LOL... I have a concept of a method which may prove efficient.
What I lack is a consistency in my vape style... other than no MTL. :p

It just strikes me that... preheat is the only functional parameter that cannot be adjusted in the mod. So it seems logical to give that one preference in design of the profiles and adjust the others as needed.

Over time I could find I'm overthinking it and that I fall into easy patterns of build and usage that makes this concept moot... but I'm not experienced enough with it to be there yet.
In other words... maybe I'm being an idiot. :D
Your user preferences will fall where they will fall and you will program the mod for what works for you & in turn will offer the benefit of that experience to others to accept or reject as they see fit. Bottom line is there is no right or wrong way to set it up & we all do so with what works for us.

That is the beauty of the user customization of it. Not many mods out there that offer that kind of flexibility.

Yep..... customize and set the profiles as you wish.... with 8 profiles one can set preheats according to profiles as desired.....

What's coming? (sorry... this thread has become confuzzling)

I need to knuckle down and fine tune Daniel's SMY profiles, get them into the VT75 as well, and modify the lot for the 133s.

I think it's a better way to go... creating a range of "pre-heat & punch" profiles and then just selecting the material on the fly and adjusting wattage and temp... versus creating material profiles which then have a set and non-adjustable pre-heat.

The downside would be... every time you re-upload the .ecig file from your computer, it will reset the Wattage and Temp (and material) for each profile.

Hmmm... six of one, half dozen of the other.
I still think I'll try it.

The sdna75. It arrived today. It looks like they bought leftover bodies from the evic mini construction line and slightly modified the battery door. Down to the finish. Which is not a bad thing. If the finish on these is as good as the evic mini I'll be stoked as that mod is one of the most durable going. I'm only half Joking. The mod is almost s copy of the evic mini design. There's only so much you can do I suppose and I guess that means two people found the same way to optimize.

So which evolv software do I need the one listed first or the one listed with beta fjrmware. I Amina hotel with super slow wifi so I eat to be sure I get the right one. We have a few linked versions here now. Thanks for clarifying. As I said. My wifi is going to take an hour plus to download this software. So the very helpful links a few posts back are very kind but a bit confusing as they disagree with each other.

First thoughts on the sdna75

I've just been reacquainting myself with the control Methods evolv uses for changing things. A lot of button presses to remember at first but I know setting profiles and such solves a lot of that.

I have to say my gut reaction is that I'm blown away by this mod. I guess one criticism was a weak 510 spring that may not last long - maybe it's replaceable ?

The fit and finish is very good. The it if box experience is miles ahead of the opus 200 I had as is the temperature control with stainless. For a mass produced evolv mod this device seems extremely good value providing no weak wiring or 510 issues arise. May be the best deal going in vaping right now.

I'll need some time with the mod. But my guess is a few more if hear are in my future if I can find a wooden one or they make it in white for sure.

I need to add some material settings for 430 stainless, nife 48, and 36gauge kanthal wrapped 28 gauge stainless Clapton wire. And the same with stainless and stainless - maybe -The mixed material Clapton wire will probably require trial and error.

The fact this is well configured out of the box is a huge improvement to the blank slate the opus 200 was - which couldn't do anything without downloading csv and learning escribe. It's smart for them to have his good to go for those who just want a good kid and no mucking about.

I'll go back through this thread to find the case thermals and such. And I appreciate he help and recommendations here. At first blush I'm extremely impressed.

If they can put this chip in something the size of an Istick pico or a regulated tube mod that would be outstanding. I'm glad this experience is already so much better than my dna200 experiences. The year or whatever has clearly matured the whole platform and the designer of this mod appears to have done a good and pretty thorough job compared to some boutique makers who slapped a chip and battery in a case and shipped dna200 mods without manuals. Cables. Settings.

It's tough to justify dna75 mods that cost three times as much I'd think. Though I would pay a premium for a truly small well built one. The complete tear downs show this mod as being assembled well aside from the 510 spring.

Thanks all.

*** one thing i don't see in the manual. How do I change display from right to left. I can't remember. And I feel like I've tried everything.

Case thermals & mod resistance should already be programmed in.

Under the "Screen" tab... the top item is "Orientation".

And as Tpat said... the case thermals are already there.
Not all makers fill that in, or use the proper data, but I suspect these are the correct numbers.

Daniel (DJLsb) was involved, though I don't know how extensively.
But could he have been a lazy sod and just ignored that aspect of the set-up?

He talks up their importance on his site, so I'd be skeptical that he'd blow it off.

May be the best deal going in vaping right now.

The 75w doesn't cover everyone's needs, but I'd say it's a dead heat with the $80 VT133.

There are only two current DNA boards, as far as I know.

The 75w (single cell, as a rule) and the multi-cell 200w (133w in 2-cell mode, get a VT133).

The smallest 75 I know of is the VTC size SMY SDNA75 ($50 @ Ecig).

Why... I'm using both right now. :p
I second this recommendation! I have both as well and for the price, are hard to pass up. Both are excellent mods.

Best deal was the DX200 for $55 or even $60 before they sold out the other day.

You're right, I keep forgetting that recurring sale.
Even if, like me, you're not a fan of LiPo packs or the mod's enclosure... it's a steal.
(the 18650 conversion is the worst/fuggliest thing since the SX extension tube)

And hell... if you're a modder, you get all the bits and bobs, plus an $80 DNA board. :p

On the 200 you could set the display to show the voltage for each battery when charging. It's under the screen setting. So it's not the greatest. But at least you can plug it in for a few minutes and see what the voltage for each cell is.

It would be nice if the display option could be unique for each profile. That way you could set a profile then set it for the in use screen if you didn't need all 8 and didn't want to plug it in.

Side comment when checking this out. My Triade was crazy good in battery management. All three batteries showed 3.52 volts.

Is there any way of checking remaining battery voltage? Seems to do everything else

Yes, but not on the fly.
You'd have to select Voltage or Battery % for one of the left side lines, from within Escribe.

If there's a function akin to our JTech's for example... I'm not aware.
