He most certainly did! I was shocked! I had a check-up a week after getting out of the hospital. When I saw him, he asked me how bad I wanted a cigarette and he told me not to lie (he knew I had smoked for 20+ years). I told him the truth, which was that I wanted a cigarette, but I wasn't going to have one, because I NEVER wanted to go through what I went through ever again.
That's when he told me about vaping. I told him that I had tried the disposable ones at the gas stations (pre-blu) and they were terrible. He agreed and said that I should buy stuff that was online, because they were MUCH better than the ones sold at gas stations.
His name is Dr. Shah, and he LITERALLY saved my life.
My heart attack was what is called "the widow maker". 95% of the people who have that particular heart attack, die. I had a chance to tell my wife and my mom that I loved them before they loaded me up on the helicopter.
So, yes, my cardiologist is the one who opened my eyes to this world, and I am eternally grateful to him.....again!

Your story literally brought tears to my eyes, which is not an easy thing to do most of the time. I wish you the best.

Well, thank you very much! I am 100% healthy now, heart-wise, and I feel 10 years younger, now that I can breathe and have good blood circulation. :)
My story has caused about 20 people I know to quit smoking and start vaping, because I do not LOOK like I had a heart attack. Most people are completely shocked when I tell them. If you ever have time, you can watch a You Tube video I made telling my story. If it helps people quit smoking, then that's all I care about. You can find it here: Why I Vape - YouTube
Thanks again, and keep on vaping!!

Well I'm 72 now, and smoked for 50+ years. And, I'm still alive! Think because of vaping I just might stick around for another decade or two.

So yes, I would probably be dead by now if I hadn't made the switch when I did.

Here's to hoping for as many decades as possible! :)

Well, you have had it rougher than I have, but I'm so glad to hear you are off the analogs! Stay healthy my friend!

Thanks so much Daryl. Good luck to you as well. Great video, awesome story. These are the stories the world needs to hear.

I smoked about a pack and a half a day for 10 years and i can already tell that i can breath better after just 2 weeks of vaping..My chest pains and tightness have cut way down..not near as much fluid in my lungs. I think if i did keep smoking i would be in heart attack territory real soon. It probably did save my life to be honest...it was such an easy transition after i found the right set up.

Daryl thanks for sharing that and im glad you are doing better, keep it up buddy.

Thanks, and I'm glad you are feeling better too! It's amazing how much better everything is when you stop smoking. :)

I feel that vaping, at the very least, has prolonged my life. I was wondering if anyone else out there feels the same way I do.
Long story short, I had a heart attack a little over a year and half ago, at the age of 38. I had smoked for 20+ years, and even had my last cigarette about 5-10 minutes before the ambulance came to get me. Being 38, I didn't think that the chest pains I was experiencing would have led to a heart attack, because I was just flat out dumb!
After getting a stent placed in my 99% blocked artery, my cardiologist recommended that I give vaping a try. I did, and I am very grateful for it! I had my year check-up about 5 or 6 months ago, and the x-ray of my lungs was shocking, and that was after a year of vaping. The difference was night and day better!
So....if nothing else, take this little story to give you encouragement to NEVER go back to analogs. Those things will DEFINITELY kill you!

Yes.

My father died of a heart attack at 54,,,,,,,,2 pad smoker for more years than I remember,,,,,,

my best friend died of an aneurism (most likely brought about by high blood pressure, smoking did not help) at 60.

One night I dreamed my bff came to me and told me I HAD TO QUIT smoking and to start vaping,,,,,,,

I did the next week.

And btw,,,,,my husband had a heart attack at 36,,,,,,he has never smoked. but I have. Makes you wonder.

Sorry to hear all of that!
My cardiologist said that my heart attack was directly caused by smoking. I have no hereditary heart conditions on either side of my family, and two older brothers who don't smoke, and do not have any signs of heart problems....so...

I don't know if vaping has saved my life or not. I can breathe easier and I do enjoy it, but I'm not naive enough to think that not smoking for nearly 2 months can undo 50+ years of the damage I've done to my body by smoking. We'll see how much longer I can continue to vape, hopefully a long time, but at the moment it all depends on what the FDA deems once they go back to work. I'm still breathing in second hand smoke though, so what I'm doing probably isn't having that much of an effect on my longevity, and he isn't buying the vaping isn't smoking so I have little hope that he will quit.

Do I feel that vaping has saved my life?

Absolutely. Before two months ago I used to toss and turn at night worrying/thinking "I'm dying, smoking is killing me". I don't do that at night anymore. I do it during the day!

Just kidding. Sorry. No seriously, that stopped the moment I started vaping, which was also the moment I quit smoking. Do I feel all healthy now? Of course not. I need to lose about five pounds. And after I lose that fifteen pounds I need to start eating more healthily. Then I need to start exercising.

But despite the fact that I vape way more than I smoked, I still feel marginally better, I think I smell better, I've got lots of new toys, and all you people as new friends, I'd say that's a win-win decision!

best regards, larry mac

Not sure yet about saving our lives, but vaping has certainly saved our sanity. My adult and I were both pad smokers for a number of years. We quit 7-8 years ago when sub-generics got unaffordable on our budget. About 2 years ago, the stress of trying to make a living, graduate school - for my daughter -, etc. started really getting to us. She did research, and we decided to try ecigs. We have not looked back. For us, they really help mitigate the stress, and certainly take care of the "I would kill for a smoke" cravings. We are right now at 18 mg. nicotine, and hope to gradually reduce once things settle down. Vaping has successfully kept us from going back to analogs.

Naw his mind is set and he refuses to even listen. It is at a point where me even mentioning vaping will start a fight, I have the choice to be right or have peace, I choose peace.
