Actually nicotine causes heart disease, arrythmia and pulmonary vasoconstriction...
I'm definitely saving money. If I include the infrequent batt replacement, I have been spending on average about $45-$60/month in supplies. When I smoked, a pack was about $7.50 plus tax. I smoked 2 packs a day so $15/day x 30 days.. $450/month in smokes.
I'm either doing something really right or really wrong to pull off a $400 savings per month by vaping.

Neither had I until I read Altaire's post. A quick Google search found this:
Nicotine Promotes Cardiovascular Disease, Benefits of Smoke-Free Products Questioned : Consumer News : Medical Daily
Really don't quite know what to make of it just yet and will need to look into it in much more detail, but I'm really surprised I haven't heard of this report before - article is dated 23 February 2012.

google or wikipedia it? Im not trying to convince anybody of anything, if you dont want to believe nicotine is a drug that has harmful effects, dont. I HAVE arrythmia and its severity has been directly tied to my smoking habits. I dont really care Im gonna vape for a while regardless til i feel like quitting, I was just correcting that woman so she doesnt think nicotine is a healthy thing to be ingesting...but you can look into it if you wantLink to these published and verified reports please? To me, being off combustibles is the most important. Saving money will come eventually.
I know that I'm definitely NOT saving any money!!! I'm sitting on "a lifetime supply" of REAL (leaf, unprocessed) tobacco; and, since 1999, all /i've had to buy was a box of rolling papers every couple of months; and, a big batch of ground clove once a year off of ebay. I never had any intention of switching to vaping. I bought my 1st e-cig (about 6 weeks ago) just so I could get my nicotine fix while stuck in places like WalMart and McDonald's. The "fake cigarettes" were a hassle; and, after the 4th time I came within an 1/8th of an inch of reflexively lighting one, I broke down and bought a 650mA/CE4 starter kit, rationalizing that it would "save me money in the long run." All was well until my hands were giving me trouble for a few days, making rolling painful. Instead of just rolling despite the pain, as I normally would have (being the nicotine junky that I am), I got lazy and vaped instead during the 4 or 5 days it took for my hands to quit hurting. When I went back to rolling, my taste-buds had betrayed me; and, my usual smokes tasted ABSOLUTELY AWFUL!!! Now, I've had to invest in 3 more batteries (an 1100mA and 2, 1350mA), to make sure that I always have at least 2 fully usable batteries; plenty of e-juice (since I live 20+ miles from the nearest vapor supply store); and, an assortment of tanks, trying to find ones that won't crack like egg shells with my 1/2 clove and 1/2 orange/pineapple concoction... (Not to mention spare parts, cleaner, etc.; since, I've been an absolute nicotine junky since I first started smoking, back in 1970, I live in dread of "getting caught without...")
I've had a lot of problems with high blood pressure so I have worked on lowering my nic intake. I do agree that if you have problems such as high blood pressure, you should consider cutting back on the nic. But the good thing about Ecigs is that you have the Ability to do just that, whereas with cigs you can't. I'm down to 8 mg nic and still content. I'm not sure if I will go down to 6 or just stick at 8. But I figure at least it's better than smoking and the doctors agree wholeheartedly.google or wikipedia it? This is just an article, not a medical "peer review." These articles have been posted throughout the web and as far as I'm concerned hold no water in what they say. From what the article says no one should be using FDA approved patches, and nicotine gums either. Do you really think there has been any real science involved?
