A dual would easily be done, but without the feeder bottle, what do you use? Dripper?

I could make one or two next time, no more or less work than the feeder is.

I'd drip if that was the only way to make a dual 14500, I was thinking Dual 14500 B-F'er. I didn't think it would need to be too much bigger to hold one more battery.

I still think a dual 18650 BF Cutlass would be epic

Ehh!?! Wow, it would either have to be 7 or 8 inches tall, or really wide for two batts and a bottle to be next to each other. I could also make it 2"x2" square I suppose...huh... lol

You serious? I would have to ponder on this one for a bit.

Ah, but might as well just go with a standard size Cruiser then I think.

I have no idea why but I hate changing batteries. Because of this Dual 18650 setups are kinda something I drool over. Throw in Temp control and I am sold. Throw in bottom feed and tank inset even more so. But that is just me not sure how others would feel about it. That said I don't think it would have to be that much wider then the Cutlass 5.1 which I still love. I would guess the dimensions would be about the width of a Cutlass 5.1 and the hight of a Cutlass 2 I would be ok with that.

That being said my RDNA 40 set at about 450F 20 watts on a .15 coil lasts me about 12 hours so it is almost hitting my full day on a battery set goal. It just doesn't look as good as an inset tank mod like the Destroyer IMHO. Now the 26650 Destroyer might just turn out to be the perfect compromise because of the extra MAH. I would still need a Cutlass Version though.

All that rambling aside if you made a Dual 18650 Cutlass DNA 40 I would buy one as soon as I could save up my pennys lol.

Fright I couldn't agree more.
I happen to vape alot because I was a 2 PAD smoker. When I first started vaping using a ego at 650 mah it was a nightmare. I had to buy 3 just to keep up and constantly have one on the charge. Then I moved up to 18650's and it was a little better. But still went through 2 to 3 batteries a day. I started building my own mods and made a dual 18650 using a dna30. I use 2 Efest 18650's 2500 mah and these have made it better as I get through the day without having to switch out the batteries. Now my mods are nowhere as nice as the Capt' but having dual batteries with high mah certainly fit my vaping habit.

I'm looking forward to the next batch as I would love to get a Destroyer with the DNA40 chip to go along with my Cutlass. Kind of having the best of both worlds with the looks that are unmatched. If they came with dual batteries or even 26650 would only be bonus for me.

Fright how are you enjoying the DNA40? I've been thinking of buying a board to make one but have been a little turned off by some of the gripes I've heard about it being rushed to market.

Ni200 is fiddly as hell. I have been building with 28 awg and it is ok but takes a lot of wraps (8-12 single coil). You also have to be carefull with it or you will break or just screw up your coil. That said I am getting along with it ok. There have been a few times I just couldn't build a coil to save my life I had to throw a regular tank on it and take a break and try again later.

As for living with temp control I love it but then again I never really vape anything over 20 watts anyways. I tend to change the temp more then the wattage. So when I want a stronger hit I bump it up to 460--470 and my regular vape is around 420-430. I really think BF with DNA 40 is going to be right up my alley. I don't normally take my BF stuff out because I tend to forget to squonk and burn my wicks. With temp control that doesn't really happen. I mean you can burn cotton at 450 but you start to feel the temp protection and it doesn't just instantly fry the wick like hitting a dry wick at 18-19 watts does.

Yea I'm not one to vape at high wattage either. I usually build my coils between 1.2-1.4 and vape at around 12 watts on average. I just like the idea that I could control the temp and vape at a higher wattage, notburn my juice and not worry about getting a dry hit as well. I have 3 DNA 30 devices. My Cutlass that I bought from Cappy and 2 that I built myself. I think that I'm going to buy a DNA 40 board and buid something to get used to it and then get a Destroyer when they come up. I have gone away from my mech mods and even those I was using a kick after a while. There are times, very few, that I will drip on my mechs, but I'm really more about flavor than chasing clouds.

I've read a lot about the learning curve with ni200 but I guess like anything else it will become second nature after a while. I look forward to what Cappy produces in this next batch. Thanks for you insight! :toast:

Nope, it's not soft like nickel. And it's not as low in resistance either. IMO, Evolv would have been far better off specifying titanium for use with the DNA40 than nickel. It works just fine, except of course their software isn't calibrated for it, so you have to lie to the board and tell it you want a lower temperature than you really do.

Well, I mentioned getting a five box mod caddy over in the Reo forums so I guess some mention should be made here. I got the American Cherry, top quality workmanship delivered fast and,,, I love it! Just a great furniture grade piece of mod furniture.

I have three Reo Grands and a very dusty Hanna along with several tube mech mods that are rarely used. Since one Reo is almost always in my hand that left two open mod spaces that can be used for the tubes or more box mods. Since I see more Reos in my future, probably should have gotten the bigger caddy.

Thanks, Capt. Brian!

Ahoy all, hope you had a nice weekend?

It's funny, and I know I've mentioned it before, but It wasn't until a few minutes ago that I realize I've been suffering crappy vapes for months by insisting on using my every day mod. I cleaned the heck out of it some weeks ago and it started working good again and today while I was testing a Cruiser and enjoying the solid vape I was getting that I realized how crappy my mod had gotten again.

I tore it apart and cleaned it again and it still produces marginal vape. I suppose it's possible that the regulator is just getting wore out, but from my experience things like power regulators either work or they don't work. I guess the next step would be to drill out and replace the atty connector, perhaps replace the wiring too. Yuck.

I went digging through my backup mod/history box and finally settled on a Mark-4 Buckaneer that uses an old 5 volt regulator and dual 18350 batteries. Put the accessories on it, fired it up and am getting nice solid clouds of vapor. Awesome! I think I made this Bucanner back in the beginning of 2011.

I really hate using it as there were so few of them made, but I chose this one instead of the only Cutlass 5.1 I have, which is still like new.

It sure is easy to take things for granted, until they crap out on ya.... arrr

Mod update;

I've been working on getting a small batch of Cruisers done for the website along with a couple 14500 Scallywag models.

I've not been putting in a lot of hours in the shop this year, or last year for that matter. More and more age is catching up with me and I just don't have the stamina I had even a few years ago. It is what it is I guess.... can't roll back the odometer in life, har!
