I love how this thing holds more juice than the IKV io6 atties I've been using to drip. Definitely has the potential to surpass the vape I get from the io6's. :thumb:

Yes! I was surprised at how much it holds, too! It was totally worth the investment. I chucked all my other drippers in a box. :D

Sweet mother of vapes...

I sacrificed one of the ceramic cups from my 5-pack of replacement coils and managed to wick a 1.4Ω coil with XC-116 in my Dripper Pro. I used 28ga Kanthal and the clipped NR wire tails from a stock coil.

The build absolutely kicked my :censored: ...I can't handle the truth. Airflow was compromised due to the thickness of the XC-116, resulting in diminished vapor production. I'd categorize the temp. of the vape as well into the hot range and the throat hit was immense - close to unbearable. I was vaping Mad Murdock's 710 and after 5 or so one second hits, I was done; totally cashed. My lungs are still feeling the effects 20min. later. I checked the wick and there was no sign of dry burn.

LOL, oh well...back to the drawing board!!! :D

I saw that! I'm really interested in how you built it. I know the Dripper hits harder than any of my other drippers anyway, so I am not surprised that a build gone wrong could cause the throat hit from hell. :) Are you going to try to troubleshoot and try again? How much wick did you use?

Prolly too much wick...I didn't think to take pics because I honestly wasn't sure it'd work! I didn't loop the XC-116; I pretty much spiraled it down around the ceramic cup.

Yeah, I was thinking you'd want to go through the coil and then tuck the ends down to either side without filling the whole thing. Hmmm. :) Were you able to keep the coil inside the cup like in the stock build?

Nope, I didn't bother trying to wrap the coil directly around the wick with the 28ga wire, so I pre-wrapped the coil. With 30ga, I think I could do it.

Was out of town 'til late last night, and found VAPEMAIL when I got home.
I'm not much of a coil-builder, and was hoping it'd be OK with stock coils - and it IS.
I will, I'm sure, dabble in wrapping...but even as-is, I am happy!

Yes, I have been very happy with the stock coils too!

I just ordered pre-made NR-R-NR wires from a tip someone on the By Leo thread had. I wish I had noticed that they had ribbon wires and ordered the regular ones, but it should be okay anyway.

Kanthal Ribbon Ready Wires

A bit lazy I know..... but a little limited on time today and need to get my order in. Do you have a recommendation for wick to go along with the ribbon wire and dripper pro? Preferably same vendor you linked to. Much appreciated for the help!!

Do you have any experience with cotton in other devices ? I've used nothing but cotton in my Dripper since September.

Cool, cotton is what I have been using with my PT2 and alike. I guess ill go that route as i love the fact it only a minute to switch out when time does not allow for a total rebuild. I have to look at the pro dripper setup again, mine hasnt arrived (arrives Monday) and i was under the impression only wicks would work with that ceramic fitting/configuration.
