire thief.
