Sitting down, facing forward.
When we left the house at about 4 to go to the Anniversary party it was spitting rain. We drove around the block, basically, to get some flowers and by then it was a full blown monsoon. It stopped on the way to the party. It was weird, we were driving east on 537 and could see the rain across the fields, pouring down, while it was dry where we were at that point. The rain held off for the party which was good because of the crowd.

The rain hasn't started up again, yet, but it probably will. At least the temps are staying under 80, but that'll change, too, on Monday. Back into the 90's again.

I remember a wall of rain when I was a kid. My friend Martha and I were out playing on the sidewalk when it came toward us. We ran and stayed ahead of it for maybe 1/4 of a mile, then turned back and got soaking wet. We didn't mind too much; it was warm out.

We had 100 here yesterday with a heat index of 115. I got things done in the early morning and late evening but felt like a caged lion the rest of the day. I know what you mean Lizzie. It's not going to be any better until next Thurs or Friday here. They're calling it dangerous heat and for a change I believe them as much as I love summer.

Happy summer solstice indeed!!!!!

It is the longest day of the year and I am up extra early for it:)

I definitely want to get stuff done early in the day.

Wuzz - That kind of heat is really bad and it is humid where you live so that makes it worse!!!!

Uncle - an incredible tribute to Fathers Day.

We are celebrating Fathers Day on Tuesday with a smoke turkey BBQ just for the folks.

You are up early, Lizzie, especially for a weekend. Take it easy and watch the heat, you, too, Wuzz. It's a soggy morning here but is supposed to dry out a bit during the say, then get wet again this evening. Temps and humidity in the 80's. I've got to get to the garden and get some of the weeds cleared. All the rain has really let them get out of hand.

Guess I meet that criteria in Unc's post in a few places. I was an Asst. Scoutmaster from the time my son was old enough to get in Cub Scouts all the way through until he made Eagle. After he made it I stayed on with the Troop for a total of about 12 years. Very rewarding experience and I hope I made a difference, at least to some of them.

I'm sure you did, Wuzz! :thumb:
Did you teach them how to wrestle alligators?
Taught them a lot about how not to get hurt outdoors and how to respect nature. Best I could do. Tore some meniscus in my knee showing them how to climb a tree to keep their food away from bears lol. I should have thrown a rope over the limb but no, I had to be a showoff.

Cracking me up, Wuzz. Yep, showing off is a bad habit for many of you mens:)

[Alright, don't flame me, women can do silly showing off as well but we are far less likely to do something that would actually hurt us.]

Good morning, Voltmaniacs. Hubby and I weeded in the garden already this morning.

We [and I mean Hubby] need to finish the gutters.

Have a great day!
