Welp, looks like a few of us are in for some long, anxious hours. Good time to find a good, sturdy "hidey hole". :(

Edit to add: Dale, youngest lives just outside of Memphis and told me today that they are expecting snow as well. She was running a couple days ago in a t-shirt and shorts.

Yep, we were up in the 70's ya know :?: Going down into the lower 30's tonight, I've had a good little sinus headache today thanks to these weather changes

My offering this evening kind of pales in comparison to Qew's :?: Trade ;)
Better yet, cut me a hunk of that chocolate cake and I'll plop this ice cream on it :D

Shoot, I think they shut down the whole state of MS with these storms! One touched down close to our home in Hattiesburg but unfortunately that albatross escaped damage I think. The office shut down and no one told me so the phone calls started rolling to me! I was like....WTH am I getting these calls for then realized I was the only one working.

We had about 6-8 inches of snow last night but nothing shut down. :) It was taller than the puppy so we had to go shovel him a path. Poor little guy is kind of sick. Had him to the vet yesterday and although he's still playful, his stomach is all messed up.

Kayte - his name is Rocket. He's a speedy little thing. I need a full time puppy sitter so I can get some work done. Mostly, I work when he sleeps. Otherwise, I'm watching to see if he needs to go out. lol

MommaB - how did I miss your birthday? Happy belated Day of Birth!!

    Happy Happy Birthday mommabird!!!

    :banana::banana::banana::bday::banana::banana::banana:

Such a beautiful family picture and so fun that they came to cook for you. With chocolate in hand, no less! You trained them well! lol Hope you enjoyed your lunch and have a fabulous dinner!

Ms.C - he is sooo cute! What perfect timing for him to fall into your laps. I was thinking you needed a baby. ;) Have you picked a name?

The UK's robins are so cute, dale!
I haven't seen one here yet. Good thing. It's been snowing all day. Huge temp drop from what's it been. I've got flowers that are sending up new spring leaves! Even have a viola blooming. Silly plants. It's only February!

Angel - what kind of storms are you supposed to have??? No tornadoes! No no no. Those scare me to death.:shock::shock:

Hey chilicat - how are you liking your first pair of stretchy pants?

There won't be any tips tonight. Doug has been working on special orders and getting tips set up for me to work on instead. Which I better go do so he can start on them tomorrow. :D

Thanks kayte [emoji4] They are keepers!

We love you too, mommabird!

Chooch... are you under tornado watch, too?? Yikes for all of you over there! Maybe you should make a mad dash westward. We seldom get those thing around here and when we do, they're little ones.

Angel, I can't even begin to imagine what it was truly like to experience Katrina. I was glued to the tv those days, watching it unfold, hoping for the best for everyone in it's path - like most of the country.

My sister (Debbie) was in Moore, Oklahoma for the huge tornado outbreak in '99. She rode it out with 18 other people, crammed into a shelter built for four. She spent the next couple of weeks helping out people that had lost everything and were having to live in 'shelters'. She'd call every day to decompress and tell me the stories she had heard each day. (Some were totally amazing, some heartbreaking, some inspiring.)

You guys better be checking in and letting us know you're alright. :sneaky:

Dale... enjoy the snow! We got 3 or 4 inches today, but it was melting pretty quick. It's all white out there, but not really stacking up. Going to be freezing cold tonight though so it'll still be white tomorrow.
Is it way to early for it to be that warm there? I always thought you guys had a very short winter, so the warm was pretty normal. No?

Qew - that cake looks delicious! Party time!

It really is too early for so much warmth Kayte, normally Feb would be one of our colder months :?: Not this year!
We haven't gotten any snow, still raining ;)

3 a.m. and was up and hearing a lot of wind blowing. Earlier much wind AND rain.......but slept through it, hubby said. Wished it would dry up. Roofer coming to replace flashing around chimney as soon as it does. Ceiling getting water stained! :(
Good morning Chooch, sorry about the roof/ceiling :(

Morning all...well the storms have passed. The power only blinked off for a minute, but came right back on. It's still pretty windy out there, but the sun is out and the wind should die down later today.
Good morning Angel, sounds like you got off pretty easy :)
