So Calif
All I can say is be creative, and try to raise the funds to purchase 1 litre of nic at a time, as often as you can.

I've seen this coming for awhile, and personally have been buying / freezing 1 litre glass bottles of 48mg nic for around $68.00 a litre shipped. I have a few good rba's, and mechanical mods to use them with if (when) my VV mods crap-out. Gallons of PG are as close as my local Tractor Supply for around $25.00 a gallon, and the nic I buy has choices of PG / VG ratio. (I get the 50/50)

I commend the activists attempting to stop the coming storm, but there are not enough vapers in the USA to create enough of an impact to prevent the coming FDA regulations IMHO. One thing I have learned in my close to 50 years in this country.... They (The Government agencies) will do exactly as they please. From what I understand, there are only two large labs in the USA which extract the bulk nic. A stroke of the pen will stop the flow to anyone who does not have whatever permits and FDA approved equipment which will more than likely be required.

I would hope that you have also commented on the FDA pages, whether or not you feel there are enough activists or not to sway the FDA's opinion.

Like you I have felt this coming for some time and have prepared the best I can in case things go badly. But I will not shut my mouth and go quietly away. None of us should.

In America today ... If you try to expose the real truth
about the government and its agencies ... You’re branded
as some kind of UN-patriotic radical conspiracy theorist.
This is so true.

Before I started using electronic cigarettes I was blissfully ignorant to how the world really is.
But when you start digging into what is really going on, it gets uglier and uglier the further down you go.

Before I started using electronic cigarettes I would have though you guys were conspiracy nuts.
But now I are one too.
:(

But it isn't just America, it is how the world works.
It is probably how things work, and have worked, in every country throughout history.

Sorry for quoting myself, but I need to expand on this...

While it may be true that one hand has always washed the other when it comes to power and control...
It is also true that there has always been a way for the people to change the status quo.

And that has always been by revolution.

Now in the old days, revolution meant picking up arms and being prepared to die for what you believe.
But that is not the case anymore, as the advent of mass communication and the internet has changed the game forever.

We CAN rise up, and we CAN make our voices heard, and we CAN get the public to sympathize and even side with us.
And we don't even have to pick up arms or be prepared to die in order to accomplish these things.

But it WILL take is all of us, and those who love us, coming together and believing.
And of course a little time and a little effort from all of us.

We CAN do this, and I truly believe that we WILL do this...
But the first thing we have to do is believe.

Sorry... It's a done deal... Actually, I'm surprised it hasn't happened sooner... The FDA exits to regulate the content, manufacture and effect of everything we put in our body... You can argue all day whether that's right or wrong but it's a moot point - they exist and they do what they do... The fact is, when you vape, you injest the vapor into your lungs... There's no way that anyone in congress, even someone who might be kinda-sorta Okay with the e-cig concept is going to vote against regulations that will give the FDA authority to regualte the safety of nicotine liquid... We can write letters, send emails, make calls all day but the argument, "Hey! It's safe, really. Trust me. No worries.", isn't going to hold up in a congressional debate... I know there are a few international studies with regard to the effect of e-cig vapor on the lungs but I just don't believe they are sufficient to hold off the FDA's assault...

Get to the DIY section of this forum, start ordering/stockpiling nic liquid base and be prepared to crawl into the bunker...

Learning to grow tobacco and extracting nicotine personally... should... uhh... be dangerous. This is what some people will do if this storm comes to pass. I really hope somebody invents nicotine mg testing strips. We're gonna need em. Bad.

Pessimism aside, I really hope every single person writes some damn letters.

DJ - I'm sorry... I mean really personally, sincerely, deep in my gut sorry ... this isn't OUR government any more... The country's changed in so many ways and on so many levels... Not just the vaping thing but everything... It makes me sad and I don't just mean rhetorically (sp)... I mean really sad... God bless us all... Let's hope someday the pendulum swings back...

qlcantu-
I will still let my voice be heard (this is MY Goverment), but you are right to be 'prepared' because 'MY Goverment' still has not learned the lesson that proabition does not work. I am prepared to take care of myself.

The problem is that prohibition does work. It creates a climate of fear, breeds social pathology and alienation, and creates new classes of "crimes" that can be effectively exploited for the purpose of expanding police state control over the populace. It also provides new avenues of monopolistic business opportunities for the corporate cartels who own the world. Health, science and safety are merely justifications for the consolidation of power. This is not an "education" issue. It's a human rights issue.

I posted my comment today, after thinking long and hard on what I wanted to say and how to put it all into words. I am going to currently help my boyfriend with writing his comment. I am currently enrolled in a composition course and I used all of the 1200 characters I was given to make my comment. Going over some of the items and found it funny as to how the nicotine level in my e-juice is, starting this next order I make, 6mg....the lowest for their gums and patches are 7mg. I don't know how many other people out there are actively using this as a way to get themselves off of nicotine, as I am, but I know that my 30+ years of smoking, I will not be able to give up the actual smoking part of it. I will still be using my ProVari and getting e-juices....it is better than snacking on food. I am getting really tired of the government trying to run all of our lives. Because of them, the children are more rowdy than ever, less behaved.

I can understand having some regulations out there to keep people from getting sick off of foods...but really, this is a luxury, like a car and alcohol...they should just leave it along. Call me what you wish, but I don't feel like I live in a free nation any more.
