That's something that I wasn't aware of, probably because I changed the whole thing to my liking as soon as I received mine.
Good to know.
When Daniel set up the SDNA75, he purposely used a modified kanthal TC curve equivalent in Power Mode to allow the use of pre-heat on a non-TC build.

Forgot about that because I use SS Exclusively in TC mode & almost never use power Mode anymore (hard to imagine even wanting to). If I wanted to use SS in power mode I would still use the SS material & turn off TC mode, but that's just me.

The thought never even occurred to me! Sorry & glad you got it sorted!

Think he modified the curve same way you did by raising the data points by .1 past 300deg to trick the dna to do a preheat. He alluded to it in his vid in a by they way Kanthal preheat type comment, but I'm not watching the vid again to figure out where or what he said.

I can't take credit for it, I just passed it on....

Ya it was odd but working like a champ now. I believe when it was new I was messing with the menus and effed up. I changed the temp in wattage mode on the mod, that's where my fault was. I figured it out again when I was screwing with menus again while I was bored. Thanks for all the input you all had. I'm loving these dna's now i figured it out for the most part.
I've never heard of it doing boost for kanthal, but that's nice for people who build those jumbo advanced coils.

Sadly my Lavabox dna75 has intermittent power. Sometimes turns on and then back off. Sometimes works but a light tap/bump turns it off. Sometimes wont turn on at all.
How is Evolve's CS dept. to deal with?
Could be a cold solder. Open a ticket with Evolv and they'll take care of you.

They are great, but I'd check the grounds first.

My lavabox 75 also stopped working. It cut out for a while then was alright until I changed the battery then it wouldn't work at all. I hooked it up to escribe the screen lit up but wouldn't fire. The monitor in escribe had one black line that looked like a child scribble up and down the whole page. Sent it back where I bought it they tested it and sent me a new one. Good luck with yours.

I've been running into an oddball problem with my SMY SDNA DNA75. with both an Avocado 24 and an Aromamizer V2. Running kanthal coils in Power mode, I frequently get the resistance page popup message when I press the button to fire it, the message asking you to press + for new resistance, - to retain old.

Even weirder, the two values displayed for resistance in the popup don't match what I'm actually using. A stable 0.49 ohm coil (stable as in displaying that value consistently when firing, or when I test on another device), may get a popup asking if I have a new 0.65 ohm coil, or still have the old 0.62 ohm, even though the coil is really 0.49. Sometimes the popup will actual show the same resistance value for both old and new coils, neither of which matches what I have.

My 510 connector contacts are clean, the coils are showing stable resistance when firing (staying 0.49 ohm, eve though the popup was asking about a 0.65 ohm), power delivery is smooth, reasonable, consistent with the proper power given the actual resistance.

Thoughts?

I run things with a 510 extender, to use a lanyard. The positive contact is solid, doesn't seem to stick out, good connection.

The reason I suspect FW glitch is that the resistance shown while firing is indeed consistent, not changing, as expected with kanthal and my relatively low power (20 - 24W zone) use. The messages on the popup atty resistance window are nowhere near the values displayed when it is actually firing. I actually do see messages asking about 0.63 and 0.65 ohms (the precise numbers in the popup will vary, but that order of numbers) when the coil is reading 0.5 ohms while firing.

Even weirder is when I get the resistance check window and it is saying to press - to keep the old 0.55 ohm value, or + to select a new 0.55 value -- the numbers listed are the same (though not my actual ohms, and at least 10% off from what is displayed after I choose either of the responses).

It reminds me of when I put a new disposable coil in my wife's Kanger Subtank, before it's fired it reads way higher than it's marked. Then after firing it reads correctly. I figure this is due to a poor connection somewhere in the chain. I noticed this back in the old days when I used cartomizers also. It's really easy to open, check your solder connections for a cold joint. The ground wire is soldered to the nut that holds the 510 into the case....make sure it's tight.

Took the two long screws out of my Lavabox dna75 but nothing seems to want to budge. Where are the secret screws? Under the tinted bezel maybe? Do I have to pry off the bezel to access screws like on my Cuboid?
I would love to know this as well. I wanted to switch the up/down buttons around and make sure the screen cable is positioned safely but I also got stuck after the two screws inside the battery compartment were removed.

You can swap the up/down buttons with EScribe in the mod tab.

That is the way i setup all my other dna 75s, 200s and 250s. Having the button markings the opposite way there are assigned pretty much ruins the point of switching the assignment though. Ultimately I want the screen flipped and the buttons swapped but I can't deal with the buttons being mislabeled so I cant setup the lavabox up this way until I can physically swap the buttons.

Some folks take some thin plastic and cut to fit the up/down buttons and then glue them onto the buttons thus covering up the +/- labeled button faces.
