My son is seems very strong and bounces back from many things. He's now not even phased by it. The biggest memories were the "2 big boys coming in and hurting me" EMT's checking his head and the toys the ER had for him to play with.

Carrie - Oh geez, pray for a desk job! LOL. At least they have great medical coverage in the military.

No sink today for me. My 4yr old son derailed my plans for the day. He hit his head, needed stitches. He's ok though.

Congrats on the cookies and going to church. :)

I'm glad to read he's okay. Those little devils are aging us 10 years in 2 minutes!!

Cookies and Church... It's the little things that I have to count, becasue if I think about all I didn't too, I spiral right back down!

I finally shined my sink today and the kids and I worked in 15 minute increments to clean the house for Thanksgiving. We worked for 15 minutes then took a 30 minute break  and we did it all day long. It worked though! We got and amazing amount of work done with minimal fighting, yay. My room is still a disaster, but one thing at a time... (we aren't eating in my room!)

I think it's an debilitating illness that for those afflicted feels shameful and for those that aren't they can't (or don't want to) understand (except for the truly empathetic like jj2).

You give me too much credit.
If anything, circumstances have put me in a position where I HAVE to understand and you guys help so much with that---otherwise I'd probably flip out and men toting a straight jacket would be banging at my door.
So, I thank you all because you have helped me a lot.
Nighthawk deserves such a big pat on the back for jumping in and helping me with this group....she understands more than I can begin to.

Just want to add, the fifteen minute plan sounds great. In fact I've been doing a thirty minute thing for a long time. I started that just so I'd have enough ump at the end of the day to finish the nightly things that have to be done.
Hopefully everyone will keep giving updates---that is usually a motivator.

My aim today is to get the Xmas stuff out of storage.

Feeling overwhelmed? What's one thing you can do to take back the tiniest sliver of control? I'm not one to talk though - I'm hating my parents right now too and I'm being a petulant little child about it! Hmm, what's one thing I can do to take back the tiniest sliver of control - I think I'm gonna change the locks (again)!

Hang in there Nighthawk, you know it will pass, it just really, really, sucks until it does. Happy 'freakin' Holidays right? :p

Nighthawk - listen to CarrieM - she's better at this than me. Sarcasm is my 'brave face' and... (I'm not a big hugger - I want to be, but I'm too distant apparently, though not with my kids)

YAY - jj's back!! Thanks for directing me over here before you left town. I really like this thread; it's been really helpful already by giving me some more tools to cope when I feel like I just want to shut down. I'm glad your back!

oh I know it! lol it does just stink all round though. It's just a whole confluence of crap right now. It'll blow over. again. lol

Remember to take some down time for yourself, even if it's a 1/2 hour walk alone, or with someone you want to spend time with.. Give yourself a chance to recharge and you'll get through it ok :)

Good advice on the walk Carrie. I do manage to get that in twice a day when I walk my puppy. The quiet time and fresh air is so good for us. And the exercise too:p:laugh:

Thanks jj, I know a walk is the best thing for me when I get overloaded. I usually go by myself rather than take the dog as she is still terrible on the leash and the last thing I need is more frustration

Yes I suffer from Adult Child issues. It must be in the air , problems with parents.
My Mom lives next door, big mistake i made when I was single. I bought the house next door to her . I thought it would help her to stay in her house longer when she needs more help. Well she doesn't need help yet and is driving me mad. We have a no boundary issue and she is the one with none. Now that I am in counseling and have been told that I should not let my Mother walk on me , even though she is my Mom. We are having a lot of arguments now. She says I am stuck up with my counseling. Or that i take it to far. LOL only because it is regarding her. I have to keep reminding myself that.

I use to take celexa, it was the only thing that worked before I would have been put on some heavier duty stuff.
