Exactly, Bad,
But by perfect carto I mean TOTALLY PERFECT, you can unscrew the top part of it off (many threads, high quality, possible o-ring washer), no syringe, cup ptb glove/sleeve, no wick, spare ptb straws, etc., the straws can be sold separately though
Golly, I sure wouldn't want one with a screw top. I'd rather just pull a mouthpiece out with my fingers and fill it up by whatever method I choose. I certainly would not buy one if it had anything to do with ptb.

Great videos Bad, thanks for doing them.

You've modified what I'm doing so much you might want to start calling it the BadkoloPTB Mod. I don't cut the wicks, and use just enough PTB to close the slots off from the outside. After watching your vid I can see why you're getting such good wicking action. With the PTB that far down in there it's basically replacing the old wick. I don't plan on cutting mine because it's working great as is, but some people might find that helpful if they're still having a wicking issue.

Just call mine the "CE2PTB Mod Rev.1 or something. Yours can be Rev.2. :p

yeah br, but it doesnt have to be ptb, this could work with wicking material as well, its just having it shaped for the purpose at hand.

im not into the screw top method either but thats just me.

Banjo i like the ptb smaller actually and a tad thicker and not that long. but both ways work well.

and they wont have to, Let me continue with this test but i think this can be solved without any filler, ptb or any thing crazy. I might have hit the jackpot.

Trying the knots in the wick method? :)

EDIT: Of course just folding the wick into the slot would probably work as well.

A little update on my wick wrapped XL, I left it on it's side all night, picked it up this morning and vaped just like it was last night. No leaks all night long and I topped it off before I went to bed just to be sure it was full.

basicly NAV yeah, all that is needed is the simplest solution that we have been saying, it needs more wick at the slots, a flat braided wick would work, either wrapped around the cup or somehow put in place like the ptb, no filler no ptb just wick, knotting it might do the trick but if they switched wick to the braided type it would essentially do the trick plus the knot outside the cup.

knotting it alone might knot work becuase the knot needs to cover the slit completly, and that might not be possible with this type of stranded wick.

what needs ot be done is replicate with wick what we are doing with ptb, we are using ptb to cover the slot area and feed the juice better into the slot /wick/coil .

so the simplest solution is the knot but maybe with the braided better wick. or something like that

The wick in mine seems much sturdier than the one used in the plastic CE2, it may surprise you yet. I do think a flat braided type wick wrapped around the cup would be great, but then you run into the problem I'm having, filling it up. I have to either pull the wick up on the side (away from the slots) or push it down. I found out the hard that after filling it the first time pushing it down was easier, but required getting the needle in far enough to get below the cup. I'm thinking about pulling up the side with an exacto knife and cutting them so I can pop in a filler cap with the lip removed and fill it as per the original design.

Pics would be hard to see anything on Banjo. Once the wick is wet it almost translucent. If I get a chance to mod another one I'll try to take pics through the process.

I tried one just like Bad did on the video, which is 8 plies, and with the wick cut off right at the slits.
No dry hits at all so far.
No leaks when I lay it flat.

-------

Maybe a Br tip with ptb attached around its rim is what we need then
A tight fitting inner disc could hold the totally round ptb piece in place, on the tip of the Br Tip.

i think its possible to come up with a simple solution that replicates the ptb by just using wick, a knot or flat wick is the solution but im getting weak and tired and need to rest. so im out.

Rest oh mighty one. You'll need it for the battle ahead. The Chinese await your wisdom... :)

I left two of mine on their sides last night. They both vaped just as well this morning as they did last night. I have not done anything with the wick in either one.

ok I want my check from microcig, send 50% TO NAV AND THE REST TO ME.

i TOOK A new 510 xl, cut out the wicks, shaped the wick i cut off into a ptb type shape after making a knot in it, placed it in just like i would have the ptb, did that to the other side and walla.

I think ceo would be a good position for me over there at microcig, you think?

Now it just need to be done properly

would this work?

The ring is not a silicone ring anymore, it's metallic.
The problem is that the ptb is inside the thick rim of the drip tip, so the rim would have to be shortened and thinned out. The removable metal ring itself, which holds the ptb attached to the drip tip, would also serve the purpose of the upside-down inner cap.

__________

When you remove this drip tip/top, you actually remove the carto wick with it (which is the ptb stuff), and it's ready to fill. The advantage here is also that this wick is easily replaceable (only as needed) by simply removing the wedged metallic ring that holds it in place. The short tube-like wick that goes on the drip tip could also be sold pre-formed, pre-made.

I think Martinez might have a bit to say about CEO..LOL

EDIT: I'll happily take engineer. With the equipment and supplies they have I could build products that would set the vaping world on end. Maybe then I could by my own factory and start building some of my low cost computer ideas I've had...
