I was searching for the reason of a warm/hot button yesterday and in the process I ordered this set. Definitely no high-end tool (more of the opposite) but it should fulfill its job fine.
I dunno if that shops ships worldwide but I guess you find something similar in your country.

If you are going to buy some nuts then don't forget th 11mm one for the GGTS/UFS connector.

I'm asking because mine seems to be wanting quite a bit of force and still not wanting to budge at all. I can use a lot more pressure but thought I'd check this out with you first before doing so.

The first time I took my button apart it was really tight, too. I was actually afraid I was going to break something from the way I was reefing on it . . . once I got it apart that first time I've had no trouble with subsequent disassemblies. As long as your sockets have good purchase you shouldn't need to worry about slipping and rounding anything off

Imeo has agreed to make brass buttons one more time

Yes and I am looking forward to them immensely! :)

I also am anxiously awaiting the arrival of my box of parts which is enroute. When ordering 2012 buttons, I made sure to order an extra as a machinist friend has agreed to make the button head into a round and flat stainless steel version.

The actual head of the 2012 button is thick enough to allow the top to be machined flat once the corners are removed. If it turns out anywhere as close to what he and I both hope, I should have a good copy of the flat head in stainless!

Obviously I will post up pix when it is ready for use. I know of at least one other GG fan (cough - Vaporologist - cough) that would love to see an all stainless GGTS with the flat head button. ;)

That's the ticket! Thanks for sharing! The only added work my guy is doing is to take the slight roundness off the top. From the 2 I have been able to check, he should be able to make it completely flat topped w/o getting into the the threaded contact pin opening.

I do want the flat top but not with a center hole where the metal was taken down too far!

I just did a through clean up on my button and replaced the button spring but it's one hell of a lot harder to press now, due to the new spring being quite a bit taller and thicker. The new one also tapered off at one end, enough that I had to open it up a tiny amount in order to get the plunger to go through it.

I can live with it being tougher to press (I quite like the positive feeling of it) but wanted your opinions on whether the new spring looks like the correct type to use in the first place?

Original spring is on the left, new one (purchased from ecigz london) on the right:
