I'm in for eating something sinful! It's been a long day! I drove 4.5 hours to go see my brother today and we spent three great hours together and then another 4.5 hours home! Shoot, I am pooped! But it was worth it!
Oh my! I would hate a trip like that but I do envy you a good relationship with your brother :)

Are we to drink that or spoon it, Dale? Think the coffee beans should be a clue.......but I'm clueless! Ha!
Spoon Chooch! That's cake and pudding ;)

Ohhh that looks good. Glad you brought in more after chooch was full, dale. I could go for a midnight snack!

My day was.... crazy. Which is why I was a no-show this evening (yesterday evening by the time anyone reads this. ha!) Sorry about that!

My son and his family came over to eat pizza and lend me a hand with my projects. DIL painted a couple of windowsills and a door. What a huge help! They'll need another coat, but hey, I'm halfway there now.
I ran from one thing to another and hugged a grandkid every time one got near enough. ;) Made for a good productive day.

You know that bundle of stuff I pulled out from under the dresser? lol Well... there was some old art work I'd done long ago and forgotten all about. One was a pretty simple drawing of dogwood blooms. It was exactly what I needed for one of my projects! I transferred it to the window inset things (instead of blackout curtains, I'm making something to set in the windows in the bedroom at night) and pulled out my sheet rock mud again. It's seriously fun to get to play in mud again at my age. These are turning out way better than the panels I did in the kitchen. :D Hopefully will finish them up tomorrow (today..)

Ms.C - I'm celebrating the find with you!!! That's beautiful and would have been a terrible loss.

Angel - somehow I knew that's what you'd do. I know how much you love your little angel. Praying for you!

Dale - what a wonderful photo! It's easy to see how much you three love and enjoy each other. Glad you had a nice time!

Chili - What a day! That's neat that you have such a great relationship with your brother. Those are definitely worth the drive.

G'morning, Dale; and thank you for some interesting variation on breakfast. :) Beans and mushrooms and tomatoes.......Why not?! Sometimes we've eaten breakfast at night. Ha!

Kayte, anyone who would volunteer to paint my trim/moulding around door and windows is "aces" in my book! :) Have not seen this "window inset instead of curtains thing" concept before. Do you take them off during the day and must store them somewhere until night? Your new found "treasure bungle" continues to delight.......Maybe I ought to go up and search the attic. Ha!

I'm in time for breakfast today! The bacon, eggs and orange slices look like just the thing! I need protein to make it through this day That or I'll eat the powdered sugar thing and lay on the couch and watch movies all day.

Chooch... yes, I take them out of the windows during the day and just lean them against the wall. That's okay because they'll be pretty wherever they are. It's too bad my wall isn't long enough to have a place to hang them during the day, then they'd look like they belong there, but I really don't see stretching the wall at this point. (Although I've tried to talk Doug into it in the past. The enclosed wood shed is on the other side of the bedroom and I've always thought we should just knock down the wall and make the bedroom bigger. He only thinks he needs a place for firewood, right?)

The window inset thing may be a bad idea. It was purely for ascetic reasons. I had heavy red velvety type drapes before and am so sick of the dark in there, so I only wanted white sheers hanging. Except I have to have it pitch black to sleep. So.. that was the birth of the idea... necessity vs. want. I could have made shutters, but that would mean more flat board and more trim. This idea uses 1/2 the 'stuff' so is more frugal. I consider being cheap a challenge to the decorator in me. ;)

I'll get pics soon so you can see what I'm talking about. :D

Morning...er wait, afternoon, everyone! I actually slept in a bit longer today...I've tried to do that each day this weekend, but for some reason kept waking up sooner than I wanted. At least I got to sleep in today though...thanks for the yummy breakfast Dale...didn't realize how hungry I was! :D

Hey, Kayte, being "creatively cheap" in decorating truly makes for some amazing results. I've done the same thing throughout the yrs and have been genuinely more pleased than if I'd gotten "store bought."

When we first moved in this house in 1992, I purchased off white aluminum mini blinds for all the windows. Think I got them at Home Depot. They've long since gone out of fashion, but still look brand new. Every couple of yrs. I take them down and lay them full length out across the deck or driveway (when there was no deck), fill a bucket with with soap, water and a bit of Clorox, dunk and sweep with broom both sides, rinse with hose, then drape over porch railings to dry. Ta dah! Now that I vape instead of smoke, I can stretch to every 3 yrs........provided I dust them. :)

Any "curtains" I have are made of sheets except the store bought lace curtains I got from Sears and "re-jiggered" to make them long enough (ceiling to floor) for the living and dining rooms. All curtains are merely used to "frame" and soften the windows and are never closed......although you can. I love the fact I can take them down and throw them in the wash machine and dryer till damp and hang them back up.......Hate sending anything to dry cleaners........Yes, I'm cheap, cheap, cheap!!! :)

Hi, Angel. :) Sunday afternoon naps are the bestest. Put a ballgame on TV and you should be out in about 5 min. Ha!
