So far I have about 4 generic atomizers that after trying to boil or using alcohol to clean them have VERY hard draws. So far that is the only way I've tried cleaning them. I am reluctant to go buy a steamer because I'm afraid it will not work like the other cleaning methods. Can anyone shed some light on this for me? Does the steaming method really work better than the other methods? These atomizers work but with difficulty. I even measured the atomizers with a multimeter and they all should work great but don't. Any tips?

...the basic idea is soaking the atomizer (DSE901) in a shot glass or small glass with 99% rubbing alcohol

I did this to my atomizer except I used compressed air for computers to blow it out...

After it air-dried, the thing makes WAY more vapor and gives a nice, smooth draw. :thumb:

Yep! Alcohol is my favorite cleaner, others seem to like portable steamers, but I'm not sure if I want to invest in one. I'm having a hard time finding compressed AIR, I can only find CO2, I'm sure it would work, but it might cool it down too much. Maybe I'll fire my pellet gun through it! without a pellet mind you:D

It works! Gets quite alot of the alcohol taste out after 3 or 4 shots. Make sure you tell the people you live with what you're doing before attempting!
BANG ! BANG! BANG! BANG!
"WTF are you doing?!?!?!?"
"Cleaning!"
:D

Karen and Misty - everytime I've cleaned my atomizer by boiling or with alcohol it always has a hard draw for the first 30-50 puffs afterwards. Once I get through that phase though it's perfect again. I really think the main reason is that I don't let them dry for long enough. If the atomizer is still a bit wet in there it would cause it not to heat as fast or as hot. Try to smoke through it for a bit and see if that helps.

well, I tried a first tonight! I was vaping away reading the forum...thinking this atomizer needs to be cleaned. It was a bit hot too. I had a glass of chardonay sitting next to me with an ice cube in it. Yes...I plopped the atomizer in the glass of old chardonay and swished it around. blew it out, wiped the battery contact, reconnected it and vap away. omg...it was like having a personal humidifier with a carmel taste. My cart had green tea in it. Now I wonder can you add chardonay to your carts...and should I drink the wine I just swished the atomizer in...lol

I was at the sharper image today and saw one of those ultrasonic jewelry cleaners that only use water no chemicals to clean and the only thing I was thinking about was using it on my atomizer. Has anyone tried this?

There was talk of this some time ago, I don't think people had any success with it, if I'm wrong somebody will be along to correct me soon ! :):)

I bought a denture ultrasonic cleaner at DrugMart and used it with a Polident tablet made for cleaning partials - "cleans tough stains, safe on metal surfaces" and it worked pretty well. I think rinsing with hot water or alcohol/vodka would do just as nicely. The best cleaner I found was a hand-held steamer. Then I blow the atomizer out with some canned air. May be overkill, but it works. Mommyshann is right - you have to puff on it for a while before it works again. Blow hard on the battery end to get as much water out as you can, then ideally let it dry cart side down overnite. Be sure to drip a few drops of e-liquid and let it sit for a few minutes before using.

Interesting.. I put them right in the water for about 10 minutes. The atomizers were not totally dead, just under performing due to some new juice that I went a little overboard when refilling the cabs.. I guess I will let them dry overnight. I bought these on ebay and they have been working great.
Today I got my first dsc 901's. I bought 5. I am really excited to try them out but the damn batteries take 12 hours to charge the first time so I am being patient and using my super mini's with Johnson creek juice till they are done charging.
