Mikenet, what kinda atty or carto are you using on that Roughstak...that could be the reason you are coughing...an all PG based juice could do it as well as the technique you are using..........
madjack

With my first purchase I went entirely with cartos because I liked the sound of their convenience. I choose to start with five different kinds, and two of each so I could get an idea for what I liked. These are the ones I bought...

510 Dual Coil Stainless Mega Cartomizer
eGo Mega Dual Coil Cartomizer Flat-Tip
MadVapes 510 2.0 Dual Coil Black Cartomizer
Dual Coil Clear Mega XL Cartomizer
Smok Tech 2.0 ohm 510 Cartomizers Single

So far I'm on my 4th carto out of the original 10 that I bought. The first 3 I tried were DCCs. Two of the madvapes 510 2.0, and one of the Stainless Megas. After I read that DCC had bothered you I tried my Smok Tech single coil and It helped with the cough a bit. :) I still need to expand on this with better liquids though because vaping is still irritating to my throat somewhat.

Might wait for that cig urge to hit, and then take 5 or 6 drags on the e-cig and wait a minute or two. If you still feel like walking outside, then go for it, but I've been finding that vaping really does help keep the cravings at bay. If it doesn't kill the craving, you might want to try a higher nicotine mg juice. I started at 18mg and that wasn't quite cutting it for me. I moved up to 24mg and it's worked like a charm since.

I'll agree there, finding the right liquid is critical. You aren't going to stick with it if the liquid you have tastes nasty. Out of the 40+ liquid flavors taking up space in my cupboard right now, I'd only consider 4 or 5 to be really tasty to me. I've probably spent more on liquids than hardware already. ;) Lot of wasted money there on flavors I don't like, but in the long run I'm still saving a truckload compared to smoking.

So far Ive been vaping 18mg liquids, but I did buy 3 10ml bottles of 24mg liquids. Ive waited on using these because of my coughing problem, but I think I'll give one a try here soon on my single coil carto and see what happens.

I know I'm just one of many saying the same thing but honestly I had 0 urge to quit smoking (a pack of Newport 100's a day for 13yrs) My friend had bought me a Joye 5-10 manual almost 2yrs ago and it sat in the same place in my bedroom door. Mind you, this is when Tea Bag mods were the "IN" thing to do..... Long story short a couple of months ago he bought me a pack of LR 510 cartomizers, showed me how to fill them and asked me to "just give it a try" I haven't smoked a cig since...... I can't speak for everyone but I know it worked for me......
Good luck in the future,

I have been smoking for about 40 years and was up to 1+PPD. I have tried quitting before using almost every method known. I used the wrap your gigs in paper and keep a smoking journal on it about 30 years ago. That worked for a couple months but I was miserable all day, every day. I tried hypnosis, the patch, wellbutrin, gum and just cold turkey a couple times. I refused to try chantrex because I thought with that I might actually kill someone, probably my poor husband because he would be handy and I didn't want to go there. :) I've never been able to go over 3 months and as I said I was always miserable the entire time. I got my first ecig about 3 weeks ago and I think eventually this will do it. This morning I lit an analog and it actually smelled bad to me! I think that is a good sign.

If you like cartomizers you should look at clearomizers... I can't rave enough of them. Easier, less messy, last longer, consistent vape in comparison...

For anybody experienced with clearomizers, is there anything better that still is portable without being bulky and awkward to smoke publicly? I'd like to hear from anyone as I want to know if I've hit best of the best for my needs...

Quick question, is a clearomizer just another name for a clear cartomizer, or is it something different entirely? I have some clear cartos, but I keep hearing the term clearomizer.

From what I've seen, the only thing after a Clearomizer is a tank (That's effectively what a clearomizer is anyway). Lot of them use the clearomizer as a base too, and just wrap a bigger tank around it.

That's what I did. :)

Hah, that's ghetto.

That's what it's called The Ghetto Tank: CE2 Edition. :D

:p Leak at all? Definitely some MacGyver work going on there. ;)

I like the cap screwed on for storage. :)

No leaks. Bottom of bottle is sealed around the tubing with hot glue, and it turns out the connector end of the CE2 snaps cleanly and firmly into the mouth of the bottle and creates its own seal. No leaks, no gurgling except the occasional little bit that you get with stock Fluxomizers anyway, just the nature of the beast at work there. Vapes incredibly though -- better than the Fluxomizers themselves even after modding, in fact. I can hit this at 5V where I'd get wicking issues with regular Fluxomizers even at 4.5. The vapor clouds are insane. Holds about 4-4.5ml of juice. The CE2 guts can still be removed for cleaning and dry burning, too, or exchange with a fresh one.

The fact that I can still put the cap on is cool though, keeps it protected for transport or storage. :) The cap is also how I shove the CE2 into the bottle. (Insert CE2, put cap over and torque down over the threads to push the connector into the mouth.) Only complaint is that the bottle is a soft plastic so it's not what you'd call sturdy. But for the cost of one 6ml bottle, a single Fluxomizer and a bit of hot glue? If it breaks, I'll just make another. It's not like most of us don't have a bunch of 6ml bottles lying around. :)

I think it's a combination of two things. You still get the nicotine, for one. That cuts out the biggest part of the addiction. And I think that the process helps. You still pick it up, you still "smoke" it much like a cig, you still see the "smoke". I think somehow that helps.

I agree totally. The nicotine by itself wasn't enough for me. I LIKED to smoke! It wasn't just about the nicotine, although of course I was and am addicted to it. It was the process itself that I had a hard time getting away from. In a lot of the stop smoking counselling they tell you to totally get away from your smoking routine. If you always light up with a cup of coffee, ditch the coffee. etc, etc, etc. Problem for me was I didn't WANT to change my routine. I didn't want to give up my morning coffee, or smoking while surfing the internet, or smoking while reading. Pretty soon there'd be nothing for me to do! LOL So for me, because of all that, I found that vaping satisfied the addiction without making me change my whole life style and routine. Baby steps maybe, but still in the right direction at least!

About 3 or so weeks ago, my wife picked-up one of those mall garbage kits at a smoke shop in Solvang, CA. Over the course of the following week, she alternated between analogs and the little eCig--mainly because the battery died so quick, and it was a seriously slow charger.

When we got back home, she did some looking around on the Internet, and ordered a 6v Prodigy V3.1 with a 510 adapter and Joye-510 atomizer.

Since receiving that kit, she hasn't had but one aCig, and that was more than a week ago.

She gave me her old eCig and ordered a 6v Prodigy V3.1, with the 801/BE112 adapter and a couple of BE112 atomizers, for me. Since I got that shipment, I haven't touched a cigar. (I had been smoking and inhaling cigars for several months after having quit aCigs twice before. I used to be a two and a-half or more pack a day aCig smoker.)

The intent of eCigs isn't for smoking cessation; however, yes, they make tobacco so much less desirable that you'll find yourself using tobacco less, I'd imagine.

Again, eCigs and PVs are a recreational alternative to tobacco, not a device for smoking cessation. Quitting is up to you.

It's dead easy to make, didn't cost me a thing apart from what I already spent on the stuff I alreadyt had. :) I've got a tutorial video going up either tonight or tomorrow.

That'll be great !

I guess you put a hole through the carto casing at some point. That's the tricky bit ?

CE2 case slides off I believe, and this slides on in it's place. Only manual effort I think would be cutting the hole in the bottom of the juice bottle for the CE2 top to slide through, and the hot glue around the seam to prevent leaks.

Definitely a cool idea and looking forward to the video. :)

Nope, no need -- the plastic CE2 tubes are too big to fit through the bottle neck anyway. The tube is cut to 3/4" and only extends just below the cup, and is only there to provide a way to insert the cup seal to keep the cup from being flooded. I'll be posting a video tutorial in the modder's section and on my YouTube channel. (Video is done, I just have to edit, render and upload it.)
