Ahoy all,

The catch cups I use are 15.5 mm inner diameter which are the biggest I can get from Digikey. I don't know where Reo gets their catch cups, maybe they make their own?

As for the spring loaded connectors, they don't have a center hole in them so I can't use them for feeders. The center conductor is too small to drill out for tubes to be soldered into.

I was under the impression that 15.5 mm was adequate for most bottom feed rda's, is this no longer true?

I think size depends on the vaper. Now this is just my experience but I find smaller attys heat up faster and I have to give them more frequent breaks. I also have to squonk them very frequently which sometimes hurts my finders (I am getting old)That isn't to say I don't love smaller attys like my Divo or the RM2 because I do but I would love to have the ability to throw a 22mm bottom fed atty on a Cutlass.

They also run an o-ring between the atty and the top of the mod to prevent seepage.

Ah ha..... Nice........ So that's how it's done. Can you provide a pic. I know you tear these up and build them back up, or don't you mess with the 510?

Cappy...to answer your question directly...no...15.5 is not big enough. The VA Cyclone WITH an AFC does not fit. The only things I have that do are a Cyclone with no afc and a Divo. I don't know what the RM2 even is. but 18-22mm is becoming very poplular. I have seen other modders offering a choice of drip cup size...but they are in Europe so I have no clue where they are getting them.

Here is the top of a quite old and much used Phid and as you can see it's no worse for the wear. I do keep it oiled religiously and it has been refinished once. But still..no damage. Considering the exceptional quality of your finish...the best I've ever seen.....I would think no drip cup as an option would be fine.

I'm not the OP so perhaps they had a different idea in mind...but this is my take on the Oring. The right side of the photo shows at atty with the oring in place underneath it....it didn't effect the ability to make a connection and doesn't show at all. However there is a small mote there for it to sit in.

Interesting info posted. I will be taking a look at the various connectors they offer and get my hands on some of them to play with.

This batch of cruisers has just gotten it's second coat of finish and will be assembled soon.

I've already counter sunk catch cup holes in the tops so it is too late to change it now but I will see what changes would be necessary in the mod designs if I decide to incorporate these other atty connectors.

It also is starting to feel like the 3.7v models are equally if not even more popular than the regulated mods. Is this another shift in vaping needs for the average vaper? Hmmmm

Regulated bottom feeders are very difficult to find. I think you will easily sell every one you ever build. I think unregulated wood bottom feeders appear to be more popular due to there are many more of them in the market and they are easier to obtain and less costly as well.

Okey dokey. I just ordered a V3 wood style connector with 22 mm and 28.5 mm drip wells. I also ordered the bottom feeder pins for the connectors and one set of feed tubes for it. The 28.5 mm washers are pretty big, almost the same width as the mods so I'm not sure how that will work out....

I hope I can use my own feed tube system with it as I am not a fan of fittings sealed by compression. Seems to me when you remove your atty then any juice still in the connector has the ability to seep down inside the connector. I'll take a good hard look at the hardware when it gets here and see if I can use it or not. I must admit, it looks pretty shiny so I hope I can even if it means adapting it to my mods.

Oh! Something just occurred to me...

If I use this style of connector then any atty system used with it will fit, it will just overhang the drip well to some degree. So if a owner wanted to use a RBA with a 6" diameter there would be nothing to stop them as there are no side walls to get in the way.

I just shot the owner over at Fatdaddy a question I have about a possible alteration to the V3, but even they way they are now I think I might be able to incorporate them into the next half of the batch which are the regulated bottom feeders if I can get things done fast enough.

I'll keep you all informed.

Amen almost completely serious. I already have a 26650 Destroyer promised in this batch if the BF's have the new connector and are DNA 40 then I may have to live off ramen for 6 months so I can buy 2 from the same batch lol.

The current Fatdaddy bottom feeder setup will require some work to make it functional. I don't think it's quite to the point that it works favorably as is.

Yeah, I see from the posts that the whole setup is a bit shaky. I'm hoping that I will be able to modify it as I will not use it if I can't make it leak-proof. The Chinese connectors may be cheap but at least they work and don't leak with the way I make them.

The ones I ordered were shipped today so hopefully I can get my hands on them soon to play with.
