Am I saving money? Absolutely. Do I care about the saving money aspect? I use to, when I first started. Now, I care more that I have found a new hobby, and I no longer smoke, nor do I want to smoke. I no longer find the smell attractive, actually find it rather disgusting.
I have purchased:
eVic, VAMO, 4 EGO batteries of various types, Vea Kit, and a Blu kit
1 Nitecore i4 charger, 1 trustfire T001 charger, 4 18350 efest IMR's, 2 18650 efest IMR's, and 2 Samsung ICR18650's.
1 protank, 5 evods, quite a few clone clearo's, vivi novas, carto's, a carto tank, replacement heads for everything.
Currently have almost 1 liter of liquid (Between NIC base, and premixed fluids, not counting PG or VG base which is another liter)

I keep all of my receipts from online orders and B&M purchases, just because I like knowing what I've spent. Thus far I have spent just over 480$. I haven't purchased cigarettes since 11/16/12, have not smoked one since around 5pm that day. I was a 2 pack a day smoker, never bought cartons, only purchased camel crush, by the pack, usually the packs with the 75 cents off. (Cheapest way I could find to buy them) Even with the 75 cents per pack discount, a pack was costing me 4.05$ after taxes. I would have spent well over $1000 on cigarettes in the same time frame that I have been vaping.

If I refrain from buying any other toys (provari or reo... must resist... a little longer...), I have figured that replacement heads and liquids currently cost me less than 40$ a month. Even counting an occasional replacement battery, that is still far below the 240$/month I was spending.

I have been keeping close track the last 2 months of what I have been spending. It took a while and several trial and error sessions to find the set up that works for me. I'm very comfortable with my current setup and I started to DIY my juice so the amount spent should drop off. The last 2 months I have been spending about $75 less a month on vaping than I would have on analogs.

The main thing is after being a 3pad smoker for over 35 years I'm NOT SMOKING!!!!!!

after buying what I wanted, Yes. I spent 300 a month on cigs plus 150 for a box of cigars a month. A Provari with some extras and juice was 280, now I just focus on juices and the occasional tank or whatever, Say, I spend maybe 300+ every 5 to 6 months, maybe less. But, I'm not the type to get a mod every time, I'm happy with one. So, If your getting mods and new tanks and Cobras, z atty's and stuff. I can't see anyone saving money, But good for them, At lest it's not killing them.

I was a carton of Marburo 100s a week (20+ years) @ (58.00$ a carton) I bought an ego c kit (2 complete vaporizers) with lanyard and 1 bottle of 18mg juice. out the door for 93.00. this was over 3 weeks ago and I am still on the 1st bottle of juice, and have not had a Marlburo since I bought the egos. Doing the rough math I am about 80$ ahead so far. So For me it is saving a huge amount of money. Hope this helps others who are wondering about it. I know absolutely nothing about the mods y'all are talking about. but they sound like they Could get pricey in a hurry. If your out to save money, find a system that works for you and stick to it.

That's the basic question after having a conversation with my mom who also vapes and said after her batteries die she's done with vaping (with smoking too)...which isn't hard to understand considering all of the mods and apvs we've seen, but what do you guys think...is it time to stop touting the saving money claim and just admit that it can be expensive but that's ok?

I started vaping on March 3,2013. I have been placing weekly orders to control my spending and to be sure I didn't waste a bunch of money on Vaping and still contuine to smoke. At first, I wasn't a believer.
MY month of orders:

1) 2 1100 vv ego batteries, 2 ce4's a kanger3 and 60 mls of juice 77.41
2) 1 ego mini battery, 30 mls of juice, 2 ce4's, I mego cartomizer 36.70
3) extra charger, 2 t3 coils, I drip tip, 30mls juice 24.35
4) 135 mls juice, 1 bottle ofice flavoring 36.52

total ecig price 174.98

I smoked 2 packs a day, thats 6 cartons a month at 56.00 a carton
analog price 336.00 a month

A saving of 162.00

I have three batteries, 2 chargers, 2 new ce4's, 2 new coils t3, 180mls of juice left. The orginal ce4 and kanger are still working, I don't know how long they will last to figure usuage on the clearo's

NO cigs at all

IF you settle down, and find what works for you, yes, you'll save money. I'm a couple of years in now and have set up's I like. Now I get something in the mail about every 3 months. My supplies for juice (I DIY). Usually PG and VG since I buy 100mg/mL Nic juice. Believe you me, nic juice in that strength lasts a LONG time :0). Once every 6ish months I buy 100 carto's, usually from the coops'.

My husband and I both smoked between 1 and 2 packs a day (each) with a carton of smokes at 85 with tax, taht's 170 a week or 680 a month. Well, I with those numbers I broke even in 6 months even with all the extra's I bought. I probably broke even a year or so ago. I'm actually UP money. 2 years ago I was struggling to make rent and all the bills today, today I'm 2k up and debating on a Disney Vacation for the kids.

The people who come here, are just a fraction of the vapers. Then you have a group that do just fine with lookey likes or Ego's. And you will save money in this group.
Then others want more flavor or bigger batteries cost.

And then thats where costs go up. And the group like me.. no way are saving some money but we are saving our life.
And in the end whats that worth?

And until you know your going to stay with it long term don't spend the big bucks. I have 3 Ego twists that are on there last legs. A MVP for going out with EA Mod and a Provari.

Can you save money Vaping? Yes. 3 Ego Twitsts, 2 Chargers, 5 Evods, a mess a replacement heads, and cheap but good juice (Mt. Baker Vapor, EcBlend, etc.) will give you a great vape and still save you a good bit of money over smoking (assuming one smokes a pack a day and cigs are somewhere around $5.00 or more a pack). The truth is we don't have to spend a lot of money to get a great vape.

However, for many vaping becomes a hobby and it can be very expensive. Collecting mods, RBAs, trying tons of different juices, etc. But if a person has the money to spend and enjoys the hobby it's cool.

Me, I'm somewhere in the middle. I spend around $120.00 a month on vaping. Given the price of cigs in my area and the amount I smoked I would spend $1900.00 a year on cigs. So I save $460.00 a year vaping. Most importantly my health has improved drastically since I quit smoking almost 2 years ago so I'm also saving money on doctors visits, prescriptions, over the counter medicine, etc.

I hate full price I stay away from that at all costs. Discount codes and Verfied Member section are the only way I buy!
With my Provari went with silver $30 less and the Blem sales that save as well.
Dont be the first to buy if there is problems you'll know soon enough.

Due to my wanting to try different stuff and liking high quality products, I'm not saving money at the moment, but I'm reaching the point where there is not much stuff that I want to try, so that may change soon. In terms of consumables, I spend way less than I did on tobacco products, so it is definitely possible to save a fairly substantial amount.

i think its a matter of what you want the outcome to be. do you want to quit smoking? or do you want to dive into a culture of people that vape? me personally... i just want to quit smoking. i use the two spinners i have as 'tools' to get me to my goal. that said... i have spent close to two bills for my mother and i to both quit. with that... i have a two month supply for each of us.

if any more money has to be spent... it will only be for $2.00 evod atomizers and five dollar 30 mil juices from mtbaker. my guess is ten to fifteen a month. vs $120 a month for cigarettes.

all of these mods and such, and provaris, and high dollar batteries, and custom tanks, and all of that hooplah... is foolish in my opinion. it seems to be a contest around here on who can waste the most money on looking 'fab'.
