I definitely agree about the under stocking part. I have had to go pay $10 for a 10ml bottle of juice because I didn't order more juice in time. Right now I am having troubles because I am having problems re-wicking my Ego-t and everything taste like crap right now and I have no back ups. I don't know of any brick and mortar stores that sell 510 cartos here to get me by until I get my new tanks.

I totally agree! You really must put your heart (and wallet) to vaping because it really works. Buy the best system you can afford after reading reviews and posts from the "veterans". I really love vaping and dont crave for real cigarettes even if i spend time with my friends who really smoke real cigarettes a lot. Vaping really works and i love it. Thanks ecf!

Yep, I was in Hawaii this past week and was sharing my vape with my co-worker and ran out of juice. Had to pay $10 for 10ml. : o

It's that time again!
That's riiiight!:?:

It's time to give a humoungous shout out to PaporPlas: Yawhooooo-ooo-ooooey WOW! :)

How goes it out there on the "left" coast? Your thread still continues to help others; awesome!
My DIY efforts have been minimal lately because of all the e-liquid I have been given! I've still got about 35ml (all 5 ml bottles) still in my steeping drawer; only one of them isn't a tobacco flavor. I have been given a total of 52 ml of 3 different e-liquid flavors and have been very busy trying to vape them up!

Thanks, again, for such a good and useful thread.

I just had to stop by just 'cause I like your Just cause....oh phooey....Just CAWS!

Really sage advice.

I ordered enough barely. It's been 4 days and I don't want a stinky.

I like my blackberry juice better than my Tobacco flavored juice.

I felt I should get enough to where I wouldn't have to fall back on stinkies if I felt the urge.

2 twists, 2 kanger clearo's 30 ml of juice.

On day 3 I ordered another 60ml of juice, 5 heads for the kangers a vivi Nova clearo tank, 5 carto's 2 M1A1 tanks and a Buzz Pro.

The 2 kangers and 2 twists are absolutely the minimum gear wise imo.

I'll probably get a drip head for sampling juice and some more clearos so I can have more flavors on tap.

I'l looking a Ahlusion, and Halo more a more varied juice selection.

After vaping for ~3 weeks, I'd say getting the starter kit for my eGo C was a bit of a waste. You'll quickly find yourself using other delivery systems instead of the eGo C/T's tank system, which just blows in comparison to any other alternative. Just buy two batteries of your preference (if you're going the eGo route, skip the C/T and just get the Twist instead, there are no cons to this, and plenty of pros), a charger and your choice of delivery system. It will be cheaper, and you can use the money saved on more juice and some additional cartomizers/clearomizers/atomizers instead.

I completely agreed with this thread. I'm not actually vaping right now, but what I want to say is that before starting investing in this, I did a bit of research to get an idea of what's out there and what would suits me. And if you don't like reading forum posts I think video reviews are quite insightful.

Do! Buy a starter kit that has good reviews, and try more than just one until you find the one that works for you.
Don't! Be intimidated by information that would prevent you from getting off analogs. Vaping is a better choice and enjoyable.
Do! Stick with it and purchase the next best thing to enhance your enjoyment of vaping. Hell we spent how much already on analogs?
Don't be afraid to try new things, and ask a ton of questions along the journey.
Do! Join this Forum or other forums such as Smokenjoey.com or many others that our out there.
Don't Worry, your not gonna be a noob for very long.
Do! Pay it forward.

Right from the beginning:
  • DON'T UNDERSPEND
  • DON'T UNDERESTIMATE
  • DON'T UNDERSTOCK

  • DO GET THE BEST PERSONAL VAPE SYSTEM
  • DO EXPECT EXPECT TO QUIT ANALOGS - FOREVER
  • DO PURCHASE MORE THAN ENOUGH FROM THE BEGINNING
I have only been Vaping for one week. Thus, I am experiencing first hand, the early challenges of switching from analogs to eCigs. I'm sure all the Vets on here can tell you much better than I can, the ins & outs of the best way to Vape, and what systems work best for different applications. But, what I am saying is THIS WORKS, if you give Vaping and yourself a chance from the beginning.

Because, it is way easier to buy another pack of smokes than it is to replenish your eCig stock. So, make certain you are ready to go the distance. Don't assume Vaping might not work for you. IT WILL AND IT DOES! Make certain you purchase a system that delivers the correct amount of nicotine for YOU. Spend however much it takes. The first month (from what I can tell) will be expensive - anything is costly when you first "start up". There are costs to any new experience to just get the ball rolling.

I didn't want to "commit" to eCigs at first, so I did one of those silly promotional ads. $4.99 for a starter kit. It tasted terrible, and had lots of small print that was going to cost way more than just purchasing a good Vape system, in the first place. That trial kit lasted one day and I went back to analogs. Then, I saw a disposable (Blu) when I was buying a pack of smokes and decided I'd give eCigs one more chance. Thank God I did. That Blu had 24mg of nicotine and did the trick. Next, I did some research (still had not found this wonderful forum ECF, so googled a lot) and decided on a Pig Cig. I ordered an extra box of Carts and really glad I did, because I am into that box and waiting on juices I ordered to begin refilling my cartomizers with.

I liked smoking menthol, so I ordered menthol carts with my Pig Cig starter kit. But, only received one box of menthol and the other one was "Tobacco" flavor. I didn't realize this until I went through the menthol box of 5, and was still researching what e-liquids I wanted to order. My first thought? Oh, I'll just buy a pack of menthol smokes until I can get a bottle of menthol liquid, because I didn't want to smoke the tobacco flavored carts due to the taste.

Well, I popped open the tobacco carts anyway, and tried one. Not my fancy, but I am into my 3rd day of smoking the tobacco flavor and didn't buy the smokes! I rush ordered my menthol refill e-liquid (a mint one too : ) and I am going to make it. If the tobacco flavored ones run out, I'm down to Walgreens to buy a couple of Blu menthol eCigs.

Switching to vaping from analogs isn't that tough. Actually, it's much easier then smoking (I can do it in the car; I don't stink; i feel better). But, buying eCigs and their supplies is not as easy as analogs. Thus, do the do's, not the dont's.

Have a contingency plan. Walgreens selling the Blu disposables is mine. By the way, the Blu starter kit Walgreens sales is an older one, maybe not the best PV to buy. And, read the heck out of this forum, you'll learn much. What's the most you have to loose? If you do the do's you will be smoke free. And, over a few weeks you will begin to save the dollars and begin to feel better. More importantly, you will save your life.
Awesome.

For Menthol, have you tried Menthol Sensation from Hangsen? It's like winter fresh air, or a breathe which very much resemble the coolest air in midnight.

Electronic cigarettes offer a very unlimited range to its enjoyment. Once one finds that perfect flavor that's it. Healthier and classier life.

When I first started vaping. I rationalized by looking at the cost of a carton of cigarettes in a 1 month time span. The I bought a ego kit, and some juice. I still spent less then those cartons, and the ego lasted me way more then a month. Then I just started reading posts. Figured out what apv I wanted, and saved a little every week till I was able to purchase my proVari. I recently started Making my own liquid, saving me even more money.

What time is it? It's time to give one heck of a big shout out to PaporPlas! :) Wahhhoooo-eee-ooo-eee-yeee-haw-howdy Dee!

Amazing and interesting news I have for you today re: don't underspend. I have been posting in a thread to support a sick person and became extremely interested in this community and their hardware. I started a modest fund, about 6 months ago, and kept socking back $5 or $10 at every opportunity, no less than $5/week. Finally I was able to buy an amazing piece of hardware that is fabulous.....here's a picture of my SS GGTS!
GGTS2.jpg
I know it's almost sacrliege to put a Vivi Nova Mini on this piece of art but its all I had! My hardware fund is shot! I'm starting over again and maybe one day I will be able to afford a more appropriate tank.

DIY continues to go well. I am getting better and better at mixing my own favorite genre of e-liquids -tobacco.

Thank you PP! Your thread is really one of the best...and so are you....you know that there is only one other thing I could possibly say and that's........CAW! ;)

I have spent more money trying to find the right ecig for me i still am on the small en style never even knew there were these huge mods until recently im interested in buying a huge mod and tank system so im not constatnly charging and refilling but idk what is the best one to buy? Any suggestions??

Welcome tgardner23! I don't know if your question is addressed to me or not but I'll pretend it is! :)

The first thing you should do is get 5 posts so that you can freely move around this forum. There are many, many, more experienced, more savvy, and older members than myself....heck I'm not even a veteran yet!

The answer to your question is more complex than you know. There are so many good mods at various prices with different delivery systems it boggles the imagination. Anyway here is my :2c: (that's my 2 cents worth)

I consider the top of the heap variable voltage mods; at the top is the Provari. I consider the top mechanical mod to be the one I just acquired the GGTS. It is a hand made mod and can be hard to come by. It can perform at variable voltage but does so without electronics the way the Provari does.

There are many others, however, notable, and by the high number of positive posts, good. Here are just a few: Lava Tube (VV), Z-Max (VV), any of the many box mods (VV) and the ego twist (VV) just to name a few. Supply systems can be bought to fit the PV you have so they are as varied too. My apologies to the many fine PVs I have failed to mention. The trick is buying the proper supply system for the PV you settle on.

Keep reading at this forum and keep looking. You're bound to find the one that makes you think, "That's the one for me." whether it is a PV or supply system. I don't believe there is a "right" or "wrong" PV or supply system just so many options that the trick is to find the one that is best for you.

Good luck and don't stop trying!

I am always amazed when folks won't balk at spending $25 to $50 a week on a carton of cigarettes but balk at spending $100 for a start-up type of set up that, including juice, will last at least a month! They go the cheap route on a PV kit then end up wasting a ton of $$. If you spend the money and get good hardware to begin with then replacing attys, carts, juice will end of being cheaper than buying cigarettes....unless your like me and it becomes an insane hobby as well and you want to try everything you see!! :p

That was #1 in my play book from the start. I didn't research a thing, it was almost an impulse buy that I woke up one morning, decided I was going to by an e-cig rather than my normal smokes at the gas station. My first few days I overspent, because I didn't know anything and all I knew was I was gonna need a second battery and probably 3 cartos a day to hold me. That got me searching and I found ECF and was able to begin ordering better stuff.

But I still have that fallback that if I feel I need cartos, or somehow all my batteries crap out I can drive to the gas station and hold myself over while waiting for the postal service.

Just yesterday I saw Blu has suddenly appeared all over the place here, so that even gives me more options.

I knew one of my biggest obstacles to quitting smoking was the convenience. You can buy cigarettes anywhere and that's part of what makes it so difficult to quit, so I knew I had to at least have a chance by having some form of e-cig easily accessible.
