I've seen more people smoking illegal substances from obvious pipes while driving than I have seen people vaping while driving.
I know what you mean by cops, I was vaping at our Festival this weekend and 2 state cops came up to me and asked me what I was smoking, I preceded to tell them that I don't smoke I vape and then they got a little perturbed looking and so I told them that it was my PV, an NRT, and they started laughing at me and one said "You gotta be kidding" I said "No officer I'm not" and they said well what ever it is it smells pretty darn good and walked away. I thought my heart was going to jump out of my chest it was beating so hard and when they walked away I just busted out laughing!
I vape everywhere without a second thought. In the car, stores, restaurants, casinos, walking down the street. I have walked passed and sat next to cops at red lights and never had a problem.
Drove through NY, PA, ML, WV, VA, ans NC for 10 hours yesterday vaping a box mod with a madvapes DOD on top of it. That's got to be the most outlandish looking setup around. Not a single problem.
You know, I think that e-cigs are for that. As far as I know, the products that have been developed for that specific e-cig application are only available at dispensaries. That is, places that provide that kind of thing to patients.I, sadly, was forced to hang for a bit with a shady character from Cali's PB who was quite happy to inform me that there are "special" juices people vape. Obviously, this is not what e-cigs are for, but since people do this you may be pulled over or questioned with some real validity by police officers. I'm posting this so you all know... Leave it to shady scumbags to ruin it for all... Just because people on the ECF (like me) are doing the right things does not mean everyone is so don't get mad if officer Bob asks you some questions; you can't tell it's Johnson Creek choc truffle through a car window...

but that there are so many available out there that will help and give out the ECF cards to set them on their way for education.

Personally I could care less, if a cop see's me hitting my e-cig I could care less and invite the drama if he wants to make an ... of himself.
I vape exclusive on my Tekk and while the guys at the office call it my crack pipe, haven't had a second look from anyone. The cops in Utah don't pull anyone over for anything (have seen folks run red lights in front of one with no problem) so the odds they would do anything with a PV is rare.
...
And the idea that this means that cops may have some 'validity' in stopping people to find out what is being smoked or whatever they think is going on, well, that's just crazy.
Why do we accept that people who are not obviously a danger, who are not driving strangely or recklessly, should have to pull over and explain what they're smoking (or vaping, as the case may be)?
Maybe if a cop sees someone driving erratically, and notices some strange device being smoked out of, he might get suspicious about a cause and effect relationship, sure, I can see that.
But why should normal-acting people not be able to smoke or vape whatever the hell they want? Why would a normal-acting person be under suspicion of being dangerous, or being a criminal, or whatever the concern is?
Whether the device I'm breathing through looks like a cigarette, or a pipe, or some alien pleasure toy, I do not feel that it lends any validity to the phenomenon of cops being nosy .......
I feel that people in general should reject this type of intrusion into personal business.
It's undignified, and unnecessary, imo.
