I was having a wicking problem with some very thick 60/40. I have just done the cotton roll thing and put my old coil wire back on after straightening it and it wick as fast as I can chain vape now. I was hoping to not have to use any cotton, but the tiny amount used I cannot even taste it. I even have the fill screw in. There is hope. I think I need to but a few more of these tanks. I am going to wait till they are less expensive though.

The EXEL 10ml syringes works perfectly. It's nice and snug, but doesn't have to be forced on.

Also I don't know if anyone cares, but the mini DID thumb screws actually work with this, so you can have a tool free installation of the coil.

If anyone is interested, there's been 3 co-ops for these and I believe there may be another in the near future. The one co-op I was in got them for $7 each + shipping and fees. Keep an eye on the co-op Planning and Discussion area. http://www.e-cigarette-forum.com/forum/coop-planning-discussion/. I should have mine tomorrow.

Doh! I ended up drilling the airhole too big -- 1/16" (or so it said on the drill bit). Too airy now, and I get high from just a few hits now.

Any ideas on how I can make it smaller? So far I'm torn between JB-Stik and punching a hole with a needle before it dries, or soldering a short chunk of a syringe needle into it.

That would be sweet. But for now, the manufacturer is making clear plastic tubes, so I guess it's back to sit and wait for someone to get them. I know they are selling the new ones with a clear tank, but I haven't heard if they are going to sell the clear tanks by themselves. Has anyone heard about the clear tanks from the manufacturer?

Checking back in:

Cotton method seems to work pretty good. I rolled a new wick and coil, with the added cotton and am now up and vaping. Since I wasn't so sure how it'd work out I used a juice I wouldn't miss much if I had to toss it...so some time today I'll do it all over again with a juice I'm familiar with.

Is it normal to hear occasional pop sounds when you first roll a new wick this way? The wick is good and wet, as well as the cotton. Just wanted to check in and see.

Another genesis newbie here with a DUD. I seem to have finally gotten a wick/coil set up and working properly after several hours of trying. I was having a great deal of difficulty with that top coil hot spot. I did a whole bunch of further oxidizing and coil wrapping and fiddling about until eventually that wasn't happening anymore. So that's good. But, here's the bad.

The top two coils still end up glowing red on a longer burn or when I do one right after the other. (And this is with juice in the tank.) Is that normal or is there still something wrong with my setup. Also, I know there can be a break-in period with these, but I'm feeling a bit underwhelmed by the performance thus far. There doesn't seem to be a great deal of vapor or exceptional flavor, so there must be something wrong; it's not meshing with everything I've seen/read/heard about these.

The coil is registering 1.6 ohms, and that's with a 5/6 coil setup. I'm using the materials included in the kit.

Any help would be greatly appreciated and be sure to let me know if there is any further information that would be of help.
