Decided to recoil my Fogger V2 yesterday afternoon. It had been almost three weeks since the last build. I wanted to use a vertical coil again and I remembered someone mentioning that the positive post had a side hole. Confirmed that there was indeed a side hole and determined that it's placement should allow me to install a vertical coil without having to use a long tail on one end. When I finished I had the neatest vertical coil (9 wraps, 1/16 I.D., 30 ga Kanthal, at 1.7 ohms), perfectly placed with equal length tails.
The vape is terrific as is the taste.
It just keeps getting better.
p.s. you may have to turn the positive post with a pair of pliers to position the hole in the optimal position. Other than that the build is pretty straight forward.

You have to hold the positive post with pliers or similar when tightening the screw also
I've had my unit completely apart, and if you are calling the isolated pin (the one in the rubber grommet) the positive pin...there is NO hole except for the top where the screw goes in.

Well after 6 tries to coil this POS I have about had it, either dry hits or flooding. It might be great if you get it right, but seems like too much work to me. And IF I did get it right, what about the next time I rebuild it, will it work good? Going to look elsewhere as this POS is to much of a PITA.

Yeah whoever thought of the floating positive post is stupid. Its very hard to tighten down on the wire without it spining and messing the coil up. Shameful because this atty could be really nice. Into the parts bin it goes.

I assume if its screwed into a mod there is enough pressure to keep it from spinning no?
Mine isn't floating...you got a dud, I do believe.
e: on the other hand I have never tried assembling my Fogger without being screwed into a mod
Not the 510 positive. But the positive terminal post. It just spins.

Put me on the list of liking the Fogger. Removed the stock wick coil. Used 30g Kanthal @ 1.7 with cotton. Best vaping and leak free device to date.
The trick isn't in the coil. It's in the wick material. You've got to find the right placement or thickness or whatever to seal the juice holes enough to prevent flooding (and then leaking) and allow enough in to wet the wick.
I've done it correctly a couple times... once with 3mm ekowool, cotton yarn, even once with a cotton ball. But it's luck of the draw... I can't sit down and recreate the success each time...or even 8 out of 10 tries....
I'm not giving up on it, but I am exploring other options

I packed a 2 ohm coil inside a cotton ball with nothing hanging out the slots, just like a carto tank, and it wicks almost perfect but I didn't have the battery to run a lower ohm coil, so I just got 3 Sony 30V killers and I'm going to do the same thing with a 0.5-0.8 ohm coil and I bet it kicks .... I have a video of it hitting great in going to record the breakdown and put the 2 via together and post them....

You can add me to the list of people who have given up on the Fogger. I did finally get a perfect working setup after literally dozens of try's a couple weeks ago however shortly after I knocked it off the coffee table and chipped the tank. I paid the ridiculous price from an eBayer for a replacement. Mine still worked but looked bad and I love the way the Fogger looks on my iTaste 134. So yesterday I decided that while replacing the tank i would re-coil it and photograph everything so I could post my "working" setup on here.
I got my camera set up, lights all positioned, macro lens on for those "perfect" up close how to shots and set about building a new coil and documenting it. I built this one EXACTLY like the one that had worked for the past couple weeks. I had used this through a 60ml bottle of 50/50 all the way from my home here in Kansas to Seattle, Washington and back, high mountain passes, near sea level, open windows in my semi at 75 mph creating extreme pressure differences and it worked the entire time. Not just worked but was amazing in how well it worked. So new build documented, ohms a perfect 2.0, Fogger filled and FLOOD followed by more flooding, gurgling, flooding no matter what I tried. So I tore it down, checked and rechecked everything, put it back together and flood. I then went on the mission of getting my favorite atomizer back. 10+ builds of every coil imaginable yesterday! the entire day wasted and nothing worked. I never got one good hit from it all day. I even tried going back to the chipped glass thinking that somehow the new glass could be the problem. Well nothing worked, I wasted over 7 hours on this stupid thing yesterday and I'm done.
So the love/hate relationship has turned to pure hatred and I'm done with this aggravating pos.

I feel your pain. From what I have read, if it works it is great, it is just a PITA to get that perfect build, which I have never been able to do. Which is why mine is going into mothballs until some day when I am bored and want to be aggravated, then I will try again.

I had one build out of 20+ that was pure vaping bliss but the endless hours of aggravation chasing that dream is not worth it. I'm donating mine to the guys at the vape shop to experiment with. I love the way it looks on my 134 but I'm sure the real Kayfun I ordered this morning will look just as good.

It looks like some encouragement is required, everything I did here was real easy. I have never even set up a stock Fogger, this is my fourth one, my wife broke her v1 tank and I sold my other two. This is the only one that I thinned the walls around the wick slots and it works well.
The outside looks a little rough perhaps.
No micro here as I have an added short piece of 3 mm in the coil with the 3 mm piece that sticks out of the slots.

IMHO "I" should not have to modify a tank to get a good vape. IMHO

I agree that one shouldn't have to, but when the choices are between something like the fogger for $20 or so vs. something that would probably be quite a bit more, I'm going to be more willing to modify stuff to save money while still getting the desired vape. That's one of the main reasons I got into rebuildables.
