We don't know what the FDA will do or won't. All I know is that I do not trust them at all. I have started buying a few rba's. Tonight I ordered 180ml of flavoring. In the following weeks I will order pg and vg. I will be down to 0 nic sometime this month. I enjoy vaping and will continue to vape, because I enjoy it.

So how much nic is too much nic. I need to know when to stop stashing......
It's an addiction you know. I have purchased 100mg from 3 different places and as soon as WL opens back up I will order from them as well. I'm documenting overall initial appearance so I can compare products. I have a freezer dedicated to nic only but I might have to buy a deep freeze pretty soon! I think I'm gonna make the FDA watch list but I have alot of friends who vape so I'm preparing for others too.
On a serious note though, I do have a lock on both the fridge and freezer door, don't forget about safety guys!!

Regardless of what ever the FDA does I think its a good idea to have a back up stock supply. You know that the minimum will be an outrageous tax on nic. If they try banning the sale of nic, how long would it take are suppliers to run out of it. Think of the wide spread panic. What ever happens here with the FDA will also impact other countries as well.

I don't think you mean 60% nicotine, do you? I'm thinking what you mean is nicotine liquid that has 60mg/ml of nicotine, which is 6% nicotine. 60% nicotine solution would have 600mg/ml of nicotine in it and be many, many levels more dangerous than 60mg/ml nicotine solution.

I have already since the beginning of the year got myself set up and ready for anything to happen. Call me nuts but its kind of nice to know you don't have to order much supplies for at least a couple years. Firstly, you should have at least 2 mods that take replaceable batteries because it will still be easy to get more batteries but there might not be mods available for purchase. However, i do think that with all the vape meet groups around, there will be a black market of box mods being sold under the table if there was a ban. I have 2 Provaris and a couple box mods and a couple other tube mods. I figure the only stuff that could be hard to get are mods or any type of Ecig, nicotine base and any type of cart/clearo or atomizer. I purchased 3 rather cheap $15 rebuildable tanks. I also bought 500 ml of nic which I've frozen and since I Vape at 8 mg, that will probably last me 2-3 years. The flavoring, wick and wire materials will always be available. As to the cost for the nic and rebuildable tanks...well, it cost me $60 for the 500 ml nic and 8 empty brown glass 60 ml bottles to break it down into smaller batches for storage, counting postage. The rebuildables for 3 of them were $45. So I'm set. Total cost $95. Done deal and not that expensive. Now I can Vape away and not have to order. Gonna sit back and see what happens. If nothing happens, good, I will still be able to not worry about supplies :)

I thinks it's a good to see this thread come back to the front. It's all speculation but we all know our hobby is going to change one way or another in the very near future. As it's been stated, we will need to come together as a community, attend your local vape meets and find out what other people are doing to prepare and have a plan. Find out what type of resources and talents your local communities have and talk about worst case scenario. I think most people that hang out in the DYI thread are in pretty good shape as most of us already have a decent supply on hand of nic. I have been checking out the classifieds and it seems alot of people are buying and selling e-juice. It might be coincidence but I have been seeing alot more postings lately for juice. If I'm wrong about this mods please chime in, I don't want to spread any misinformation. What scares me the most is just not knowing what is going to happen in April. Just prepare as well as you can and support you local/national groups that are sticking their necks out for us!!

Something I gotta say even though I don't have a lot of experience in dealing with bulk supplies of nic. I bought 500 ml of 48 mg nic and that alone had a lot of fumes to deal with in transferring it into smaller batches and kept me on my toes. Got a slight headache actually even in my kitchen with the window open nearby in the kitchen. I really don't personally feel comfortable with dealing with 100 mg nic in the same scenario. Maybe if it was just a small amount but a large amount to pour into smaller batches is very tedious and you better know what you are doing. Also, don't forget to sterilize your bottles. I boiled mine and soaked the tops in Everclear. That's just my pointers but what do I know.

I agree with everything you've said ... except ... it isn't a hobby. It's my lifeline. I couldn't quit smoking cigarettes. I tried off and on for 36 years. Vaping was The Only Method that worked seamlessly and painlessly. If the FDA is going to cut us off at the knees then we have to take responsibility for our vaping. WE have to help get everybody up to speed on how and what to stock up on. I don't think hardware will be the issue. DIY is going to get us all through it.

I haven't clicked around too much but is there a central repository of tried and true recipes? Broken down to personal tastes like 100% PG and all the percentages up to 100% VG?

I agree bobalex, It's my lifeline too. I do enjoy it so!!! As far as a central repository the only thing that comes close (I think), is the flavor threads for the name brand flavorings out there. I fear the worst though, if the FDA tries to "ban" the DIY stuff does that mean the DIY threads would have to be closed to stay in compliance with the law? I have been saving recipes that look good just for this reason. I'm not taking anything for granted. I think your right about the hardware, that should be one of the easier hurdles to overcome.

I don't see how they can ban the forums or talking about it. All you have to do is google something illegal and you will get tons of videos and forums on any subject. Lol. I won't be specific. Don't want to upset a moderator. Ha!

I wanted to jump in here with something to think about in case of a nicotine ban. I havent been on the diy forum much posting but Ive certainly been checking in. Like Kurt and alot of others Im also a 100% VG guy. I love it and started mixing my own the first week I started vaping full time over a year ago now... wow, its been a year... I smoked for 25...

Anyways what hasnt been discussed is how to make that precious nic juice last even longer and that is by decreasing your nic intake over time. I am now comfortably down to 6-8mg juices for my tobaccos and 0 nic for my fruit, drink, and other juices. I did this slowly over time with ZERO dissatisfaction, ZERO side effects, MINIMAL cravings for nic. I had a plan and followed it.

My point, decrease your nic consumption over time.

Every three to four weeks I lowered my tobacco juices by 2mg. I started vaping at 21mg. I lowered my other vapes by 4mg. (Note: I vape and am proficient with tobaccos mostly and use other flavors just to shake things up a bit. You can certainly take the juices you vape most and do the same. Make the others you dont vape as often in a lower dose of nic.)

I did keep one bottle on hand in my most liked juice that was double my current nic levels. So right now the only 12mg bottle I have is in Honey Flu Cured Virginia. I made a 30ml bottle two months ago... its still half full. If Im really craving I hit that till Im not.

I could drop my tobaccos as this point to zero nic and be fine. Ive just chosen not to for now. Ive been at 6mg for awhile.

You DO NOT have to keep vaping 18, 21, even 36mg nic if you dont want to. You CAN step down over time without any ill effects. I did 3-4 week cycles. Im perfectly happy and my Wizards Ice lasts me forever.

A big big shout out to the vets like Kurt, Hoosier, Salem, Cyrus, and others that helped me so much along the way. Ya'll are class acts!

    I'M 18, with 73 years of experience !!
Two things I've learned is you can't trust the government,.. and follow the money.
If you can afford to stock up, DO SO. What ??? you aren't going to use it ???
Failing to prepare, is preparing to fail ...
Do what you can as it's only going to cost you more later on in one form or another.
It's like taking advantage of a sale on toilet paper ... it will get used ....

    Thanks buffaloguy,
We are so happy to be off cigs that we don't consider this, at least I wasn't thinking in those terms yet. But thanks to wolcen, I started vaping just PG/VG Saturday to test two Vivi mini's and to get ready to compare the difference in two nics that I have. Surprisingly, I now think it wouldn't be that hard to cut down the nic level :thumb:

Am going the same way most others are -- hitting the nic-liquid first and stocking up on other things as the need arises... Other than the nic it would be your fav flavors even though flavors are not likely to be regulated.

Right now, at the stage of DIY I'm at, it's mostly single flavor mixes with the appropriate additives to pump up the flavor... Like a DIY Double RY4 -- 10% Dbl RY4/5% Caramel/5% Cream... Or my wife's fav flavor with is a 20% Raspberry/10% Cream mix

I think most are missing the fact that the government isn't really looking for a ban at this point (it's gotten to large, even BT is in on the game now). They want a piece of the action. Cigarette sales are down, pharm quit quick sales are down so they are looking to tax the hell out of us. Look at Utah, they just put in a proposed 86% tax on ecigs. They also want face to face sales only, no Internet. Worst case senerio I could see Internet sales getting hit, which means you will start seeing brick and mortars popping up everywhere. Don't forget also that liquid nic was sold before ecigs. You can still go online and buy tobacco leaves to ryo tax free. There are so many facets to vaping that I think the governments heads are spinning trying to figure out what the hell to do. It's not as simple as a 20pk cig box, there are thousands of variations o Pv's and mods out there. They haven't found a way to ban the synthetic drugs yet, tech they are incense. To I guess you could see ejuice relabeled as aromatherapy in the future. Just my 2 cents.

I've recently also been working on making cotton wicks and coils, which will be no problem to get if need be. Got a cotton roll from the local CVS store for $5 and it will last like forever. Wire is no problem to get. Saved my many Vivi nova heads and can rebuild them also with cotton wicks. The rebuildables I have are drunker tanks which are very similar to Vivi's. good deal.
