I vape everywhere...no smoking does not apply to me...I don't smoke,
On the other hand I try to make it as stealthy as possible and if I am approached I consider it an opportunity to educate someone and I always comply.

I have found that folks that make it their job to enforce no smoking policies are ready for some attitude and can easily be turned around with respect and some information and in 2 occasions i have received permission to vape where there were no smoking rules...once in a movie theater and once in a very expensive restaurant...in the restaurant we actually got our waitress to try my moms eGo/Vivi and she loved it ....we had 3 vapers there and by the end of the night we were all vaping and drinking our wine and no one said a thing to us.

I usually don't in enclosed public spaces, that being said, I was in jury duty for the last week, on the fifth floor of the building. I asked the bailiff if there was an issue with me vaping in the hall and he said no, not as far as he knew, so I vaped discreetly in the hall. While in deliberation I asked my fellow jurors if they minded, took a sample drag, didn't blow out any visible vapor and they were all fine with it. Sometimes it's more about being a polite member of society rather than if you have the "right" to do something, but that's just my opinion.

I don't even think about it. I always have a Twist on a lanyard. No matter where I'm at if I want a toke or two I take it. Everyone in my area knows what they are and know it's not smoke at this point. So, if I'm at publix (Grocery) and I take a drag off my Twist walking down the beer isle nobody even looks twice. If I'm in someones establishment & they request I not vape then of course I'll cease - their house, they make the rules but I haven't had that happen yet.

When it comes to restaurants or other places where your in close quarters, common sense would dictate that you don't vape like a research monkey fogging folks out or vape to draw attention like I've seen some do - making others possibly uncomfortable or distracted from what they're trying to do; that's just bad manners/etiquette in general. I just take a few tokes here & there and be my usual low-key self...

Nobody seems to notice that way & if they do notice, they don't care because I'm not making my vaping experience into THEIR vaping experience. :)

Where I live in Canada, theyre real cigarettes Nazis. You can't smoke at bus stops, shopping mall parking lots, within 16-30 ft of entrances. These are the places I vape. Its all open air, so who cares? You can't honestly tell me its worse than the car exhaust I'm forced to breath everyday, everywhere. Funny story, I was at my college, and I was vaping by the entrance, (it was raining and it was the only place under cover). I had this professor beelining for me, just ready to rip a strip off me. As soon as she opened the door and realized its was wasn't smoke she said,"Oh, is that one of those electronic things, GOOD".Walked away, end of story. I try not to throw it in faces, sometimes a stealth vape is the sweetest one of all.

I mean seriously, I sometimes don't vape in no smoking areas, but I'm concerned of like ignoring the sign while I'm vaping, it's like irresponsible. I'm just asking though, do you vape in no smoking areas? Just wondering.

Yep, all the time...I'll usually ask if its OK if I'm in a restaurant or some place like that and I've been pleasantly surprised at how accepting most establishments are of vaping...I vape all over at the malls and department stores and no one, including staff, seem to mind too much...

Sometimes, but not blatantly. I don try hiding it, but I also don't Vape to vape. If the walk to another okay area si to far, I may pull out my 450 mini with low vg and have a draw or 2 and put it away. With the low vg there is little to no vapor so rarely is it even noticed.
So far, I have not received any negative looks or feedback from anyone.

I think the research on second hand vapor has pretty much proven that it is not harmful to others. From the research I've seen you breath more pollutants everyday when you walk out the door.

You don't know if you're hurting anyone or not. There's no hard evidence yet. And being in America means the other guy has rights too.

There's no proof that it's not harmful.

have you been living under a rock? There is TONS AND TONS of info on how non harmful vaping is. there are studies all over about how people's lungs have improved since quitting analogs and beginning vaping. There are countless studies coming out of greece and all over the world about how vaping is so much less harmful than smoking. studies have been done on the vapor and zero nicotine is found in the vapor.

hell a quick search of this very forum shows that...

I haven't publically vaped yet, except at work in the lunch room (usually no one is there). It would be interesting to see if there's a geographical pattern, and whether the general attitude of where you live might actually affect how much or how boldly you publically vape. Like if there are a fairly large number of smokers already, and it's just a few ANTZ around to make life difficult.

I live in a state that has a very low percentage of smokers. And anything resembling smoking in public is heavily looked down on. I don't think vaping to many of these people would be considered a reasonable alternative.

Generally, in public areas, no. But then, growing up and smoking in the mid 70's in Fairfax County, Va. most places even then did not allow smoking unless you were in the Smoking section. Now, I did still smoke in my office areas, and vaped in my last office after making sure my underlings were ok with it.

Sneaking a vape now and then.. no biggy for me, So, unless I know I can vape publicly, I won't.

Until Vaping is generally recognized and accepted as a safer alternative to smoking, and has nothing to do with smoking . . . No, I do not vape in non smoking areas.

To do so, would alarm the uninitiated and give more reason to the anti-vaping community. The general non smoking public already has a low tolerance to smokers. As an ex-smoker, now, I can understand the non smoking mentality. I would not want to be confused for a smoker.

So the opposite of what you do, would be to vape with smokers and in smoking designated areas. Now what perception does this give the uninformed? The obvious perception is that vaping is the same as smoking and just as dangerous.

With these actions and this attitude, there is no way that vaping will be "generally recognized and accepted as a safer alternative". If those who vape, tell the uninformed through their actions, that vaping is dangerous, then vaping should be banned by the FDA. Anti's like ASH, the ALA, AHA, etc love vapers who take this position. It does their work of trying to have vaping banned nationwide for them.

Those of us who have been vaping for quite a while, generally take the position to vape most places BUT respectfully. What we don't do is act like vaping is the same as smoking.

Seems to me that people's attitude about this is somewhat dependent on where you live. I'm in Canada and as trishdadish already mentioned we have quite restrictive smoking laws. I do not vape where smoking is not allowed without permission. It would take only one person complaining about me to cause a no-vaping rule to be created and once created it is always harder to have it removed than to avoid its creation in the first place.

I have found I actually enjoy vaping around smokers. They are the ones who can most benefit from my vaping experience and I enjoy talking about it with them. The tiny bit of second hand smoke I inhale is worth it to me to get the message out to the people who really need it.
