Well, I managed to snag a windows laptop….downloading escribe was easy.

Cant wait for sdna75 to arrive….guessing its ready to vape out of the box since Daniel has already done the pre-sets….but I'll be vaping some stock kanthal coils at low watts, so probably won't need to set a thing…..maybe just input my battery settings and tweak the screen settings if I need to.

Be aware the max res is lower on these than the other Evolv boards, it's a sliding scale with wattage that is in a graph in the spec sheet. 0.5 ohm for 75 W, 1 ohm for 35 W, 1.5 ohm for 25 W.

That sounds like just the voltage limit without a boost circuit... I think it's capped at 6v.
But it's up where I rarely tread... so I'm guessing.

Just thinking of throwing 5v at my dinky low ohm builds makes me choke. :p

Is 9v even possible on an 18650?
Here are specs Login - Evolv DNA Forum

Sdna and dna75 chip do the exact same thing the DNA 200 drove
Me nuts on. So I have to figure out what I am doing wrong because I can't believe more people wouldn't be annoyed by this.

Build rta
Mount with both devices at room temp
Fire and resistance sets say .35 vape a few times to break
In coil

Cool back down remove tank. Fire mod no atomizer with both room temp
Mount again.

Fire. Resistance sets to slightly different due to wire settled whatever. Call it .38. Both tank and mod have been resting five minutes.

Vape away with temp setting at reasonable level.

Stop using mod. Allow To Sleep with atomizer attached.

Press fire button to awaken and resistance has dropped drastically. Is now .30 requiring 100 more
Degrees for same vape.

Allow to cool 5 mins. Remount. .38. Vape normally

Every time a current DNA chip
Sleeps my resistance drops through the floor. Happens on every tank. Different materials. Dna200 DNA 75. Etc. the only solution is to vape for a second on first mount and allow the mod to cool and register then lock ohms.

On the DNA 200 the lock was irrelevant. I could lock at like .38 and if it slept it came back at .3 still locked.

It's such a drastic difference after sleep it throws everything off. And it's not right, the same tank registering .3 after sleep on the DNA shows .35 on ten other mods. I need to see if the resistance lock is respected now through sleep mode. It should be respected through anything. Unless I unlock it should never change.

So the conclusion for me is that sleep mode causes some weird analysis and low resistance readings. Been were delaying with builds in the .05-.4 range these changes can drastically affect the vape. 100F+ changes necessary to get it output.

So where's the error here. If I am waiting 2-5 mins for my build to cool why would the mod register it on first mount .08 higher than it does after a long rest and deep sleep? Why would it register lie after sleep when every other decide I have reads it as expected?

I must be ding something writ but it's not build related. There's no short. There's not an issue with nife48 or nickel or stainless. Hell stainless I could understand.

Super confused and frustrated this is still happening. And feeling crazy nobody else seems to have this issue.

We're similar vapers. I have LG HE2's (2500mah 20a) and Samsung 25r's (2500mah 20a) and both batteries are very good. I get mine from Amazon. They have the best prices and ship fast.

I was building 1.2 - 1.5Ω kanthal builds at 10-15w and MTL. With 26g 316L, I build a 3mm ID coil with 6 wraps for about .45Ω. I set my mod to 25-30w and 420-450°F with a 50w preheat for 1s. I'm finding a 2.5mm ID coil is a bit better but I'm also using 28g 430ss now. This gives me a similar vape to a 1.5Ω kanthal build but it's much more consistent.

430 or nickel free stainless has the lowest temp variance of them all iirc. For accuracy you may want to move down to 316 or even 304 and sick to 28-9 gauge for similar builds. Anything good grade onion is fine. Unless you have a one ins. Jillion nickel allergy there's no real benefit to higher rates stainless and definite downsides as I understand it. In fact there are high number stainless wires not suitable for vaping. So higher isn't always better. And implantable
Medical grade ain't necessary. Have a look at the tcr tables for the various stainless. If you're totally happy then none of this matters but for other mtl vapers maybe some info that's helpful

I vape similarly to you. Mtl. I love nife48 from zipipf for accuracy. / same nice vape as kanthal. I find generally larger than 28 gauge doesn't work well for mtl. I'm a big fan of 29 in all materials.

-**Fwiw - my post above this - don't take that to mean I am a clueless newb. My issues are specific to this chipset. No issue with any of my 8 other temp devices. Just the evolv chip - it's just puzzling me.

That is the board measuring the resistance against room temp as it cools and refining the resistance reading, which is a good thing for accuracy. It sounds like your mod resistance maybe set too high, both my DNA 75s are 0.002 ohms, if you don't know use 0.000. Not sure on res lock I have only needed it on one atty that had a connection issue.

I have recently heard this same complaint about the DNA75 from another long time, very experienced, DNA200 Modder running a Dual Coil Ti Build on an Aromamizer. Not sure (can't remember) what his resistance ohmed out to be but he ended up submitting a trouble ticket on it and sent in his board to Evolv for testing/troubleshooting. As I remember he was pushing the DNA75 pretty hard with his vaping style & build but I have not heard what the outcome/determination was yet. I do know his DNA200s did not exhibit the same behavior.

Wrong.

SS TCR
SS430 1380
SS317L 940
SS316L 879
SS316 880
SS304 1016

SS430 has the highest TCR (and hence the best accuracy) of the listed SS grades.

I see. Well thanks for the corrections if not the tact?

You noticed the iirc?

430 is cheaper at unkamen than others fwiw

I'd quote a price but I'd be afraid to be mistaken at his point ingot 200 ft for the same price as 25-50 316l

Sorry if I've aged to far to have a clue or remote understanding of what "iirc" means. (never mind, I just Googled it)

Well at an advanced age one should realize that opening a post with a flat WRONG is quite rude. Whe. Another is simply trying to offer help and states it's a matter if memory and may be mistaken.

The same argument for lacking acronym knowledge should apply to manners.

My EXPERIENCE is that 304 has seemed more reliable on non DNA mods utilizing single tcr values. Curious why that would be.

I don't find Stainless reliable at all frankly of all the materials I use. None of the grades. On any device. Compared to nife 48 and nickel it's way off.
