OK, can't resist. One more of Leo and me when we picked him up in SC. We both felt like criminals as we left...he kept looking out the back window and whining and yapping.



Lizzie, FlickR doesn't have any popups, so far anyway, but does have its' own quirks. The URL for the photo needs to be edited to remove the photo name and a signature line after that. That's easy to do and you get terabyte of space for free. PB is back up and working, but the popups are way too much plus there doesn't seem to be any way to send them a comment which says, to me, they don't care what their user community thinks or has tosay.

I lost my knife today during mushroom hunting... Had it for 8 years and now i am sad and angry lol.

I had to spend all my paypal cash for a new gerber powerframe..

Now i am preparing to go outside of the house for a coffee, haven't been out there for almost a year.

Yep, Chunky.I always said if I found a cute chunky smaller riding horse like a Halflinger I would want one. Chunky is a Halflinger cross and 13.2 hands. That translates to a lot smaller horse than all these 15, 16 hand horses you see all the time. I talked to Hubby and he actually said yes. The horse is 4 years old so young but not a baby. He has not been ridden but he has been ground worked, and he has had a saddle on him. A horse really shouldn't be ridden before three and then only lightly so 4 is probably a good age. He probably won't have too many bad habits that are ingrained. I can hope.

If I didn't buy him he was on his way to Mexico and probably would end up on someone's plate in Europe. I didn't buy him to save him since I fell in love with his sweet face and thought his size was perfect and I liked his color. Also, he is already a gelding which I like. But, the fact that he was going to be shipped to Mexico did kind of push me to say yes.

My Son and family are getting ready to leave this morning after a week long visit. Finally got to hold and enjoy our new Granddaughter. I was praying my Bride would get to see her. Time to cook them some breakfast before they hit the road for an 1100 + mile trip home. Hope everybody is having a great weekend

Picking up the horse at 1:30. Hubby says he is excited to go get the horse. Kind of surprised me on that!

Wuzz, so glad you and the Mrs. got to see and hold your granddaughter. I hope they have a safe, uneventful, albeit long, ride home.

We're still working on getting Leo into a routine. He started something funny last night. He wouldn't go out in the yard with Mrs. Awsum after dark. He was fine if I went with them, but if she took him by herself he'd sit on the side porch or, if carried into the yard, run right back to the porch. Thankfully he started walking the yard with her again. We think the shadows from the lights had him spooked. He weighs about 18 pounds, checked this morning.

Lizzie, I already said on fb That he is absolutely gorgeous and he is!!!! I wish I could pet him and give him treats! And of course Your other critters. Especially the goats, I still miss my Ziggy. You have a beautiful fur family.

Awsum, That pup is sooo Cute. Wish I could give him a little cuddle.

Here is Chunky. 13.2 hands, big boned, probably a quarter pony although originally they said Halflinger cross, gelding, 4 years old, saddled and bridled but not ridden.

Chunky loaded like a dream but when we tried to back him off, it turned into a near disaster. He got really close to jamming his leg as he forced himself to turn in the trailer to get out. I jumped out because I was afraid of being crushed. He jumped out head first and we all stood there breathing for a minute. He was fine and I managed to get him into the round pen where he is going to stay for a few days.

He seems sweet and respectful. I asked him to step back to get his hay and he did

Chunky looks good, Lizzie! I'm betting you'll work with him backing up so you don't get jammed up again. That can be nerve wracking to say the least.

When we were in VA I ended up feeding some cows by dumping bagged feed into a trough. They all made a beeline for the feeding trough when they saw the Geo coming knowing that meant, maybe, food. I felt like Moses parting the Red Sea as I walked up with the bag. They moved out of the way so I could pour the food. I tried to be "assertive" while not "threatening" and it worked well. Unfortunately, we didn't have the camera along and Mrs. Awsum didn't take any shots with her phone.

We're definitely making progress with Leo. One accident yesterday when I wasn't quite fast enough, and that was on a runner rather than the main carpet. Only one potty break overnight, too. He's getting used to the crate and only complains a little when put into it. Being alone with him, that's pretty important because I do have to go out occasionally for little things like food and such.
