Allan.GH- mine was a device to quit smoking and it worked very well and in one day. My brother is struggling a bit, but he's also using it to quit cigarettes, as have 1000s of others. The device doesn't work on intent, whether recreational or smoking cessation, but it augments either very well.

Yeah, this definitely wasn't built for looks to be certain. It's really intended for those who have the necessary items (6ml bottle, razor knife, hot glue, and a CE2 to disembowel) and want to MacGyver their own CE2 tank. No out of pocket expenses that I didn't already make, just stuff I've already got lying around in abundance. I've got a third one I'm going to make with a slight modification to the tubing that may give it more stability down its length when inserting drip tips. But for now, this thing works just fine. Got the tutorial video rendering now for any who are interested, but it won't be done 'til I'm already in bed so I'll upload to my channel tomorrow morning before work.
I'm not sure I know this answer as I have not looked intensely into it. I guess the thing is that clearomizers are like a small tank. They have no filler... just wick and juice vaping. I also heard that the older models of clearomizers aren't as good so the only product I bought, am fully satisfied and am likely to not look at anything else are CE2 5th edition clearomizers. Sorry I don't know enough about the term clear cartomizers.

That's ok, they do sound and look a bit different from what your saying. Perhaps the tank is what sets clearomizers apart from a clear cartomizer. Im not sure about the wick, but thus far every carto Ive used or seen pictures of didn't use wicks or tanks.
I like the look of these clearomizers for one primary reason, that would be the tank. Id much rather fill something less often than every few hours. Cartomizers are more convenient than attys by far but even the largest ones need to be filled once a day or more.
I'm thinking the tank would alow you to just shake the device whenever you want to saturate the wick. With a setup like this im guessing I could probably go a couple days or more without adding liquid, with moderate vaping. That's a wild guess but the tank looks like it would prolong the time between refills.
I am a bit concerned about how well wicks perform though, and how fast they can get liquid to the heating element. Do they do well with a 50VG E-liquid for example?

Here's the thread, all video showing the major steps. (I didn't film cutting the tube or sealing it in the bottle because those are pretty basic and it's assumed you have some familiarity with knives and a glue gun. I only have 15 minutes per video after all. )I'm still using mine as we speak, and it's still going strong.

Only 5 days in, no smokes for me.. I have had a craving, but vape instead.. Seems to pass along like ships in the night.. I do miss a big throat hit and cloud of vapor, which sometimes is a struggle to get as a newbie..
I know quitting can be HARD....Lord knows I've done it enough times myself....but they say the urge to smoke goes away whether you light up or not, and it does! Good for you bahbond! =)
It is true. I switched from analog cigarettes back on Feb 10, 2011. Still have an unopened, full pack of smokes in the freezer and I smile every time I see it. I have no desire to switch back.

i didnt even want to quit smoking, but it happens at the moment ... hardly smoke cigarettes anymore, vaping tastes better
As far as I am aware, there is a wick in everything... not so apparent but cartomizers and attys have wicks.
Clearomizers are nearly instant heat/wick/vape.
I heard you shouldn't let the thing go empty. As it does go towards empty, if I'm not refilling and start tasting a bit of wick burn, I normally just need to keep the ecig horizontal and rotate the ecig for the wick at the bottoom to let the juice soak it as much as possible... yeah, I fill about once every 1 to 1 and half days but I seem to be vaping a lot unnecessarily as I am new and maybe am having a bit of an infatuation with my vaping... lolol
Thats interesting, I guess cartos with filler material have the wick inside the filler near the atty part. Its impossible to see it though, even on the clear cartos I've tried. Maybe that burning taste I get when my cartos need to be filled is the wick getting too hot when its starting to dry.
Carto coils have a wick material (fondly called diapers 'round here) wrapped around 'em. Wicks joose to the coils and 'isolates' the filler material. When fired dry, the diapers turn brown and it's time for a 'change' (ergo an appropriate name).

Yes, the burnt taste is likely the wick. I noticed with cartos, you need to let the set.. If you'r impatient, I fill.. puff for 20-30 puffs then refill with a few extra drops... Speeds up the juice settling process.. Make sure it doesn't drown but if the wick is constant wet, there should be no burnt taste.. Same thing happens to clearomizers but easier to see when you need a top up or juice not hitting the wick...
I have not had one cig since I started vaping. I am now 2+ years without a real cig. For me the answer is yes it absolutely helps with not smoking.
