Thanks for the feedback man. Yeah it sits tall on everything I have, as do all of my dual coil RDAs. With mechs generally these things aren't an issue with adjustable pins and all. But the Cana 510 pin does make things a bit more goofy that they need be I think

My Magma from fast tech has same long 510 connector pin as yours, and not adjustable - when they cloned it, they cloned it. My Magma doesn't fit flush on any of my devices (SVD, MVP 2, 134, hana style box mod).

My Origen fits nice and flush on everything. I slightly prefer Origen over Magma - no oozing of juice, fits flush, lower overall height, two tone finish. Vape quality same for me between both devices. Only a+ of Magma over Origen, to me, is larger well.

Magma is still a keeper.

Yes, because I have no wake up issues and can fire below 4V on mine. I think I use a different chip from the rest of you. It seems pretty solid. Here's a shot of my interior.

Chip looks identical to the one in cloupors, believe the wake-up issue was corrected after the first batch or so.

Regarding the below 4v, they all (including Auth. DNA 30's) will fire below 4v but it will not be regulated, it will just dump the battery voltage. I highly doubt the chip in yours down regulates, easiest way to tell is if the resistance flashes when you fire below 4v.

It doesn't flash below 4V. I just fired it just now at 3.6V. I got mine from a local B&M. They wouldn't say who the manufacturer was, but someone was able to ID mine on the forum. When I check Kangside's site, the instruction booklet and box pictured look exactly the same as what I have. The only difference is my box doesn't have the small Kangside logo on it.

Hmm interesting, do you have a meter/the ability to test if it is actually down regulating?

If it is, this would be the first (that ive heard of) of a down regulating DNA30 chip ever (on the market).

I've been in communication with 101Vapes regarding the Clouper DNA30 box mod. BTW, when I mentioned "button top" batteries in my question below, I was referring to "flat top" batteries. I guess I'd assumed they were one and the same.

Q: I have button-top Sony batteries, not nipple-top. I've heard that the mod has problems with those types of batteries. Any truth to that? Also, I've got a ProTank II and KFL+ that I'll be putting on the mod. Any issues with either of those devices?

A: I have not tried this out with a button top battery, just a flat. It may be a slightly tighter fit but it should not give you any problems. KFL+ works pretty good with this device, Protank 2 and other Kanger tanks are not recommended for this device by the manufacturer.

Can anyone shed some light on this? I'm particularly concerned about the last statement regarding Protank and other Kanger tanks, since I rotate between my KFL+ and a Protank II.

The only chip I know of that regulates down is the SX350.

and the SX330 v3 chip can apparently buck boost, according to YiHi's website

I think Kanger says that because the DNA can put out WAY more wattage than the little kanger coil heads can handle.

I've run both my PT3 and my Aerotank on there no problem.... you just had to keep your wattage low enough that you don't roast your coil head. but even if you do, you're only out a buck. And you'll know if you do, because it starts to taste metallic-y and hurt your throat after about 3 hits.

Understood. Depending on what I'm vaping, I generally run my Vamo V5 around 10-12 watts. The PT II has a 2.2Ω standard coil. I was aiming for 1.8, but missed the mark. My KFL+ currently has 1.3Ω micro-coil.

Actually less than a buck since I started rebuilding my own Kanger coils. Otherwise... noted.

Thanks!

I noted the other thread that my unit (101 vape, cloupor) acts strange when supposedly dumping battery voltage.

For example a .5 dual (flashing ohms) fires around 3.3-3.5V ( actual, as measured with multimeter and inline meter, and this on a fully charged high drain batt) and will progressively decrease as I drop the wattage, all the way from 3.5 or so to well below two (I got around 1.9 at 7 watts)

Now obviously none of this would make sense if it's truly just dumping voltage. Don't see why straight voltage would suffer from a .7-.8 drop unless the connections are just that bad. But more to the point the vape shouldn't really get weaker as you decrease wattage. Unless the chip is just confused.

But the kangside isn't flashing so maybe it's really regulating

Well I myself was going by the real DNA Mod (evolve) about dumping battery voltage, according to PBusardo, so no idea what the CDNA chip is doing. What's a kangside ?

Can you post a pic of your coil build? (it doesn't have to be pretty) but I'll probably do a dual micro coil myself if I were to get one, so i'd just like to see how it sits in there.

Here ya go, single wire, dual 7/8 wrap 30g micro, 2mm diameter, .9ohms, (ignore the loop at the top, left it in case the binder nut loosened up, many who build ON the rda w/single wire will have the loop itself under the binder nut, i wrapped this using a jig).

Still a pretty ugly build but i'm too lazy to rebuild/pretty it up, right now. Many people who build verticals dont use top tails on their wicks, i see no harm, only benefits in using them personally. Like nearly all rdas you want the coils as close as possible to the airflow and this design seems to benefit from running the coils just a bit 'higher' on the airflow (ie the flow hitting the lower portion of the coil).

With the pile o' nasty:

Understood ! The word out on the street is also that the clone behaves the same way, but after doing some measurements I honestly don't see how it could be the case. Legit DNA otoh I think pbusardos video demonstrated it IIRC

kangside is apparently another clone manufacturer discuses a few posts up
