On the regular size r4 cartos it now says they hold .6ml of liquid. The r4 holds less liquid? Why is that?
Without having one and just going by the picture Bad posted I would say the material used to seal the cup to the air tube is displacing some volume that would have been available for liquid before.

980 degrees? well that's well under the melting point of a gold connecting rod, which could provide current from the centerpost to the cup along the airstem!
...

For the Last time.

Heat is Not a Unbounded Force. Measured Heat from a source is a Function of Many Variables but the two simplest are Linear Distance and Thermal Density (Energy per unit time per unit area).

Linear Distance is the Reason a camp fire feels cooler the Farther you sit from it.

Thermal Density is the Reason a Wooden match doesn’t feel as Hot a camp fire at the Same Distance.

(Ok, but I meant gold, not cold, if I had a gold lead to the coil and the coil had one or one and a half less loops on the edge of the cup, there should be less resistance.

Thanks, yeah, that does look like silicone at the base. Fine w/ me, I don't think that's where the old glue smell was coming from.

I thought if you burned it it gave off an awful smell. Anyway, if it's material that cures in time, I hope they simply allow it to cure in a ventilated area, prior to filling or sealing the cartos. It's simple, but I hope it's not overlooked.

_________

(Allowing curing time on many things also refer to a bead size that is specified in the directions (afaik), it does not mean that a pyramid of the putty will cure in the same number of days as a small bead of it would.

For example, if a Roadrunner uses a putty from the ACME company, the tube might say something like apply a bead no larger than 1/8", and allow it to cure in a ventilated area for 72hrs. But if the coyote tries a bead of 1" and expects it to be cured in minutes instead of weeks, it could fail)

so they didn't change the wick at all? so ptb is still probably gonna be needed?

Dunno. But I like the sound of "Anti Leak Fiber" on the pic Bad posted. If it is what I think it is it will help with leaking AND do the job of PTB.

When I suggested the concept of putting something by the slots to stop leaking / help wicking, I wasn't thinking of PTB. I was thinking of something more like Blu Foam or Poly.

Maybe they have incoroporated something like poly into the area around the cup slits.

this thing has been tested and re tested, it works and it wicks and it DOES NOT LEAK, nothing melts, nothing burns. this is what we wanted right??

this isnt something they came up with this week, this has taken weeks to get the design right, i just teased you with a pic last night to wet your appetites and decieve you as well, that pic has sealant, i figured that would make some of you say wtf?
lol
