The first mech I ever bought was a Noisy Cricket. I didn’t build on it right away because I was a touch nervous. I watched a few youtube vids on using it and thought it was no biggie. Normally I have an excellent memory but when I went to build on it a few weeks later I had forgot one good piece of info. I put a .2 ohm build on it. Works out to a tad over 350 watts. I went from a reclined position to standing on my feet in about half a second. While staring at the ceiling my wife asked me what was I doing, I replied that I was talking to God.

Good Thread.

Keep in mind I've been doing this awhile...

1.Trusting the vape shop guy exclusively and buying his hand mixed creations. mmmm that takes me back.
2.Spending lots of time rebuilding Kanger Pro tank coils. Anyone?
3.Obtaining maybe nearly a crate of Kanthal wire of all different gauges and twisty configurations. I just by pre-made coils now. Anyone need a crate of Kanthal?

That's enough for now I guess

I bought 100 ft spools each of 24-32g kanthal still working on it lol but at least I won't run out anytime soon. Won't run out of cotton either, about 50 feet left of that. Although neither of these are mistakes except the 30g and 32g. I never use those.. just 26 and 28 mainly.

Vaguely similar experience. Bought a Noisy Cricket 1 on sale as the 2s were coming out. (Third mech, hated my first a 4 Nine clone... Love and use my Phantus Mini daily!) Thought that since I use a 1.6 ohm coil that would be total safe in the NC. Twice the voltage and four times the watts, but still 1 "point" 6 ohms! Nope, popped like a fuse the first time I dry fired it.

Noisy Cricket has been lying on my desk untouched for over a year. Now if it was made of solid brass and felt good in my hand I would try again with some different wire...

1. Ignoring advice if nice lady in vape shop when buying first sub ohm tank I might want to reduce nic strength - taking a massive pull on some 12mg juice when walking down the street, nearly blacking out and going back to get some 6mg juice feeling like a dizzy idiot...

2. Using high VG liquid in an ego style setup until gunk was seeping through the airholes of the clearomiser, and flooded into the battery. And thinking there was something wrong with the tank so doing exactly the same to my back up clearomiser. ..

Have unfortunately done this repeatedly.

4. Hosting a vape juice tasting party with my collection of 12 mg juice. I think we all made it to juice 4 or 5 before the first guest started turning green

Forgetting more than once that not glowing isn't the same as not hot.
Tanks will leak for no apparent reason and the worst possible time, this drove me to squonking.
Finally figuring out that vaping isn't smoking. You can be pretty sure that if you set fire to a cig it will burn. Any number of things can and will prevent vape from happening. Carry backups for everything:) Going on a cross country visit with a single Njoy battery was a bad mistake.

Using my son's aspire Cleto tank with 12 m,g. of nic in it. I was like.... I don't feel so hot maybe I need more nicotine??

LOL still a MTL vaper for THE WIN. To make it worse I was in the throws of quitting. I mean....

Thank goodness for ECF.

How's the woogah plague?
(My buddys term for pnuemonia as he made 'woogah' sounds while he had it.)

My dumbest mistake early on was smoking while vaping. I mean like vaping with a lit cigarette.
Tricked my brain into those yummy flavors means it's time for a cigarette.

Second dumbest mistake was taking my first ever puff on a 50ml pod while entering a round about in my car. Wooo, wooo, wooo, roundy round we go, oh crap here comes a guardrail...phew missed it by (pinching fingers) that much...lol
Mrs States said "the speed limit is 35 and you're going 12, how come?" I said "try this thing". Hah, she's a direct lung vaper and took a big ole lung exploding drag next thing I hear was "bwah-hack, cough-woogah,cough" and when she could breath again said (with eyes all watering from coughing) "there needs to be a law against these things"...

By now we'd cleared the round about after like 3 loops (lol) and I says to Mrs States "I'm so high right now". She was all plastered back against the car seat and says "me too".

The biggest mistake was an accidental burnt hit from a noisy cricket (series) with dry cotton. I thought I already dripped. My own dumb fault. Still gives me nightmares...

After something like that, I always pop the top off to check if my wick is wet.

I feel human today for the first time in... 12 days?

Yoga was like a dream, seriously it was like floating over clouds etc.

I think in part, it was because it was after 6 a.m. but also, I don't have an (audible to me) wheeze.

I really want the pneumonia shot, my pre-COPD lungs have come a long way, but they're still freaking... delicate little flowers. I'm going to find out which doc of mine not only knows the term "prior auth" but actually knows how to use it.

I can't get pneumonias anymore apparently they are just... .Ugh.

I can add to my previous items --

--probably not starting with a more real mod sooner. I was a total newbie and unsure. I used equipment for a few years that was just not as satisfying but I stuck it out and never went back to cigs.
same here . detested "clearos" and stuck with cartos until 3 yrs after Nautilus came out then got that. Mods I could care less about .
