By "burnt taste", I mean a taste that is so harsh it makes you think your juice is being fried. So harsh that you can barely inhale it without choking. With PTB installed I can use a higher voltage and still maintain good flavor. The difference has to be the amount of juice wicking to the coil.
I'm thinking that's why i'm dripping into mine, if i could get below 3.5 i will find a spot that it doesn't feel like it's going dry. So you have a LL, do you find yourself turning up the volts after the third refill or would that make the taste worse?

p.s. I get exactly THREE fillings before I have to clean mine. The wick under the coil gets tar black and has to be rinsed and dry burned twice to bring it back.

And how do you clean yours? So far my cleanings only last one good fill up (usually), if I used it 3 full fillings, the liquid would be like black coffee. Do you use the denture tablets or soak it? I still haven't tried that, I just rinse and dry burn, clean the Bad Lipton strips, and revape.

Ok, so it's regulated then, that's good, so that leaves the question of having to adjust it as the coil builds up gunk, do you need to do that?
seems to help but I'm still too high to start with, hope the LS people will tell me their experiences starting at 2.5, but yes, as i get them more gunked turning up seems to help, don't think I've done a third refill yet.

Hey 'v1', walk me through that. Pictures?

This is not recommended (I mean just as any mod or diy would officially not), and I don't have the results yet, but this is what I chose to do. There are really so many glues caulkings and sealants, and we couldn't get a recommended one since we posted, so this is what I got and did.
I mean silicone is widely used, and also epoxy ..on mods,

Ok, so first I made sure that the battery connector was dry, then I poked a real small amount of the polyfill sheet into the hole, but this and many sealants do not work with polyetheline, but it can be a piece of plastic or something, I'm not sure anything is even necessary. I did that mostly just because I wanted the silicone to stop a little easier, from just filling the whole battery up.

Then I cut the tip of one of the blue filler tips and filled that blue thing with the silicone and promptly injected the battery connector holes. Without putting something in the hole first, or with a different battery such as yours, I have no idea how much silicone it will need, but when I filled them it didn't need much.

The silicone I bought at Petsmart, it says Marineland(R)- Aquarium Sealant - 100%clear Silicone Rubber it was about $6 something

The tube said don't disturb it for 24 hours, and no water for 48 hours, [maybe more if you use a lot?] so in 2 or 3 days I wil start to see the results

Once the coil gets that gunked up turning up the dial doesn't seem to help. I can still get vapor but the flavor of the juice (tobacco/menthol) is gone. Since it's all about taste with me I just pitch it in the "to clean" pile and grab a fresh one.

I take mine apart and soak everything in hot water, then blow out, then soak again in fresh hot water. After that I dry burn, rinse in hot water, then dry burn a final time. Usually after the second dry burn I have a mostly white wick again and I'm good for another 3 fillings.

Take the tube off too Banjo?
I've had only 50% success at that without bending it, got one off good enough to look for clear tubing here in Houston to replace it.

That would be sweet except if you actually try that you'll likely melt the tube during a dry burn.

i'm going to try, if i can find glass I'm sure it would work, some plastic might work, will find out the first dry burn, maybe removable and dry burn with it all just hanging, but enough talk about ideas not tried.
What's the best way to remove the tube? Tried some heat with no joy, should i use more?

I've had fairly good success removing the tube. I screw the carto on to an old battery. Then clamp the battery in a vise. I clamp it in the horizontal position and include the end with the threaded fitting. This keeps the battery tube from collapsing and also prevents its fitting from pulling out. Then I pull on the carto with a slight rolling motion. When everything works right, nothing is damaged.

Let us know what you find out about the clear tubing. I think it will need to stand a certain amount of heat. Mine get pretty warm sometimes when I get serious with my vaping. Maybe you could pull it off for a dry burn.

That got me to thinking. I wonder how many times I can pull the original tube off and put it back on without it leaking. I might give that a try.

Oh no I don't remove the tube, I just pull all the rings out and wash those separately. They usually end up getting stained so I soak those in dish washing detergent.

Got the T-shirt for that don't you Scottbee. Anything to look out for?

Many upscale establishments won't let you wear the T-shirt without something over it. Come prepared with a backup shirt, because missing out on a nice date due to wardrobe is always embarrassing. ;)

Enthusiasts will probably won't to focus-in on the PTFE and PFA compositions.. as they probably won't get the desired results with FEP.
