I don't know, the color of the wick bothers me a little. It really looks like they've been pre-fired or something. The primer is clear so it's not changing color from that.

And the walls of the filler ring actually slide down to cut the ceramic. The filler holes are more like slits in the outer rim of the filler ring.

I've seen that on a few blanks from my previous orders. The wicks are typically very white, but some of the strands in a few were a tan or brown color. It's not dirty, it's just an off color. I did receive one 510 carto from my last shipment that had a primer in it. I think they were playing with priming or not priming them. It was just straight clear PG I think. Seemed too runny to be VG.

I just got mine also, and was in the process of taking pics to post (as well as making a few posts in the New Members forum so I could post here, since I've just been lurking). I refreshed the page and it looks like nightsong beat me to the punch, with some better pictures too.

Yeah, there's definitely some type of primer liquid in them. I also noticed the discolored wick and it seems a bit odd. I don't think the first one I pulled out was that bad, or at least I didn't notice it. I filled it up and it's on my wetbox vaping strong and tasting great. I do taste something "off" every now and then, but it's only for a hit and then it seems fine again.

I have some of a previous revision that I ordered from Vapor Junction a couple weeks ago. I'm not sure which version they are, but the inner cap is hard white plastic instead of the clear silicone like the new one, with two filler holes. Other than that they look pretty much identical except for the material of the cup. The old ones were working well for me once I boiled them and got rid of the glue on the top of the cup. I was using the clear inner o-ring from some LR cartos that I had in place of the hard white plastic and then just removing it to refill. The new ones seem like nearly the exact same thing without me having to do the extra work.

Can you guys explain exactly how and when you're cleaning these? I keep seeing mention of a dry burn, but do I need to rinse with water before or after doing this?

Also, I'm using these on a wetbox, and it seems to me that the filler tube doesn't go high enough to even get the juice in the right spot. I've tried squeezing the bottle, and it does actually seem to be working (either that or my cart isn't empty yet) but it seems like with these cartos the juice would actually have to go much higher to reach the wick.

Nice pictures, nightsong. Thanks. It's nice to know that they've (apparently) made the inner caps easy to remove.

I've used the 510's on my WetBox, and aside from being a bit harsh at 3.7v, it works fine. The trick is to give it just one good hard pump, and no more. That'll "squirt" enough liquid up on the bottom of the wick for the coil to vaporize. Be careful not to over-pump because the excess will just run down the air tube. Too much of that and you'll probably get liquid in the switch (not good).

I injected .8 ml after removing both caps and had juice running out. (Instruction card advised max .6 ml next to picture and max 1 ml below that so I took the average.) Let it sit for at least 30 minutes. 4th vape tasted burnt (approx 5 second drags on ego). Removed caps and verified I could still see the liquid. Added 1 mil which brought the liquid to just below top of ceramic, didn't drip out this time.

Occurred to me that the snugness between the sides of this cap and the ceramic could be strangling the wick, opened another and verified that the top of thicker silicon cap is sitting flush with the top of the ceramic and the filling holes are perpendicular to the wic. I removed it and just inserted up to where it was just sitting on top of the ceramic, not cupping it. Was able to take 12 vapes over ~20 minutes before the burnt taste returned. This time it took 3 ml liquid to fill.

I noticed on this 2nd one that the wic was very clean and did not appear to have any primer. Opened the rest to check and I have 3 with primer and 2 without?

I and others are finding shorter drags work better on these. I was getting the same results w/ mine (non ceramic).

Others have noted that in the past, sounds like that could be the case.

Thanks for the vid Turbo, very helpful. I've tried a few flavors now, and I really like these. As I said above, I notice it tastes "off" every now and then, but I don't know that I taste anything I'd describe as burned. I am using it on my wetbox though, so I just just give it a squeeze and it seems to be fine.

I don't top mine off. I just use it until the taste starts to go away (usually several hours), then fill it back up again. I don't think I'd call something that holds 1ml of juice an "atomizer". :p

I agree, and now they even hold about 1.9ml or something like that.
That's about what I was able to put in the $3 plastic giant ego cartomizers.
