I think those who DIY generally buy drums of 100 mg nic...
I really don't think DIY or pre-made e-liquid over 36 mg should be sold. Once enough calls to poison control centers become publicized, because little Johnny drank nom's 100mg DIY supply, the hammer will come down...
It should come down on mom, not the millions of vapers and hundreds of vendors.
On another note, I completely, totally, and 100% understand where all the concern comes from. I share the same at times....but more on a broad notion, too much government power (not specifically related to this issue). However, I do feel that sometimes there is fear being perpetuated (possibly and likely unintentionally) on this and other pro-vaping sites. It is a scary notion FOR SURE, but there are so many people who are basically perpetuating the idea that yep the FDA and BT/BP is going to win, we are all going to say goodbye to our health and precious vaping implements and liquids. I think there is no precedence for this ATM anyway. I mean, is it not true that the FDA already tried to ban e-Cigs and failed...and didn't fail in a huge drawn out long legal battle. From what I have read, it was pretty simple...not enough evidence that eCiigs were harmful in the slightest bit and that more research needed to be done and in as much as "they" have been doing research so too have we as well as independent scientific studies are being conducted.
We all have to remember that the FDA is NOT the administration and that contrary to popular belief (and the way it legitimately seems sometimes) there is due process of government that is still respected and appreciated by a majority of the bureaucrats). I am not saying they can be trusted, but what I am saying is that I think we are giving way too much credit and are fortune telling too much and it is leading people (especially those who are vapers and are not involved in the movement so to speak) to become skiddish and start to question the movement. i.e. If these vapers are thinking it is all going to go away, them maybe they are right.
We also have to recognize and remember that this is a GRASSROOTS movement dealing with the unknown (at least to the uninformed) and that they usually start off slowly but end (or continue) like a snowball. The FDA isn't dumb...they know what they are dealing with, they know we are gaining in numbers and support, not just from users but from doctors, scientists, lawyers, politicians (yes, there are some...more than you probably think). They also know what they are hiding and what they are leaving out in their studies. They WANT and feel the NEED to be in control and are admittedly throwing the big guns at this thing, but I think personally that is a good sign that they are scared - they are scared they do not have enough which means they know we can gain the upper hand easily. I personally think with the numbers of new vapers every day...the success stories, the lack of any (real) scientific evidence towards eCigs being bad at all we will see a positive outcome, perhaps not full and unencumbered freedom but I don't think it will turn out as disastrous as some think.
I mean it is sort of like they have a certain mark that is acceptable to them but are aiming way past the mark so that after the dust settles they will have gotten at least as close to their acceptable mark as possible.
Positive thought, actions, and talk are extremely important in times of unknown and tribulation so the best thing we can do is try to stay positive, stay supportive of each other and of those who are trying their hardest to go directly head to head with these fools. Remain respectable, post and share your successes, communicate with your representative en masse and evangelize analog smokers at every turn. We do this and we will be too large to fail!
I did not intend this to be a flame against anyone who shares any opinions but have simply been wanting to share these particular thoughts I have been having and observations.
