No, the court said that the FDA couldn't regulate them like a NRT, but could regulate them like a tobacco product. Since an unapproved NRT is banned as SOP by the FDA, I can see where the confusion comes from, but it's not the same thing.

If the FDA decides that only 0mg juice is allowed for e-cig use, or that the maximum output of an e-cig device is 1.2 Watts, would that be any better than a total ban? I know for me that a very low or 0mg juice regulation would be worse than a ban, because I would have spent money and never switched to vaping. Where as if it was banned, then I'd never had the chance to waste the money and still have the same result of still smoking.

There are worse things than a ban and it would be pretty easy to regulate them in such a way that it could be worse.

On January 16, Germany's central bank made a startling announcement. It asked for the return of gold stored in America and France.
Why? What does Germany see?
Well lets see how they explain this one away!!

Canada came down on Vapor Geek about E liquid and sellling liquid with nic. There having a 25% off all liquid. Zero nic for them.

On another thread they were talking about how customs has picked up the pace and are turning away pkgs from China.
The number they were using was 30%. That could explain the out of stock at so many shop's, last week I was thinking our Christmas
their NewYear... could we be seeing the writing on the wall?

Chinese new year is coming up soon. Expect a month of no shipments from China. Some will still ship, but many will not. I think Chinese new year starts Feb 12, or thereabouts. Someone can correct me. In 2010, when everyone was still raw from the NJoy/FDA case, CNY caused a bit of panic in these parts...but all was fine in the end.

After reconsidering all of my options, I decided to go ahead and order 1000ml of 100mg nic. I got a newsletter from vapingzone and a 10% off coupon code. The coupon is 10off for anyone interested. The total was 107.95, free shipping. I have heard their nic is good. Bring on the hazmat suit!! I'm gonna cut it down to 50mg before freezing. That'll eventually make us about 5600ml of 18mg juice when all is said and done.

I have worked with 100mg nic before. I read all of the info I could. I wore nitrile gloves, a plastic apron, covered my countertop with plastic sheeting, and wore eye protection. No one else home, no tv on, no radio, no distractions. I didn't spill a drop, and I was glad when it was over. Threw away the plastic sheeting just in case.

WTG Jewels! I do the same, except in place of the sheeting I use a large baking/cookie sheet (with sides) to contain any accidents, and in place of the apron...LOL, a garbage bag! Hey, it works! It was horribly nerve wracking at first, but it is so worth it in the end to be able to concentrate your amounts like that. I will always maintain a healthy respect for it however because I know it can be potent. Just a warning to anyone who uses nic at this strength, use precautions and stay alert. A friend of mine who mixes occasionally got cocky and was using undiluted 100mg nic bare handed, pouring from the container into bottles, and spilled some on his hand. Instead of washing it off immediately, he had to finish what he started, and by the time he got himself to the sink, his heart rate had already increased dramatically and he broke out in a major sweat. He got scared and drove himself to the hospital and his blood pressure was twice normal as was his heart rate, and they kept him for observation until his readings normalized. Now he is much more careful of course, but there is no need to test your sensitivity when a few precautions make it a simple matter instead of an emergency. A no brainer, really. Don't tempt fate. Fate has a tendency to win, and hurt you in the process! DIY is loads of fun, just respect the ingredients!

May I digress into a rant for a moment? How is it that cigarettes can still be sold while all this fuss is taking place about electronic ones? I'm not going to preach to the choir about the difference, but it infuriates me that they used our addiction against us to raise the price of cigarettes knowing that enough of us addicts would continue to buy them to line their coffers, and now they are trying to wield the sword against us again in regard to our new "healthier addiction" to keep us jumping through hoops! Is it only me that feels targeted or am I just paranoid? What redeeming qualities do cigarettes have, aside from the profits they rake in, that they are allowed to be sold, but electronic ones shouldn't, or be severely limited? And how are they going to squeak it by so it doesn't just scream "this is all about money!!!" Some of us will do whatever we have to do to continue vaping, but sadly, plenty will revert because it is just so much easier! Don't you think "they" realize this, are in fact planning for it? It really bothers me too that all the people who can benefit from vaping like I did won't be able to if the FDA has their way. Oh, let me shut up, I'm just rambling and not even coherent. I'm just so ......, this is so unfair!

It's OK. Being aware of what government agencies actually do has the rant effect on everyone initially. You'll get calmer and more cynical as time goes on, but more disgusted as you learn that this specific area of concern is just a dot in a huge tapestry.

I'm old and don't have a lot of time to waste getting much more cynical! I just want to be allowed to spend my time in my happy little vaping bubble, mixing up exotic DIY concoctions to tickle my tastebuds and keep a smile on my face. Why do they have to make that so difficult?

Hoosier, while I have your attention, I want to thank you so much for your excellent advice in your blog, especially the one in regards to how much flavor to use! That is definitely required reading for anyone delving into DIY, and probably the single greatest cause of failure and frustration en route. When I first started I couldn't figure out why all my mixes tasted like some kind of nasty potent chemical instead of the supposed flavor on the label. No flavor says: add more. Ugh, tastes worse! Must be these crappy flavors! Or my abused taste buds..or something! It would have never occurred to me that I was using too much flavor! Until I read your blog. OMG! A revelation! I was stupefied! (notice the resemblance to "stupid" there?) WOW! Sure glad I didn't throw it all away because once I diluted everything at least by half, it actually started to resemble the flavor on the bottle! Yippee skippee! Success at last! All thanks to Hoosier! I'm not the first, and certainly not the last whose DIY "career" was totally transformed by your thoughtful advice! So from the bottom of my heart I thank you Hoosier! You da man!!!

I couldn't say it better, it's always about the money. No matter how much is made in taxes, it's never enough.. That's all it's about. We have seen cigs taxed more and more but none of this money is used for smokers. I live in Illinois which is by no means the highest of the tax rates out there, but with a pack a day habbit the amout of money I spent far exceeded what my health insurance cost while being a smoker. Don't think for one minute those taxes are there to deter smoking. It's nothing more than a windfall....

... So from the bottom of my heart I thank you Hoosier! ...

You are most welcome. It's great that someone can learn from my mistakes! I know it takes me quite awhile to learn from them...

And Thomasis, I think it is even worse than you pointed out, but you are right.

Being unemployed right now has put me in a position, for the first time in my time mixing, where I have had to pull bottles out of the freezer. The good news is that the nic is fine. The bad news is that my stash is going down instead of up.
