This is a very interesting RBTA that I got from www.gearbest.com. It works sort of like an upside down Genesis. I've been checking them out for a while but I've never seen anyone build a parallel coil on one so that's what I tried for my first build on the Flash V3. It turned out better than expected and its easy to build. It's got rda flavor and vapor with the convenience of a tank! There are different size screws to change your air flow options. Here's a step by step tutorial on how I built mine. I hope you enjoy it.

This is how it comes, in a cloth, zippered, carrying case with extra O rings, screwdriver, different sized air hole screws, clear tube, a long length of silica and kanthal. I use the clear tube when available because I like to see my liquid levels but you can have the complete stainless look if you like and you can also use your own drip tip if you prefer, like a wide bore.

1st. Build your coil on the deck. I decided to try a 26g parallel.

2nd. Wick it and wet the wick. Whoops!! I put this coil on backwards! I had to take it off an turn it around. You'll see why in the next pic.

3rd. Make sure that you wrap your coil facing the little nub I'm pointing to with my ceramic tweezers because the single air hole is on that side and you want your air to flow directly over the coil. This is how it goes together. Very easy and simple. Note the notch in the cap that corresponds with the nub. This is so the top cap and tank don't spin freely on the deck because it just pops on like an RDA top cap.

4th. Pop the cap/next segment on and insert wicks. This is how the tank feeds the coil. I'm using silica because it came with but you can probably use cotton. Snip them off flush with the top of the cap. and wet them with e-liquid. As you can see, there are already wicks in mine. The wick holes are directly over the screws and the wicks are meant to touch on either side of your coil.

5th. Now your ready to Fill up the tank, do this just like any other bottom coil tank and fill it up to the ring on the chimney with juice. I'm using 80%Vg

6th and lastly. Screw it on to the cap and your ready to put it on a device and use it! Here I have it on my IPV mini II.

Hope you enjoyed this tutorial and learned from my backwards coil mistake. :)

Dont be intimitated, it's easy. Seriously, if you can build a coil you'll have no problem twisting a mesh straw.
The hotcig clone is pretty much the same as the original. Materials will most likely be different and the o-rings are crappy but over all it's a good clone. All the parts are even interchangeable with the original, it's that good.

Yea, after using it a few days, it still works really well but i've had to fuss with one of the silica wicks a bit. I think the diameter was a bit small for the holes in the cap and one of them fell inside and flooded my coil a little. It didnt make a mess or anything because its got dual O rings but I could tell. I think your solution of like 400 SS mesh straws flattened at the top so they dont move is the perfect fix. I'll do that this afternoon. Still getting great flavor. I took the largest airscrew out and have been using it without any restriction at 15 watts. Nice & warm, flavorful, produces great vapor...I'm with you Zakillah, Why isn't this thing more popular?

This tank has become my favorite flavor atty, surpassing my beloved Erlkonigins. So, that's saying a lot.

This tank is highly regarded in Europe. I don't think it's gotten the attention it deserves here in the states. I think this is because of two reasons. 1) Length. It's a little longer than most tanks although one can purchase the short chimney and the tank extension to replace the entire stock tank and chimney to shorten it. 2) Looks. Most people think it is an ugly tank. Personally, I like the industrial look it has. It really wouldn't matter what it looked like to me. Function over form for me, every time.

Mesh straws for feeder wicks is definitely the way to go with this tank. When I got my first FeV, I didn't have any mesh. The authentic comes with cotton cord to use as feeder wicks. I used this cotton cord with my first couple of builds until my mesh came in. They worked great with 50/50 juice. I even tried them with 70 and 80%VG juice and unbelievably, they still worked although I could see them not keeping up with chain vaping.

With mesh, one adjusts the diameter of the opening in the mesh straw depending on pg/vg ratio. I've currently got 2 FeVs built. One for 70%vg and one for 80%vg. With 50/50 juice my straw openings are approximately 1.2mm. With the higher vg juices, I have about 1.8mm openings. I use a width of about 7-8mm and a length of 30-40mm to build my feeder wicks.

I only use nickel in mine and wrap a 3mm ID coil. I fluff my wicks prior to wetting them so that I get a good contact from the feeder straws. Here's a couple of pix from one of my recent builds.

My coil ohmed out to 0.16. I run this at 28w and 480F and it is an awesome vape.

Although I don't use them anymore, here's a couple of pix of the cotton cord included with the authentic. It reminds me of the cord used on clothes lines.

I didn't take a picture of it but I trimmed the wicks as flush as I could get them to the top of the base.

There's a great thread with lots of knowledgeable members here: http://www.e-cigarette-forum.com/forum/rta/504579-flash-e-vapor-v2-rba-artur-schwarze.html.

I've never worked with mesh, but it doesn't seem to hard. Do you need to use anything else besides the mesh? I've seen a few FEV builds using the mesh and this little strand of some fiber inside the rolled mesh.

I also see people annealing the mesh. Is that only for coil wrapping purposes or do you do the same in the FEV?
