ME - Too, but an inexpensive one for inside "My" apartment, especially NEED to have record of Management coming in when they want without informing "Me" . . . :censored: :-x

THANKS ! ! ! Ya' taught an "Old" Man a new grammar trick today too . . .

YEP - Can't wait until he is in "Your" arms . . . AND - Just in case "You" forgot:

HEY THERE - @Tritium . . .

Look at what I found . . . Hopefully, it will make Shopping for American Sizes easier for Ya', especially since it has Men's Body Measurements in both cm & inches listed and also shows a variety of different size possibilities such as: What are the sizes for Men's Formal Clothing; What sizes there are that would equal Small, Med, Large, X-Large, etc. for Casual Men's Clothing; in addition to Slim Fit, Athletic Fit, etc., OH - Than there is the size of Socks too:

Been busy working around the house, so I'm finally chiming in, LOL.

The problem with those size charts is that they are a "formula". I have a 44" chest and according to the chart it means I have a 17" neck, 16" neck on me, and a 38.5" waist, 34" on me and I could lose some weight. My waist when I'm at my right weight is a 32 and that's a real, tape measure, 32 and my chest stays at 43-44.

As far as cameras go, I would suggest sticking to a camera at 720P resolution if you want a useable picture, even inside the house. Less than 720P will be too grainy to be useful, think about the "security camera" videos you usually see on the news. Crappy, blurry and no really good detail. Even the ones in the banks, 1080P or better, leave something to be desired.

The Grandstream cameras I have can send alerts, either video or text, to a phone or email. It's a PITA to set up and unless you're familiar with routers and messaging you'll probably need a techie or nerd to help you. I'm to paranoid to open the ports on my router to the outside world. There are too many people fishing around for security cameras and they don't need mine to fish for. I will say that Grandstream has provided reasonable good support. I tried a Loftek and had problems with it, they're support was nonexistent and Amazon was nice enough to take it back.

Above all, you'll get what you pay for with cameras. Cheap = not so good. There are lots of moderately priced ones, for indoor security use, that will do what you want, but we're talking upwards of $100 or so.

The big disadvantage, that is rarely mentioned, is that to be truly effective you'll need a PC running to handle event recording. Remember video is a big file, especially if it runs long, and can fill up a SIMM card in a hurry. Then, you're stuck taking out the SIMM card and reviewing the video on a PC anyway. I'm using Blue Iris to manage the camera and video, but the PC runs 24/7.

One more after thought...cameras with IR capability means that they have infrared LEDs in an array around the lens. The infrared LEDs also emit an dull red glow which makes the camera kind of stand out in dark conditions, especially if you now what you're looking for. It can also limit night time range, but inside the house that shouldn't be much of a problem.

moanin', Voltatics.

It's another frosty morning here. The temperatures during the day keep pushing 60 but at night drop below 30. That seems to add a lot of extra moisture to the air. This morning there's a light fog so everything is really coated with frost, even the tree tops.

@awsum140 . . . Boy have Ya' given "Me" a lot of good information to think about . . .
boy-thank-you-smiley-emoticon.gif

As for those sizing charts - Yea, they can be somewhat off, however they do give a person something to work with when trying to find something that will fit them . . . Worse is the general sizes used and what really fits someone like Ya' mentioned, especially now since the fashion industry decided to revamp them and change what clothes sizes are compared to real body sizes - particularly for women . . . "Myself" - I really never found anything to fit "Me" perfectly when I purchased clothing off the rack . . . There was always some form of adjustment - even professional tailoring - that NEEDED to be done for clothing to actually fit . . . Well as long as Ya' don't gain or lose weight too often . . . ;)

NOW - As for what I really should be size wise, let "Me" just say, while I am not to far off - I really am too short for "My" Weight . . . In reality, I should be about 6' or more, but at this stage of the game I am getting shorter (already lost an inch in height and about 50 + lbs in the past 10 years) . . .

Yeah, being too short for our weight is a common problem, LOL. The thing that gets me is that I used to be able to lose weight pretty easily. Now it's a real struggle. Maybe I should actually use that elliptical and weights I have.

Check this camera out. I ran into it browsing around a minute ago. The reviews seem to say it is very simple to set up as long as you know the password for the router, has a 720P picture and remote pan/tilt which is really handy. The price is pretty good as well, under $100.

Good morning, Voltfashionistas.

Looks like we didn't have a hard freeze last night so I am trying to water this morning.

Pony did better at having his .... touched yesterday. I can't really groom his tail yet but I did manage to run the comb on the top layer of his tail. And, he is figuring out that I want him to hold still while I groom him and rub his ..... Nice!

I sat in a chair inside the round pen for awhile with Pony when we were done. He came over to snuffle me several times. One time he tried to nibble me but I told him "No, no!" and tapped his nose with my finger. There will be no nibbling the owner under any circumstances. I handed out treats in a bucket several times so he may have been seeing if I had more treats.

I need to reorganize the freezer now that the elk is frozen solid. Thaw out some older game meat for Chinese food tonight. Maybe take out one of those fancy roasts I bought on super sale for dinner Tues, Wed, and Thurs. Love a roast. Cook it once and eat for three days. Plus, I might even get some lunch meat out of that roast.

Yeah, we called Penny the Corgi, Penny the Piranha. She was a snapper. She was such a serious puppy. No sense of humor as a baby. She got more free spirited as she got older.
haha! Thats funny! Their sharp teeth hurt so much when they are puppies too.

Report on the kids.

I ordered ballet tickets this evening for the 2 girls and me. We'll go see The Nutcracker on Sunday, the Ithaca Ballet. The girls take ballet lessons, so I think they should see a real ballet. In fact, the first girl said today that she's getting bored with ballet lessons. She said it's good exercise, but she thinks it's boring. I said if it is, maybe she should think up something else, like swimming, which her older brother is into, and do that instead. I wish I could teach her to swim. She says she can't get across the pool, but I bet I could teach her how. I've taught many kids to swim in my time. But there are only so many things I can volunteer to teach them, and I'm going to teach her to crochet. She talks about it all the time, can hardly wait. She asked me when she could learn, and I said, "At Christmas time."

The girls read the plot of The Nutcracker today so they would understand what the ballet is about. I warned them that there would be no words, only dancing, so if they wanted to follow the story, they needed to know it ahead of time. For the new girl, I read the story to her, but the first girl had to read it.

The little boy is doing fairly well. I decided next lesson to try a very simple word search. Can he do it? I'm not sure, but you never know till you try. I think he has learned his right from his left at this point and is on his way to reading the words "right" and "left."

I may call all 3 kids together for a carol sing, as I did last Christmas. The little one knows "Jingle Bells," I think. He was trying to sing it in the car while I drove them up to their house. I pick them up at the restaurant and go to the house for the lessons, then sometimes return some or all of them to the restaurant, where I park so I can walk about 1/2 block away for the new girl.

The older boy did some very sloppy writing for his writing assignment, and I told him that was unacceptable, since he has written neater stuff. Why does he blow me off like that? I can get his cooperation by telling his mom, but he just isn't interested in doing anything without threats. I wish I could inspire him.

I guess I just have to keep trying with him and not get too upset if he never has much enthusiasm. The other kids are enthusiastic, and that makes up for it a little.

The new girl really struggles over sounding out words, but she's getting better at it. She is smart and a hard worker, so I have no fears about her.

So, the upcoming ballet on Sunday is the big thing, I guess. Otherwise, it's pretty much business as usual.

This last Sunday, I went to a party at Deb's. She's the one who commissioned so many of my drawings for Christmas last year, if you remember. Also, she owns Maija, the horse I thought of leasing and then gave up. Luckily, Maija has someone else -- someone I know -- leasing her. Maybe this other person will buy her. I hope Maija finds a good owner and someone to be "her person."

Deb took my friend Harriet's 2 horses because Harriet wasn't feeding them. I don't know what's going on with Harriet. I think she is losing her mind. Deb has been worried about Harriet's horses for over a year, and last year, Deb took some hay to Harriet for her horses, but Deb said Harriet still had that hay in her barn. When Deb asked Harriet why she wasn't feeding her horses, Harriet said she couldn't because their stalls were dirty! When Deb suggested she clean the stalls, Harriet said she couldn't because she didn't have a wheelbarrow! So Deb said to feed them outside, but I guess Harriet couldn't comprehend that. I'm glad Deb took Harriet's horses. Deb has such a kind heart! She really doesn't need 2 more useless horses that need special care. They are both too old and broken down to be of any real use, so that's a complete charity case. My hat's off to Deb!

I asked Deb if Harriet is losing her mind. She always did seem a bit odd and spacey to me. But Deb says she seems to be coherent on any other topic than the horses. I think there's something seriously neurologically wrong with Harriet, though, having seen subtle signs over the years.

moanin', Voltaticalytes.

Happy Birthday to celticluvr! And many Happy Returns, too!

It's not quite as cool this morning, 33, and we're supposed to be in the mid 60's by the weekend. Never the less, we're getting an oil delivery today. It's probably going to get cold in the not to distant future, after all it is winter despite "climate change".

I hope your link install goes well, Tritium. Better still if there are lots more of them in the near future!

Happy Birthday to Celti.

You are still a baby.

Good morning, Voltcelebrators.

Today is playing with horsies day. Yesterday, Wiseguy was absolutely full of beans. He was charging around the pen. He is losing some of his intimidation factor with Pony so he is upping his game. He charged out of the stall at full speed towards Pony. Made me laugh!!!!

Yesterday, they took a nap together and were practically nose to nose. So cute. Pony is starting to relax and enjoy himself more. I like seeing that.
