The only thing that would cause me to stop vaping would be if we discovered some heretofore unknown, SERIOUS health risk... Or if my wife makes me. I also have no plans to ever lower my nic level (24mg). I can understand cutting back if the level you're vaping is bothering you physically, but the only reason I can see to cut nicotine out would be a concern that it's truly hazardous to your health. But can it be that much worse than inhaling PG/VG? Then again, I know next to nothing about the chemistry of vaping. What I really don't understand is the widespread desire to cut it out because of the dependence factor. If you're willing to be dependent on the hand-to-mouth habit, why make a distinction for nicotine? I'm not being snarky, I promise; I really would like to know! Someone please school me!

For people who mix DIY style or buy something like 4oz. Doublers from Tasty Vapor, it's considerably less expensive to vape 0 nic. Might be that rather than the dependence factor. Could also be they may not have to deal with the high taxation if the govt tries to focus the sin tax they may still feel entitled to on unflavored nic.

Could also be what swedishfish mentioned, "I think we were so conditioned to feel bad about smoking we all have some kind of inferiority complex and almost feel guilty about vaping." Maybe for some vaping 0 nic would reduce that you're-a-leper feeling we came to know so well when we smoked...even though there's really no correlation there. Hard to say really.

I'm with you though as I don't intend to lower my nic level.

@Swedishfish, Thank you for the congrats and for the link. I hope things are going well for you, and that vaping is treating you well. It was an interesting read.

My opinion is that 40% is to high, but its a safe number to present the fact, I'm using less nicotine than when I smoked. To be honest, I also believe that 10% is to low. Therefore, I believe the truth likely falls, in between the two.

I decided to vape again today, go figure.

You can also factor in nicotine is a stiumlant as well as the fact in inhibits the circulation (if I'm not mistaken caffiene does also). I don't know if I'll go to zero nic but I think I need to curb it back some...oddly enough since I started vaping I have cut back on my coffee intake without even really trying... I'm not seeing me giving up my coffee unless its life or death...vaping? we'll just have to see.

No intentions of quitting. I quit analogs five and a half years ago after a twenty year pack and a half a day smoking habit. Five months ago I started smoking again and right back up to a pack and a half in no time flat. I think I started again because when I get stressed at work I need something that will momentarily take me out of it so I can regroup. It's either eat or smoke. I started vaping at 6mg 17 days ago, and haven't touched another analog since. I also chain vape 0mg. It keeps me centered and I'm not constantly in the pantry or the refrigerator. It's gotta be better then smoking analogs, and I'm sure it's probably better then carrying around an extra twenty to thirty pounds. I might drop to 100% 0mg and I might slow down the chain vaping, but I doubt I'll ever completely stop.

For the people that have reduced their nicotine level, have you noticed a difference in taste?

No but I cheated

I had a full 30ml bottle of 24 mg nic juice

and a 180ml bottle of 16mg juice

I used about 5 ml out of the 30ml bottle, and the re-fill it with the 16 and shook it up

Then I used about 10 mil out of that 30ml bottle and again refill with the 16, and shook it up again

From then on I would use up less than half of the 30ml bottle and then refill with the 16 and shake it up

It went on for weeks doing that... take that 30mil bottle to half and re-fill with 16

So I moved from 24 to 16 so gradually that I never noticed any change at all.

Going to do the same thing going from 16 to 8

Oddly enough though, my system does say I don't need as large a dosage as my mind thought it did. I've had to cut my nicotine back several times over the last year due to mild OD symptoms a few months into each lower strength. So much for the 'highly addictive' label, huh?

I've noticed the same thing... I smoked Full Flavor 100s for approximately 18 years... so I thought I'd have to have a pretty strong mg count of nicotine... 18mg was the first one I tried... came with starter kit... I moved down to 14mg and now 11mg... I was getting the lightheaded, headache-y feelings too... Who'd have thunk it :D

And I'd like to eventually quit vaping... everyone would 'like' to quit something deemed not as healthy as abstinence... but my body tells me that vaping is definitely more acceptable than smoking... so, until I muster up some willpower from somewhere, I'll be happily vaping

No difference for me......went from 12mg french vanilla....one of my all day vapes to 6mg of the same.....same taste....same everything. But I am lowering so I can vape more flavors in a day and not over-do the nic.....not sure if I will eventually go lower or not. But even if I go to zero, I don't plan on giving up vaping.....enjoy it too much.
