Wow. This post right here just made it all "ok" as I was putting my initial laundry list together. I looked at the bottom line and was wondering if I'm going over board. Do I really need the extra batteries now? Is that tank kit worth getting right now, etc, etc. I feel so much better about my "if you're going to be a bear, be a grizzly" approach. I'm still on analogs and refining the vaping goodies list based on all of the information I have gathered so far. Perfect timing. I don't feel bad now. :2cool:

ARamos,

Why ever feel bad about spending money on possibly saving ones life? Not smelling like an ash tray ever again. Improving ones health and well being. Even if Vaping cost us twice the price of smoking, why not make the switch..?

I personally spend less than $50 per month with my vaping habit. And feel much better that I do not smoke any longer. Many benefits from making the switch. You will make it too!

Good Luck!!!

Once you get going, you will probably find ways to save more money, if that is still an issue. For example, I go through a lot of juice, and it was expensive buying it premade (and not really all that great, either). I can't say I've improved the taste, but I make my own juice now, and it is so much cheaper, I don't even think about it. I'd estimate I'm spendng $30 (or less) a month on vaping now, including attys. I got a good system (a reo mod) that will last and last and last- and the next time I buy a nicotine solution, I'll buy just as good or better quality than I did the first time for a lot less money, just because I've become aware of more vendors. I should be down to $20/month after that!

So go into this with confidence. You really can't make a serious mistake. As long as you vape some, you'll be saving money and health as time goes on : )

PS Extra batteries are a good thing! You don't want to put yourself in the position where you can't vape because you don't have a charged battery... then it's off to 7/11 for sure!

BUT, if that happens, still don't fret. I can smoke a cigarette or two and go right back to happily vaping. That's because I haven't really given up nicotine, I just take it in another form. It's been very easy for me to switch back to vaping, not at all when I would quit smoking before, and then months later, 'have just one', just to be fully in the addiction again!

Honestly, we never get out of the nicotine addiction by vaping (unless you use it to gradually cut down), we just are controlling how we administer it.

It's that time again! Time to give a shout out to PaporPlas: WAHHHHHHH-HOOOOO! Wow ellendiane I couldn't agree more with your philosophy. I read a post, somewhere on one of these informative forums, that said to be truly backed up you should consider a pass through for your car. I haven't gotten one yet but I will. If you face a natural disaster, like hurricane Isaac, and have to go a long time with no power a pass through that works off a car analog lighter sounds like a good investment.

PaporPlas your thread continues to help others. Way to go! (one very LOUD and pronounced CAW!):D

In less than a week I ended up spending money on a big batt mod, at day ten I bought a tank.. and here I sit.

It doesn't 'need' to look like a cig.
It doesn't have to be tobacco flavored.

It does need to be easy to use.
It does need to have the capacity in juice and batt to keep you from constantly messing with it.

Thats just two cents from a guy very new to vaping but very succefully killing out the 'craves'.

I think this is highly subjective... For me, it does "need to look and feel" a cig (Think I'm as addicted to that as the tobacco). However I have discovered that it doesn't need to taste like tobacco for me (I kinda think tobacco tastes like poop now). So, different strokes for different folks I quess. For me, I have to have that cig feel or I'm sure I'll crave a cig.

That what I am trying to do with my V4L juices. I have 100% peppermint oil at home, so I just added 2 or 3 drops through syringe into my WOW supermint Nobacco juice, which did not have any mint flavor, and now it rocks. Also I added just a tiny bit of vanilla crystals to RY4 Nobacco juice, and it tastes much better for me now. Don't know how to improve Espersso flavor, however.

I don't know if oil is a good idea... remember it goes to your lungs!

Vanilla sounds good for the espresso too...

I had 30ml bottle of that mint juice, so just 3 drops of oil. Hopefully, it's insignificant in quantity, but improves the quality of flavor tremendously!

I was thinking about adding vanilla in espresso as well, but then I am going to have 60ml of vanilla flavor, which is not my top choice anyway...

Just buy a small bottle of vanilla food flavoring and add a drop or two. I am not talking about the vanilla you cook with, but food flavoring from someone like Capella. No need to buy vanilla juice.

I second you there, VapDrak. I just mixed up some juice using organic orange oil, which also had, listed as the main ingredient, sunflower oil... I wondered, but hey, it was all organic!

Well, after a day I stopped vaping it- it was just strange and very coating. I think if I had pure orange oil, a few drops would have been fine, but vaping sunflower oil was not a good idea.

Flavors have to be extracted into something, however. Often I see water and alcohol listed in the ingredients. Because I'm using pure VG for my base (well, VG with nicotine) my juice is too thick, and I need something to cut it a bit. I'm thinking I might just try some rum and stop trying to mix other flavors altogether. After all, I used to smoke tobacco, and that doesn't really taste so great!

Also, I don't think you can hurt an espresso flavor with vanilla-- it should taste yummy :p

I wish I would have seen this post earlier in the week! I'm stuck like Chuck right now waiting on my order of juice to come in. It should have been here today but alas, it won't be here until Tuesday...I think I'll have enough to last until then, but I'll be cutting it close. I really don't want to smoke an analog...might have to run out and pick up a disposable

IMF,

You might also try your local tobacco shop, cigarette/cigar shop....they sometimes carry fairly sucky (but in a pinch) 10ml bottles for like 10 bucks. Just to get you through.

Also, search Yelp for e-cig brick & mortar stores within driving distance of you. A google search doesn't always turn it up....whereas a Yelp can.

Good luck!

Definitely don't use oils... Even in small quantities they are not good. I get all my flavorings from HERE. They are cheap, but very good and good quality.

Thanks Ronda! At those prices, I can try as many flavorings as I want. And, Wizard Labs is where I'm planning to get my next bottle of nicotine solution. I got my first bottle from Totally Wicked. The juice is good (though smelly), but it costs 3 to 4 times as much!

I quit smoking after three days, or thats when I convinced myself it was going to happen this way! It did, I haven't touched a cigarette in many months, almost a year. I have even tested myself in those certain situations where a relapse is likely! I don't understand how someone could have started regular use of the ecig (like a month or more) and then tell me that after a few hours of a failed ecig they resort to buying a pack of cigarettes. Thats when you have to start from the beginning again, seems much more difficult to me, kinda weak will of a person!
