Hiya Everyone!!
Happy Birthday, Tritium!
I'm just stopping in to catch up before I take off again. Apparently, the kids in this neck of the woods get a fall break. Never had that when I was in school. But then, we had a longer summer vacation than they do. I'm going back to BF's for a couple of days to help him work on his place.
Evie - I hope the youngun feels better soon.
Starsong!!!! So good to see you again! I'm glad that you were able to solve your problem with a little assistance.
My youngun's house is getting there. Here are a couple of shots. They now have almost all of the exterior done. They've changed the design and decided to add a bump-out at the end of the bedroom to extend it 6'. The bump-out will be shaped like a bay window with
three planes. A big window will be in each of 'em. But now they have to put in two more of those concrete support pillars. They'll have to dig 'em out. Everything's a muddy mess here. My BF is coming to the rescue with his concrete mixer so they won't have to order a load for just two pillars or mix it by hand. Bad enough having to dig the holes by hand. No auger is large enough for the forms.
Here's what it looked like from above. Dave's fiance climbed way the heck up in a tree with Dave looking up at her. Ahhh ... to be young and immortal. The deck is painted with leftover latex paint to temporarily protect it from moisture. Those cracks that you're seeing will be filled in with thin strips of wood soon. He ... missmeasured. He made a 3/4' mistake when they first started putting down the boards and it carried all the way across. But, he'll fix it.
This is how it looks now with the opening remaining for the bump-out. They'll have a beautiful view from the bedroom:
I'll be back in a coupla days. Everyone take care of yourselves. Sorry for the fly by.
